This is the perfect gift to yourself or perhaps someone else, to either start making your mixes or would like to feel the spinning of the vinyl, almost like spinning turntables. The Hercules DJ Control Impuse T7 Mixer comes carefully packaged and ready to work right out of the box. DJUCED also has plenty of tutorials to learn the skills to get better if you are a beginner while Serato DJ Lite it is to create your masterpiece. The vinyl turntables look just like the originals just a bit smaller, the size of a 45 records or 7 inch, the discs are made of real vinyl so it does like mixing with a real vinyl record. And speaking of mixing, the turntables can scratch as well as anything you can think you would do with a vinyl, except the needle skipping in the middle of a gig.The inputs outputs: I like that not only does it have RCA outputs it also has XLR outputs, and it has a Mic input to directly connect the mic to the controller, and on the front of the unit you will find both sizes of headphones, 3.5mm and the 6.35mm.The controls are smooth and easy to use, and you have 8 modes to use on each side, it even comes with FX buttons to give it your own effect. The beatmatch guide is just amazing, most of the time it makes it a lot easier to mix all the music without hassles.Once you become familiar with the Controller, there is no limit to making your own mixes; it is super easy to control the laptop and making it your own.The one thing I would like different is to have USB C on both sides of the cable, laptop to controller. This is definitely not a toy, the controller feels comfortable and smooth, it has legs to make it more accessible and for it to stay cool while working hard to make everything work together.Overall, this is not just for the beginner, it is also for the DJ that wants the vinyl feel, it is a lot of fun and it is easy to get familiar with it.

Amazing!

The way this works is when you play a song, the master drive automatically starts spinning acting as if you’re playing a vinyl record. These function the exact same way as normal turn tables, you can scratch, rewind, fast forward all by spinning the vinyl and it works flawlessly. The T7 also has 4 kickstands that fold out and act as feet for raising the unit. This is great for connecting cables as well as giving you better reach.Setting up the T7 is very easy, you plug it in to your Mac or PC, download the software, then download the free programs. I mainly used DJuiced because I liked the layout and the design better. Even if you’re an expert, I recommend reading the manual that you can download, as it offers some very useful tips on how to use all the features. Some of my favorite features that the T7 has is the ability to turn off the vocals and hear just the music, or you can turn off the music and hear just the vocals. This is really useful when remixing songs. The rotating platters are very impressive as well, I love how you can use any 7” vinyl record to put on there and it doesn’t have to be the ones that came with the unit. You also have the ability to customize the pads, you can make loops or customize effects. On top of that, you can import your iTunes or any MP3 file you already have and play it in DJuiced and mix it. This may seem a little overwhelming, but it’s actually very easy to use.Overall, I love the Impulse T7. This is truly a fully controllable DJ set up that offers everything a DJ would need. The moving platters are really impressive, you wouldn’t even know that these aren’t playing a record, the way they control and respond so flawlessly. The number of effects and customizing you can do is really impressive, and you have so much control over how you can mix and DJ. There is also an option to upgrade the fader section in case you want other options. The 2 software options are very easy to use, but hard to master because there is so much to offer in the programs. Whether you’re just starting out, or you’ve been dJaying for a long time – the T7 is definitely a great option and it makes djaying so much fun.

Has everything, good build, great to use.

I wasn’t sure what to expect with this, but after some time with it, I came away pretty impressed. For starters, the build is great. It has some weight, but quite honestly, not as much as I was expecting. While I was a little surprised it was only 11lbs, it is also fairly compact, both of which make it so easy to move around and I think transporting it will be a breeze. A nice add. That said, everything is solid and seems to be put together well. All nobs and buttons felt “right,” were responsive and logically placed. The FX section is great to use (although the lights are not the brightest on the smaller buttons). The performance pads are very responsive with a good feel, nice travel, and nice RGB. The FX section is great to use (although the lights are not the brightest on the smaller buttons). The performance pads are very responsive with a good feel, nice travel, and nice RGB. The belt driven platters have a great feel, have minimal drift, and I love the flexibility to use either the provided real 7” vinyl and slipmat or bring your own to the table. While there is a “little” play and workaround space, you really aren’t easily going to get much larger vinyl on there. Regardless, it is nice to be able to bring a custom look to the decks. I am no where near a pro, so I found the faders to be fine, albeit a little “loose” or with some “give” (if either of those make sense). You can upgrade an entire new fader panel and drop it in if you feel the need. For most, it is probably good, just something to note. Lastly, there are retractable feet, which I really appreciated. It brings the controller up to a “better” height, gives you some room underneath for cabling, laptop, whatever, and maybe even a little spill protection. All in all, I really like the build. As for software, you get Hercules DJUCED and Serato DJ Lite. Both are good software, intuitive, and known in the community. The options and customizations are nearly endless. Serato is a little held back by the Lite version, but still great to use. Honestly, I think it is the better software, and if you already have a Pro license, you can use it here as well.Ultimately, I really like this turntable/controller. I think it has a really fantastic build, is feature-rich, and simply has everything you are looking for in something like this. It may not be perfect (but I think it is pretty close), as I think for such a quality controller with an emphasis on the platters, they should have brought better faders, BUT, it does not have to be perfect for what it brings at this price point. The value is there. For me at least. Further, it is just so much fun to use, brings so much to the table, and while it may be more geared to the nonprofessional, I think novice and pro alike could be happy with it

Hercules T7 Review: DJ Tech Meets Tradition

When I first got my hands on the Hercules DJ Control Inpulse T7, I was genuinely excited. The support website is a bit convoluted to navigate, but I was able to find a downloadable quick start guide and numerous manuals. Currently the tutorial section of the site is missing content as well, so hopefully those walkthroughs will exist soon to help others through the setup process. The build quality immediately struck me. The motorized platters and the feel of the 7-inch vinyls under my fingers brought back a sense of nostalgia. It’s not just about looks; every knob and button feels sturdy and reliable. The retractable feet are a nice addition too, perfect for my tidy desk setup and getting a little more ergonomic flexibility.Diving into the software, the T7 comes with Serato DJ Lite and DJUCED. I’m very fluent in all tings tech, and these programs were fairly intuitive once I got the hang of them. Features like the Beatmatch Guide and Intelligent Music Assistant were a lifesaver for a DJ beginner like me. And for those who love to tinker, the options for customization are almost endless. It was a bit of a learning curve, but definitely a fun one.Using the T7 was a blast. The motorized platters mimic real turntables so well; it’s impressive how they respond to every touch, making scratching and mixing feel so authentic. Even with larger audio files, the performance was smooth. The tactile feedback from the controls made every session feel more engaging. To sum it up, the Hercules DJ Control Inpulse T7 has been a joy to use. It's the perfect tool for anyone passionate about DJing, whether you're just starting out or looking to upgrade. Its blend of traditional charm and modern tech hits the sweet spot. If you're stepping into the DJ world or just want to add a new gadget to your arsenal, the T7 is definitely worth considering. It’s not just a controller; it’s an experience that rekindles the joy of mixing music.

This is a great mid range controller, that comes with some pretty outstanding features for this price point, which also includes two different software suites to help control almost anything you can throw at it.The knobs, buttons, switches are all on point, everything feels good and fluid, from button presses to the sliders motion, and if that isn't enough, it also has the ability to upgrade the entire fade section with a premium version if you so desire down the road. One of the main things I like about this T7, is that it includes two working (moving) platters, which gives it a realistic turntable feel, it also includes two real 7 inch vinyls and slipmats, which can be replaced with your own custom ones which is a welcomed feature.Setting this all up and ... MoreThis is a great mid range controller, that comes with some pretty outstanding features for this price point, which also includes two different software suites to help control almost anything you can throw at it.The knobs, buttons, switches are all on point, everything feels good and fluid, from button presses to the sliders motion, and if that isn't enough, it also has the ability to upgrade the entire fade section with a premium version if you so desire down the road. One of the main things I like about this T7, is that it includes two working (moving) platters, which gives it a realistic turntable feel, it also includes two real 7 inch vinyls and slipmats, which can be replaced with your own custom ones which is a welcomed feature.Setting this all up and getting it working was a pretty fun process, I really need to upgrade my monitors (speakers) for this unit but I like that everything can back flow into my laptop's headset and or a headset plugged directly into the unit itself. (I preferred having my laptop as the primary sound source for the intial setup process so I could get all the music/effects in place prehand, then switched over to the speakers at the end when I was actually using the controller). Initially it didn't take long to setup which was also nice.pros:2 motorized platters for 7” discs with touch detection (33 1/3 RPM, ability to change to 45 RPM with upgrade to Serato DJ "PRO")The unit has 4 retractable feet that raises the unit a few inches up, allowing for wire and or spill management16 backlit RGB pads (8 pads x 8 modes per deck)Loop In/Loop Out buttons, loop encoder, Stems controls3 Fx Select buttons, 1 paddle and 1 Filter knob per deck & 1 control knob, Beat -/+ buttons, pitch bend << / >>2 master outputs (2x XLR + 2x RCA)2 headphone outputs (1/4" / 6.35mm + 1/8" / 3.5mm stereo mini-jack)1 microphone input (1/4" / 6.35mm jack (balanced))The fader section is upgradable to a premium fader as wellIncludes Serato DJ Lite, featuring the latest real-time Stems technology, and DJUCED. *Compatible w/ Serato DJ ProMix with music streaming services including TIDAL and SoundCloud GO+ in Serato DJ Lite, and Beatport LINK and Qobuz in DJUCED (*subscription to music streaming service required)cons: to be frank if you are not very tech savy, and have never used something like this before, this whole setup process could be a little intimidating.Luckily I have had many years to become familiar with tech and things like this so it wasn't overly complicated.I was able to source out a few youtube videos that could help in the initial setup of this unit and I would recommend anyone looking for initial help to head over there and search out the Hercules devices and or the DJUCED & Serato software for setup and help, if you so require it, as that should get you sorted out and up and running quickly.Overall, I would have to take a small stab and say this is the best price point controller on the market currently, you would be well troubled to find something better at this price. If music is your passion and you are looking at getting into this scene, or if you are looking to upgrade your current system, I would have to say this will sincerely be the unit to get into it with. You could always start with something smaller/cheaper if you are just starting out but you will be missing all the features of the bigger more expensive controllers out there that let you do so much more, so with this unit you are getting a taste of just about everything you would with the higher end units for half the price but still getting a fantastic experience while doing so.I would definitly recommend checking out the DJ CONTROL INPULSE T7

Let’s beat & scratch!

This is such a cool controller, and it’s definitely easy for a beginner and more! Upon opening the box I’m met by a pretty decently sized dj controller/turntable; not large but definitely not a small unit which is great for me to begin my journey. The black brushed metal finish around the platters looks nice but I quickly found out it’s actually plastic. I, and my kids, love the colors of the cue buttons (though I know that’s not majorly important, but it matters to some people). For stability, the T7 has retractable feet which have a “sticky” feel to them, making sure your controller stays in place. But having the ability to extend or retract then gives you a bit of range depending on your preference and setup. The T7 comes with a good amount of sound and fx options to start with. You have your standard master controls, headphone and mic controls, treble, mods and lows, along with filters along with fx sets for each platter with 3 built-in fx per side, along with depth control. You also have the ability to upgrade the fader! So, if you need a bit more durability for your cross and channel faders, you have the option to upgrade to premium faders. The one offered by Hercules has a gold-plated faceplate, if that’s up your alley. There’s also the lovely beatmatch guide (which I’ve personally found EXTREMELY helpful. Each deck also comes with 8 cue buttons along with a hot cue, loop, stems, and sampler buttons. Also included are 2-7” vinyls and 2 slip mats. I thought there would be 2 thickness options of slip mats but I only received one set.The connections provided are XLR master out (left and right), RCA outputs, a mic input, and your USB connection for your laptop. Unfortunately, there’s not an option for a direct USB connection for a thumb drive. You also receive access to Serato and DJUICED for software options. Now, for my thoughts….this is a very easy and straightforward controller which almost anyone can grasp instantly, at least to get started. The very first problem came when I (like anyone else with a brand new turntable would do) tried to scratch. (This is where the slip mats come into play). The platters, though motorized and can be wonderful, feel pretty stiff and lacked any slip when scratching. I’m not sure if this is due to the motor of the platters and/or the slip mats. The feel is gentle, but immediately met by the “end” of the scratch. I moved on and loaded a few tracks to get started. I found my savior, the beatmatch guide. I like many genres of music and they are all different tempos, so learning how to use the beatmatch guide was a huge necessity and help for me. On the lower corner of the platters says “tempo” which will remain illuminated in red if the tempo is off….but once you use your parameter & tempo controls to align the platters, “tempo” will then illuminate green. Once I saw green, I knew I was good to get the party going…..so I thought lol.The second major thing that stood out was volume control. I have the unit connected via the XLR master output with the gain and master volume setting at the 3rd notch. When I got a track started, I scared both my wife and my dog! Now this could be human error, but I would think this volume would have been a lot lower given the master and gains were all turned to a reasonable level.I dabbled with the hot cue and fx trying to get a good sound, and succeeded, but still need practice. I found the button response to be pretty quick and accurate, and if I’m off in my selection I can simply use my shift button and deselect my choice to correct it. I also added in the pre-loaded fx which aren’t bad at all, but takes a bit of getting used to and learning when to drop them into the set.I’m far from performing at EDC, Ultra or any of those amazing shows, but the T7 can definitely get me a solid spot mixing and scratching somewhere very soon! I strongly suggest this unit for anyone just starting out, or anyone with some experience and not wanting to break the bank on a controller. The T7 gives a solid range of options and fx for a very good price.

The Hercules DJControl Inpulse T7 marks a significant step forward for aspiring DJs, blending the classic feel of vinyl with the advantages of digital control. The Beatmatch Guide and Intelligent Music Assistant in DJUCED, along with Autoplay in Serato, are particularly helpful for those new to the craft. However, I encountered some initial challenges in getting the software to recognize the hardware, requiring adjustments in the sound settings on my Windows 11 system – a known issue that Serato is actively addressing. The T7's design is both practical and innovative. The retractable feet are a clever addition, allowing for easy laptop placement and cable management during sets. The motorized platters are a standout feature, providing a smooth and responsive feel akin to traditional turntables. The ease of adjusting the amplitude of the crossfader and the comprehensive FX section further enhance the controller's versatility. In terms of performance, the T7 excels with its solid build quality and responsive controls. The tactile feedback from the buttons and knobs is reassuring, and the motorized platters add a level of realism that is hard to find in this price range. The use of solid-state drives is recommended for smoother performance, especially when handling larger audio files.Pros:Authentic turntable feel with motorized plattersRetractable feet for convenient laptop placementAdjustable crossfader and comprehensive FX sectionSolid build quality and responsive controlsCompatible with Serato DJ Lite and DJUCED®Cons:Known hardware recognition issues that are currently being investigatedNo tutorials available on the manufacturer's websiteOverall, the Hercules DJControl Inpulse T7 is a commendable choice for those stepping into the world of DJing, offering a blend of traditional feel and modern functionality. While there are some setup challenges, the overall experience is rewarding, making it a worthy investment for budding DJs.

I've always had a passion for music and have always wanted to pursue DJing as a hobby. My family has a lot of gatherings and music is always a big deal when we get together. When I ordered this, I couldn’t wait to get it. It's important to know that this hobby can get expensive quickly, but this mixer is a huge centerpiece of whatever setup or purpose you have for it. The mixer itself has two platters that simulate vinyl mixers and include two sets of slip mats that help with scratching. I put both of them on so I didn’t lose them, but they are easy to remove from the platters. You can also add your own if you have them as they are standard size platters. The platters simulate scratching effects and work great. The mixer also has retractable feet on the bottom that allows you to set it up higher in the back and low in the front or vice versa. You can also just leave the feet folded up and use it on a flat surface. The faders are also replaceable. Hercules sells an upgraded fader module for a small price and is easy to install yourself so there is no need to take it a shop to have it done. The FX section is also a pretty nice addition to this setup. This allows you to change the frequencies of your music and adjusts the bass, mid and treble which helps you adjust your mixes. The beatmatch guide is also a great feature especially for rookies like myself. Once you upload the music into the software, it can scan the track to determine the BPM’s so you can transition or ensure your next track matches the tempo. This mixer includes DJ Serato Lite and DJuiced software for you to use. You can upgrade to Serato Pro for an additional cost, but unless you are a pro, I would stay with the lite version until you. What I really like about the software, is that there are internal lessons that can show you how to use the mixer. That was invaluable to me as a newbie. I played with this thing for hours and I still feel like I don’t know anything, but the lessons definitely gave me some confidence in learning what to do. Im definitely not ready for any DJ battles, but I’m having a good time learning what to do with it.I am using this mixer with a laptop and setting it up was easy. The mixer has RCA inputs and a USB cable that you connect to your laptop. I’m having a ball learning this and I have the added benefit of learning alongside my 12 year old son who really wants to use it. Once I learn a bit more about it, I’ll be picking some powered speakers and a carrying case. I’m pretty excited to finally have a hobby that I enjoy while learning. There is so much I can say about this mixer but to be honest, you really need to go out and get one so you can see for yourself. I highly recommend this mixer for amateurs and pros alike.

This Brought Back the DJ out of this Dad!

I continued to DJ up until I had cancer and had to sell all my equipment to keep my kids fed. Well, a few years later and enter the chance to enjoy what I find as the quickest and best overall DJ setup money can buy.I still had my old Monitors and my go to headphones, grabbed my Laptop, signed in and started the setup. Once you download Serato DJ Lite and DJUICED, you can start playing within minutes if you know the software. I am new to DJUICED and familiar with Serato, so this was going to be a challenge to come back and to be on new software. I was able to utilize an older software but many functions were not working so it looks like I am using these. Now, my laptop is a gaming powerhouse yet I was getting low ram warnings with Serato and I have to dig in deeper why as my PC has 32gb and the minimum is 8gb. Make sure to download all the free beats and clips from Serato, they get you started digitally fast, I am currently now using Beatport and Soundcloud as all my old Vinyl which I still need transfer into digital format soon, waiting on a device to help with that. Now, plug in that USB cable and throw some track in and get ready to touch that amazing 7" platter covered in a thick and quality slip mat and a real vinyl discs or take them all off for a great feel on the edge of the platter, reminded me of my old T branded platters. Time to listen to your new passion, turn on the monitors, start song 1, grab those headphones and get ready to use the beat matching to get song two in sync so fast it is scary, I felt lazy but also scared me how fast it adjusted it. Being able to beat match on the fly is crazy all while using the FX boards as well, they have made it too easy to be honest. Here comes the time to blend, touch that slider and enjoy the smooth and linear feel that does not let you just flick it across, you can still but you will have much less mishaps with the feel of the Hercules sliders on this entire deck. All the knobs have the same linear feel and never go father then you wanted, great feel compared to the old days of so many mixers having sloppy feeling hardware. I then started giving the one button stem controls and FX buttons a try, setting up for this was easier than I thought, it was something completely new to me as I used to use a laptop to do this, now I have buttons that have shown me you can get WAY more creative on the deck that I ever imagined. Now, I have to talk about the platters more, more than just the feel, I really like how I can hit cue and the song will start yet the platters stay stationary, yet once I hit play, they spin. This feature helps me tremendously with time alignment as I mark my platters or vinyl with cue and scratch marks for distance, an old trick that always helped my movement distances. The platters are belt driven, I can only imaging that it is for cost reasons and to help keep the retail down. I can say though it does not affect the feel of the platters one bit, a 7" platter can easily handle belt driven and not feel any less than you would expect. Scratching on them is a breeze, I am rusty yet I still was able to get a great sound after a few hours of practice.I really enjoy the speed slider, and all sliders, they can have the range and speed adjusted on the fly with the shift button as well, the trickery of this was mind blowing once I figured out how to properly use this feature, I did not read anything prior, I was at this point. Adding in the FX buttons and here came the new fun I have been really getting into using the past few days. Using the FX preloaded into the software of your choice, you can setup per side to utilize the effects with the ease of a hitting one of the buttons located under the filter knobs and then go either up or down on the smooth switches next to them. Each deck has its own filter knob as well so you can utilize your effects along with the filters to help change or bring in a new song or add a beat. And below all that is a button to select your crossfader function. Want to mix, scratch, or turn it off? Just select the way and it instantly changes.Taking your T7 around is easy, I had to move it for a few days until my new table came in and what I found the most helpful for running wires underneath were the extended feet. Raising the T7 up 3.5" helps with cords going underneath and if you have clumsy kids, fluids out of your mixer if you have to play on the kitchen table, I may have had to the first 2 days. Also, you have 2 headphones outputs in the front, 3.5mm and a 1/4" jack and you can add your microphone to the back, also where your RCA outputs are located to take your sound to your amp or monitors.I am really loving the Hercules T7, I am really getting into the groove again with my old craft, maybe I will get to play at one of my kids weddings in a few years. Thanks Hercules!!!
