The first version of Eau d'Orange Verte dates from 1979 and was created by Françoise Caron. Jean-Claude Ellena revisits this water, adding nuances, for a more in-depth 2009 edition that offers more outfits. When the warm seasons come, it’s one of those fresh classics I love to wear. A water that offers an instant "pschit" of freshness. The notes of green citrus are well worked and accentuated by the blackcurrant bud. The notes are both green, zesty and almost powdery. Here, the addition of oak moss is subtle and remains pleasant to my nose.

If you like Hugo Boss's orange, you'll like this one better - or at least you ought to.The initial orange is a superb recreation, far different than the citrus top notes of many other perfumes. Strange that the notes list lemon and mandarin, but no actual orange. It took me several wearings before I could make out the mango, but like one of those magic eye 3D images, once you've got it, it reveals itself to you effortlessly. Soft and peachy.It's woody and earthy too when it develops. Luckily the middle and top notes never really disappear, they politely make way for the oakmoss and patchouli, but you keep bumping into them.All this winds down into a lovely, soft, powdery finale. Chic and refined.

So glad Space NK stock this now. I got a bottle years ago as a gift which was bought during a holiday in France. It was extremely hard to find in person or in stores in the UK for years, and always seemed to be the Hermes perfume that slipped between the cracks. It's very easy to wear. It's a unisex scent, fresh but aromatic. The orange and mint notes are really interesting together and not a combination you see often. I'm extremely excited to get my hands on another bottle now!
I use the eau de toilette as well as this scent of body lotion almost daily. It's very fresh, not too sweet or floral and the lotion is often just enough on its own. I spray sparingly warm spots on my body but try to get more of it on my clothes. Cloth seems to wear it longer than my skin. This is a fragrance that in this form could be overdone.The lotion, however, lingers all day and holds its own. Together, layered, I wear for a more special occasion. This is indeed an orange based scent but it doesn't smell strongly of the fruit as if you shredded the rind. Green is how I would describe this fragrance. It's like a walk in the woods with a small breeze blowing through the trees.
I can say right away that this is not a fragrance for every day. I use it on vacation and on special occasions, depending on my mood.The best association will be with freshness and purity, something like this)Persistence is normal, sharpness in the aroma is not observed. I love the fact that this scent is unisex, it's somehow chic and feminine without being overly girly. I also love how crisp and fruity it smells, giving you timeless elegance. I've been using it this past summer and was about to change my scent for the fall, but I find it actually seems to be fitting for all seasons, due to its light nature. I also love the packing and love that it's travel-friendly. I've been wanting this for years and finally decided to splurge and I think it's worth every penny. It does fade more easily than stronger perfumes, which is understandable since it's not an overpowering scent. I prefer this, as I'm someone that likes my scents to always be subtle so that those around me get an occasional whiff of the smell rather than a persisting scent.
