**WARNING** Had been using Hercules stands for about 10 years. Never had a problem. But today the stand collapsed on its own. The squeeze handle somehow broke apart and fell off the stand. I picked up the pieces of the handle and noticed they were very sticky. It appears the plastic deteriorated over time and finally gave way. Three guitars hit the floor but little damage. Still very shocking. Hercules must address the locking handle deteriorating.

I've had mine for 15yrs, never knocked it over. The springs eventually started to wear out in the past 3-4yrs but they've worked 1000s of times over the years at 100s of gigs. I'm ready to retire mine to home use and buy a new one for gigs. If I could buy replacement parts I'd spray paint it and keep using it but for $99 I'll just buy a new one. I've owned a single, double and triple version and they were all great. I even bought the auto grip wall hangers and those were great as well. I would like to see a nice bag being sold to keep it in for easier transportation and to keep it looking new. I saw another high end brand that sells one for their triple stand but it's half the cost of this stand and total with their triple stand would be double the cost of this ... I don't regret buying any of my Hercules stands and for the $ they've given me far more back, imho.

I owned an older version of this stand and had it for many years. I absolutely loved it.Unfortunately it was broken by the movers that moved my household goods. I immediately ordered a new one.The new one has a redesigned locking release to raise and lower the height that is a great improvement over my older model. If you need a guitar stand that holds 2 guitars then this is the one I recommend.

I love how the fact that the Hercules Stand is very secure and supports my bass guitar well. Some places we play have high foot traffic and you don't want someone to bump into you instrument and knock it over. The Hercules is stout and will protect your investment. When you have guitars that you've paid hundreds or even thousands of dollars for why risk placing them in an inferior stand. The peace of mind is worth the extra money it cost for this stand.
This is a must for players who use multiple instruments. In the home studio I keep am AE 6-string, AE 12-string and AE classical on the ready at all times. No reservations about using this for my customs or vintage instruments. Absolutely stable. Also able to hold alternate instruments like mandolin and banjo. Sturdy enough to handle heavy electrics with ease. I will use this in the studio and on stage.
I've used one of these before, when a former bandmate of mine had it on stage and let me use one of the holders. I finally bought one for myself, and have only used it at one gig so far. Overall, I'm satisfied with it. However, it seems like it requires some TLC, as the pivoting arms are plastic and feel like they might be a bit on the fragile side. Packing it up also calls for extra care; I transport mine in the box it came in (which includes a handle) because having all my other gear bumping into those plastic arms seems like a bad idea. On the plus side, it does what you want: holds instruments on stage without falling over, and allows you to quickly change instruments. I put a mandolin and a guitar on it. I have 2 head stand used at a lot of gigs since 2001, in Martin Backpacker bag. Bought this 3 head for my studio. Can't beat them for build quality, stability, holding your guitar securely, w/the drop-in, lift-out heads, many ways to adjust guitar, bass, synth guitar, cord clearance.
A very good product over all, could it be improved, yes, but it's already the best, imho, on the market so. Secure grasping mechanism, worry no more. Stable footprint although orientation of leg in relation to guitar body is apparently to maximize stability but compromises comfort lowering a guitar straight on top of a kicker leg, don't miss. Body support foam covered back braces are nice, functional adjustability is minimum, not allowing for placement directly behind the set neck/ body intersection construction of many guitars, perhaps an additional set up for the upper section of the stand which is exactly where the neck/ body connect is on my guitar. Is this important you ask? It happened to me, came home from work and found my guitar broken in half, still on ... Is this important you ask? It happened to me, came home from work and found my guitar broken in half, still on the, sounds like alexander hamilton, stand. That stand was a neck hang only, very bottom of the guitar body support, nothing in the middle. Problem solved with this stand. 3 in 1 works for me, less stands as I gig with multiple guitars, also saves space in the studio. Feels sturdy and secure, I might have shortened the shaft on the upper hanging device to create a little backward leaning slant, more weight resting against the lower support, wonder if they'll blow around in a stiff breeze. Good looking, quality feeling actuating mechanisms, love the "home shop" beads at the hanger shaft to top nut, hey, it's welded, fine with me. Couldn't be happier with this stand overall... well I could but nobody's listening so.
The title is not overstating this piece of equipment. Super portable, great build quality, easy on the eye (although yellow may not be everyone's colour), and at a mid price point. I swapped a 3-u guitar rack for this, and this feels safer. It currently holds a P-Bass, Strat, and Acoustic with ease. I haven't stopped gushing to my pals about it (which is quite sad when I think about it).
I use this stand to hold a fairly light electro acoustic on one side with a heavier solid electric guitar on the other . Before purchase I was concerned about the stability given the weight difference between guitars , but decided to go ahead with the purchase anyway . I need not have worried , the stand is very stable , even with just one heavy guitar . It is well made although perhaps a tad heavier than I expected , small price to pay for what is a very good practical piece of kit .
