This razor is very lightweight with a proper angle for shaving. I had a fantastic shaving result with this razor. I used Treet Silver blades with it.I placed the order with Grown man Shave but forgot to add it to my previous order. Grown man shave company was offering free shipments over $75 and this razor was costing around $70, so requested them to waive the shipping fee which got approved.I will definitely buy from them again.

Just upgraded to the Henson from a basic Wahl DE from Shaver Shop.Not having any local Australian reviews I took a bit of a gamble on the Henson and tossed up quite a bit whether to go the medium or mild but so glad I went medium.Wow, what a shave. An incredibly smooth shave, 2 passes for a BBS shave with zero irritation, nicks or cuts.100% recommend this to anyone even those with sensitive skin (I'm prone to irritation on my neck and this gave me no irritation at all).Even if you are used to a weighted shaver, you will enjoy the weightless feeling of the Henson.Completely transformed my shaving experience and would buy again in an instant if I ever damaged mine (can't see that happening it feels rock solid though).

I shave my entire face and head every day. I've used a Merkur 34c for a while, and while I've been pleased with it overall on my facial shave, I've been disappointed at times with the results shaving my head. I heard the Henson AL13 was a good head shaving razor, and after several shaves I agree. It does fine on my face as well, but after years of trying the HeadBlade, cartridge razors, and several safety razors, this is by far the best head shaving solution I've found. I've used the RK, Astra, King C Gillette and Lord blades so far, all with excellent results.

The handle is beautiful and comfortable to work with. The large head makes it difficult to shave in small areas like the upper lip. I find that the shaver does not shave as close as a cartage. With a cartage I can shave every other day. With Henson I have to shave every day. However I get a lot of razor burn with a cartage and do not get it with Henson. Also when I don't shave for a few days Henson does a better job as the blade does not get clogged with hair. When you factor in the cost savings I feel Henson is an overall better shaver.
This is not a flashy looking razor. The Canadian Henson aerospace machining company put all their effort into simplicity, function, and making each one precise with their carefully controlled processes. I now have 3 of these and don't currently plan to try other razors. I picked up the version 2 medium this time, in the interest of researching if it is worthwhile to upgrade from version 1, which I have in mild and medium. The V2 is a bit more efficient and has some subtle tweaks to add to comfort. If you have a version 1, I don't think you absolutely need to upgrade, but I am glad I did. Main thing I noticed is the V2(New England Shave sells only V2, which is good) is a bit more efficient than V1. If you want a no drama, easy care, gets the job done, no defects razor, this is the one. You will not regret getting it. If you want a heavier or different shape handle, this has standard threads and you can buy after market stainless steel handles.

The shave is not medium as stated in the title. I have rough hair and when it grows in for a week or so one pass doesn’t cut it with this. Its ok because it is not an aggressive shave. The good thing about this shaver is that it is smooth and you can shave fast and sloppy and still not get cut. Matter of fact you have to be very intentional and it’s still not easy to cut yourself. The blade I’m using is the Gillette perma sharp(best blade imo). I reuse on the same side 4 times at least before it starts becoming dull and switch. It leaves my skin soft and the shave is easy and smoothest I have ever experienced.
I purchased this for my husband as a Christmas gift. He loves it of course. It is a great razor, feels luxurious and gives a great shave.
