An excellent expansion

The Frozwn Horror adds 10 new quests, 3 new enemy types, a massive and challenging boss, and a dozen mercenaries. The quests are very challenging, but the online supplement "Into the Northlands" does a great job of giving you more tools to tweak the difficulty as needed. The mercenaries are also a great way to give heroes a little boost to compensate for the increased challenge posed by the new monsters and traps. As for components, the miniatures are highly detailed and quite easy to paint and the cardboard tokens are double-sided like those from the Game System, not white-backed like the ones from Kellar's Keep and Return of the Witch Lord. Overall, I am very satisfied with this expansion, and I am comfortable saying that it is my favorite of those released so far.

Another great release!

The Frozen Horror expansion is amazing, recreating and improving on the original in every way! I love the new designs on the mercenaries and the sculpting on the new enter/exit doors, but of course all the new miniatures look great. I also like that the new female barbarian figure is sculpted in red plastic to match the other heroes. Now we just need the Elf questpack and the original HeroQuest collection will be completely recreated!

Awesome nostalgia trip

We had the original Heroquest back in the day. My friends and I would create our own adventures, adding different minis and drawing our own accessory pieces. These new sets bring back all of that nostalgia and I am loving it. I have ordered all the new and upcoming sets and they have so far been worth every penny. The games are totally high quality for a surprisingly good price. I am shocked by how fast new expansions are being released. So freaking awesome.

Expanded Rules and Minions
2 September 2022

The Frozen Horror expansion brings minions (hired henchmen) to the game, as well as new monsters and tile pieces with special rules. Most of the story and treasures are intended for the Barbarian hero. Hopefully we'll be seeing more class specific adventures and treasures to balance the other party members.

Extremely broken difficulty - glitches galore, but there's a digital fix!
11 February 2023

When this expansion first came out in 1992, it had more variety and content even than the Elf Quest Pack that came out about the same time (both were North American exclusives). The hardest thing for kids back then was that both packs were available in stores or through the mail for such a short time before they disappeared and now are insanely priced online. Had more of us children played them we would have been shocked at how frustratingly difficult they were, not just by design but by clear lack of playtesting. While this is a faithful re-creation (barring obvious name changes to avoid trademark infringement with Warhammer lore owned by GamesWorkShop) of the 1992 ediiton with modern aesthetic, the improvements that clarify rules and make the adventure much better ... MoreWhen this expansion first came out in 1992, it had more variety and content even than the Elf Quest Pack that came out about the same time (both were North American exclusives). Without this digital quest, I would give this a lower rating. Because you have to use the the internet or a phone to find the fixes, I docked it one star. The inclusion of bonus "Zargon" dice that are clear blue (and higher quality than the old dice) is great, I love them. I also love that there are 12 mercenaries which is a big improvement over the original 6 (you will need as much help as you can get on these very difficult quests!). The biggest problem was the Yeti in the solo quests. They introduced a mechanic in the App to escape the "hug" and prevent them from automatically hugging when doing damage in the solo quests AND added the option to have a friendly wolf join the solo Barbarian (see "Into the Northlands"). Thank you Doug Hopkins and Avalon Hill for the late, but very welcome "patch"!

Frozen Horror impressions
2 September 2022

I received the Frozen Horror set, and upon unboxing I was very impressed with everything. I know there has been a lot of flak about pieces being bent and/or broken in this and especially the Heroquest game itself, but I experienced no issues whatsoever, and have to wonder if it could be a fault of the shipping companies used. I am excited to play this with my children when they're a bit older, and I am thrilled Hasbro is remaking Heroquest for the younger generation, and older folks who cut their teeth on board gaming with Heroquest like myself. I am sure Hasbro is aware of the nostalgia people have for this game, but I do want to send a big thank you to them for this project. Without Heroquest, I strongly feel modern board gaming as we know it would not exist.

I am impressed with the effort put into remaking this old game expansion pack. I have the original base system, but did not get this back in the day (couldn't afford it then). This expansion re-release not only delivers higher quality (in terms of material and sculpting), but brings it at around the same price the original expansion was around 30 years ago! Many thanks to you guys for making this. I look forward to seeing more.

Meaty expansion for the greatest ever board game!
6 November 2022

The Frozen Horror is an excellent add-on pack to the mighty HeroQuest. There’s a generous selection of miniatures with the the Frozen Horror itself being a mighty figure. 10 new quests plus additional cards spells and floor tiles. It really is a great package. Cheers

This is a great expansion pack. I love all of the rereleases that have been put out so far. Hate that I missed the initial release but I have picked up the rest of the packs as they have been released. I like on iPad ap as well it’s been a great addition. This was a pack that I missed in the 90s release of the game. Can’t wait to see what else is coming in the future, for now we will continue creating new memories with our kids.
