Hikari pellets are pretty much the gold standard in freshwater fish food. These arrived fairly quickly, weren't damaged, and were exactly as ordered. Aside from that, I definitely recommend using Hikari products (there are a LOT). Your fish will be healthier and happier.

We have little glowlights tetras that are so tiny still and they can't eat the foods the other fish can eat so we got baby brine for frozen food time at night and we needed flake food for the mornings so I found these to try. The glowlights love them and can eat them easily. They are growing more now that they have food to fit their little mouths. These pellets float and slowly sink over time and are of a pinkish red color that is easily seen in the tank. They are supposed to be balanced nutritional for smaller community fish. A small pinch out of the bag will fill the tank with so many pellets so be careful when feeding. We feed extra because our bigger fish want in on them too so a pinch gets the glowlights plenty and the big fish a snack. We do frozen/freeze dried for optimal color in our tanks but like our flake food to nutritional sound but also enhance colors and this claims to do so also. It's a small bag that is packed full of micro pellets and we paid 4.49 for the bag and it will go a really long way.

My Beta loves this food. It is small enough for him to easily eat, and s÷ms to brighten his color. A little goes a long way. The small package can last several mind of used correctly. My only complaint is the way it comes out of the package. I find it easier to just spoil the entire package into a small sealed container, rather than use it right out of the package.

My glofish tetras we're less than enthusiastic about the branded flake food. I did some research and decided to try these pellets because they're smaller for my new tetras' mouths. I'm so glad I did. The fish really seemed to enjoy this food. Not one pellet made it to the bottom of the tank. I will absolutely buy this again.
These are readily accepted by my fishes. The only thing about Hikari is that they have a lot of fillers. Hikari has been around a long time and I have use their other products in the past. A lot of brands are stepping up and making higher quality, with better ingredients. Like New Life Spectrum, Northfin etc, and I think it’s time for Hikari to step up also.
I've got a planted community tank set up with an Ehiem auto feeder. Goes through the feeder easily without blocking and most importantly the fish love it. Floats for a good amount of time before it sinks to give them all a chance of a feed. My go to fish food.
I have cherry barbs, neon tetras and zebra danios. These pellets fit perfectly into their little mouths. I also like that can be sinking or floating so it helps all the fish get their portion of food. I purchased a different brand of small pellet but they're not as micro as these.
Bought for the first time to feed my leopard danio/ cardinal tetra/ harlequin rasbora (and others) ... they took to it very well and were swarming at the top to get more. The tiny pellets sank really quickly though, but that wasn't too much of a problem. On a side note, be careful when you open it the first time. I accidentally spilt quite a bit on the carpet when I initially ripped open the packet as the zip lock seal was not done up! Easy mistake.
this is definitely on my top 3 dry foods for your freshwater fish. the red color will make it easy for your fish to spot them. the float on top first, but it will eventually sink after a bit of water movement, this is an important thing to consider when feeding community tank, since you will have some fish that will be staying on top, and some that will be roaming on the mid or the bottom side of your community tank.
hikari is always a great fish food brand, and my fish love this one! i used to feed them flakes but it gave them swim bladder because they would constantly go up for air when feeding. these pellets float for a bit and then sink slowly, which makes it great for all sorts of fish! there’s no strong smell, and this size is perfect for smaller and pickier fish. i do wish it came in a plastic jar sort of thing instead of an aluminum bag though, it would’ve been easier to feed them from a jar/container. i just put it in my own mason jar though, so it all worked out in the end! my fish love this product a lot, too!
