See features above!!! This product is defintely a "10," if not for its unattractive high price. The GS422B guitar stand has all the angles covered in its design. There is the gravitational grip action, metal support for hangers, metal coupling for extra support when hanger is engaged, extra long height extension for long scaled bass guitars, support for back of guitar locks in place during use, and an extra large base expansion to ensure that the use of only one guitar will not cause unit to tip over. I'm a gigging musician, and I got this stand to reliably hold two jazz basses. It's construction is solid and does very well holding two 9 lb. basses. I only have two objections: 1) The tripod is a bit stiff, and I pinched a finger in it once trying to close it. 2) The tripod radius is pretty wide, so for gigs in which space is an issue, this stand will not work. Overall though, I'm quite happy with it!

The stand worked well at first. But after about a year's use, the plastic parts (e.g., the tightening knob and grip handle) seemed to deteriorate and get sticky. It would rub off on my hands and was difficult to remove. It's kind of important to not have sticky goo on your hands when you're playing guitar! Then just recently, the plastic/rubber adjustment handle broke....the screw or something came loose and the spring went flying. Can't be fixed. This stand costs way too much for the aggravation they cause. Otherwise, this stand performed well. But I wouldn't buy one again.

I have had this stand for over a year and had no problems with it. I don't gig a lot, only once or twice a month, but it has proven to be very reliable. I can see where it may be a problem when using a guitar with a narrow headstock like a Tele or Danelectro but since I play Gibsons and a Strat I have no issues with it. I can put a heavy Les Paul on one side and an acoustic on the other and not have to worry about it tipping over, even outside in a strong breeze. The design works well for quick guitar changes between songs because the guitar's strap doesn't get tangled in the bottom support like conventional stands.I took off one star because it won't work with all guitars but, I would buy another one, and may do so if needed later.
Only got this a short time ago, but gives a good first impression. Seems pretty sturdy, & it was on sale so I went for it. I've been using a double stand for the last decade made by Ultimate Stands, & it's getting a little worn. Really good stand but they don't seem to make it anymore. Glad I found this, even if I can't seem to find the pick holder slot's anywhere! lol!Bought the Dunlop pick holder to attach to it like I done on the Ultimate stand, so no big deal.
This works out so much better than the regular single guitar stands. No more worries that someone will bump my guitar off the stand. It looks bulky but it really does take up less room and its easy from my stool to switch guitars. The grip that everyone complains about getting sticky has been improved by them going to a regular plastic grip. When folded the hangers at the top flop around but that is easely fixed by a Velcro strap. Carry case is a little pricey but might be worth it. Overall I really like it.
High quality product. They have upgraded the plastic latches. I had one stand that the latch was getting grippy or a little sticky. I told them about it and they replaced it so fast the paper smoked. Customer Service was very easy to contact on that issue. Back to this one, it is stable even with one heavy guitar. If you travel much the folding yoke is a must.
I LOVE this stand, and I am going to give this thing a very objective review.Light aluminum and plastic. The bumpers are foam, but they are small because the guitar is only braced by the neck and a small collapsible arm. It touches very little, I like that. The thing sets up and breaks down in seconds. Less than 30 seconds with practice. Perfect for gigs, but I leave it up and use it all the time. Reasonably small when folded. The yoke is too small for some necks, such as classical and 6+ string bass instruments and the like; but then again, it's too big for some necks such as violins. An adjustable width for the yoke would be a small bonus, but not likely worth an increase in price; honestly. The automatic locks on the ends of the yoke are a little sticky at first, ... This is a thought that only the most discerning should even consider, and only from a prepared-to-buy point of view.Prepare to buy this guitar stand.
I have about five of these stands, with about a 75% success rate.First the positive: Folds up nice and compact. Sturdy until they fail. Easy to set up and tear down in a traveling situation.Cons: Height adjustment clutch tends to wear out if you put two nine pound guitars on it. For some reason some (not all) have developed a sticky residue on the rubber parts, so bad the stands are useless. The metal sleeves on the yoke mechanism rust.Seem to work best for acoustic instruments that are lighter in weight.Hercules customer support is nonexistent. Lifetime warranty is a joke.
This Hercules stand is a great stand for two instruments. Good construction, folds in the right places, and is quite secure for two instruments. I use it for holding two bass guitars and works very good. I have only had mine now for about a month. However, this stand is what we use at our church on stage and we have never had a mishap. Has several points of collapse, which takes a little getting used to, but it is pretty easy. Pretty portable. I chose this stand over body type stands because I think the lockable neck clamps of this stand hold a guitar better and i have seen guitars fall right out of body type stands.I got mine on sale at Musicians Friend so the price was right. I highly reccommend this product - wish it was American made.
