A friend recommended High5 many years ago when I was first starting out in running. Since then I've used it to complete many half marathons, and up to Ironman distance triathlons. Buying in a tub offers great value for money. MySupplementShop regularly have offers on it. I order a new tub every few months changing between berry, citrus and tropical flavours. My typical usage is 2.5-3 scoops into a 750ml bottle. I'd recommend putting powder in first, filling 80% with water and giving a good shake before topping it up.... Show more

Great flavours & Taste perfect for long Workouts
I use this product when I'm cycling. I usually ride 50 miles plus each ride so want a drink with some carbs in it as a source of fuel. I have tried all of the flavours in the range and like them all. It is easily mixed in water unlike some brands which tend to clump up and not dissolve. It seems to have the right balance as it tastes a little bit sweet but not too sweet or sickly. I have tried other products in the past but keep coming back to this one. It is especially good on hot summer days when you sweat lots as it provides a good electrolyte balance.... Show more

High 5 is one of my go to brands for sports nutrition and this doesn't disappoint. Tip: as with many powders, this may not mix easily in cold water. I heat (not boil) up to 100ml of water in the kettle and gradually pour in the powder as I whisk. Then top up cold water (and optionally ice cubes to aid cooling. Once it doesn't feel warm you can stick it in the fridge. Putting hot liquids in the fridge or freezer makes it work too hard and also wastes electricity. So, it's best to prepare powdered drinks the night before or at least as early as possible before your activity.... Show more

I have been using SIS and fancied a switch for this year after trying a sample. I used it on a ride on Sunday which I rode also last week. Ride prep was the same but the difference was I used High5 4:1. 60 miles later and at the end of the ride I still had a good set of legs on me on the last hill home plus clamed a KOM and PB! A fantastic ride and some may say a lot of veribles, but I am very happy. It can also be used in recovery which I found is a lot softer on the guts than most other products. A great product. Fast delivery and a competive price. 1x happy rider. :)... Show more

I'm trying to improve my cycling and nutrition is hugely important. Before, during and after exercise all needs to be considered, sometimes with different products. I tried a starter kit from a different company with three different powders, but didn't like the taste, or the fact that the powders all contained aspartame. I then ordered 1.6kg of Energy Source 4:1 in summer fruits. Unlike many sports drinks it contains protein, which means it can be used as a recovery drink as well as during exercise. It also contains electrolytes to replace any lost in sweat. The taste is good, a bit like a raspberry flavoured ice lolly, but the biggest difference is that it goes down very well, whereas the previous drink I tried always felt as though I was having to force it. It really feels as though it keeps me going longer as well, rather than losing energy part of the way through a long session on the bike. So for a good all-round product, which really seems to keep me going, I give Energy Source 4:1 a pretty solid 4 stars.... Show more

I've been using this (and other flavours) for years. Originally - and still - used for off-road cycling, but now also used during tennis. It's my 'secret sauce': when everyone else is flagging towards the end of a *very amateur* session/game, I'm the only one not flagging. If only I could also play tennis better...! :o) On a more serious note, the combination of water (used to mix it), sugars and salts (note, more than just sodium chloride), it's an all-in-one solution - no pun intended... well, just a bit! I just wished I'd discovered this stuff before I bought separate energy gels and salts replacements. Most of which, I still have since starting to use this.... Show more

Not sure about this. One thing to note is, if you overload the measurement guide, the flavour is nasty. I have been using this for a week or so. My thoughts are: will it boost your energy? Maybe, it certainly makes you think so. Taste - I bought the berry-flavored one. If you follow the correct powder-to-water ratios, then you're fine; it’s nice to taste something better than water. However, it’s unlikely I would buy it again. If you’re into extreme sports, then this might be your thing. For a casual sports or fitness person, I am sure Robinsons syrup fruit juice would keep you hydrated and give you plenty of calories to use.... Show more

One of the few powders that I could drink 6
One of the few powders that I could drink 6 bottles of during a really long day. The carb / protein mix is designed for intense repetitive training or touring. I find it really useful on rides over 4 hours as it seems to prolong the time before I feel like I am running on empty. For shorter rides I use a bottle of the high 5 carb energy source and then have this in my second bottle. 3 scoops per 750ml bottle. Unlike mojito, this is actually drinkable without any sickness feeling or dodgy tummy! I have a 600km, 4 day ride coming up and it will be essential!... Show more

Taste Good!
I'm new to cycling (started March of this year) but I've been some pretty long rides and had my first century in August (doing my second this coming January). During that time span, I've tried various different sports drinks ranging from powdered Gatorade, SIX Nutrition Hydra, E-Fuel to Citomax. Gatorade was too sweet, Hydra was good but had that weird after taste (like you get from diet coke) and E-Fuel and Citomax also had an aftertaste. So I decided to try this drink and got the Summer Citrus. This drink taste awesome, it's sweet but has the citrus twist that offsets it. I also don't cramp with this drink likely because of the Whey Protein. If you're a beginner biker, this should be the drink to try. However, do not by this drink on MYSUPPLEMENTSHOP unless you ... I bought two of these from ChainReactionCycles.com at $23 each and only $9.99 shipping which arrived in 6 days coming from UK. I paid $60 for two at the price of one here in MYSUPPLEMENTSHOP.... You need this in your life!
I absolutely love this stuff. Hit the 2nd month of the Insanity program and was completing the DVD's but felt so fatigued after them. Was literally taking all my attention to do basic things in the evening after the workout. I started using this through the 1 hour sessions and I wouldn't say it improved my performance directly, but allowed me to focus more. Afterwards I didn't feel as fatigued and could carry on with my evening like I would usually without feeling lethargic, ready for the next day's workout. Excellent formula. Perfect 4:1 golden ratio of carbs to protein; citrus flavour tastes like the old isostar drinks, absolutely love it. Well done High5!... Show more
