I am very happy now my new clothesline is up and it looks great I was a bit surprised when taking it out of the box that there was no protective cover over the paint and there were a few scratches caused from the friction of rubbing during transport. It is doing a great job now and can’t really notice them...

Seems to be good quality. I like that can be locked into place when hanging washing so doesn’t fly around in the wind. Can then be lifted to swing to dry washing. No plastic coverings over the holes so will be interesting to see how the lines deteriorate in the sun as that’s what happened with our last line.

We purchased this clothesline to replace our previous Hills fold away line which stood in our back yard for 23 years. The tension keys on the line finally began to break after years in the sun. This new Rotary 47 exactly fitted the original ground socket which saved having to install a new hole. Whilst still a 7 line hoist, the new one is slightly smaller than the original but can still accommodate a queen sheet on the outer most line without problems. Hills have also changed the tensioning method and no longer use the key method. Overall a good purchase and very good service from Lifestyle Clothelines. Thank you.

Very disappointing to say the least. My old 7 line Hills Rotary Hoist Clothesline was much better in terms of build, durability and materials used compared to my new 7 line Hills Rotary Hoist Clothesline. Not worth the price I paid as it’s made in China with very cheap parts and looks are laughable. NEVER again will I buy a Hills Clothesline!
It has now been fitted securely (cement etc.) in a more convenient location for me. Care was taken to ensure a comfortable height for me, without compromising safety of anybody needing to access my yard. I wish I had updated the old rotary clothesline years ago, I hadn’t realised how much I was needlessly struggling with the winding device, despite care of the mechanism over the years.
What an easy to use, perfectly sized hoist. Always thought the Hills Hoist with its rotary mechanism was the best invention ever- and it still trumps all other inert clothes lines. Love it! This is the perfect Queen size sheet Hoist and fits loads. Installation was efficient, quick and professional, thanks Lifestyle! Would only have preferred a one tone green for line and Hoist. It would help it to better 'disappear' into the green environment. Apart from that, who would not love its ability to be removed and it's fold down feature. A great buy indeed.
I have finally been able to use the new Clothesline I bought a couple of weeks ago due to all the rain we've had. Whereas I find the line very good, I feel as though the quality isn't quite the same as the old line, which was over 2 years old. The material in this line feels a bit thinner than than the old one and the winder as well as the clip holding the line up feel a bit flimsy. (However time will tell on these) The only real complaint is, the tie line that is used to hold the line together when it's down is about 25MM too short, you have to thread it through the line to be able to clip it back on itself to be able to hold the line together. Luckily there was no preparation needed to install this line as it went straight into the hole from the old one.
Purchased to replace the identical model bought over 10 years ago. The tensioning process on this new model is not user friendly the previous version was definitely better - it looks like it was changed to reduce production costs. This is a line that can be taken down. I found that the clip that holds the line in place for use ha s a tenancy to slip off in a breeze causing the whole line to fold in. I ended up using a cable tie to hold in place. Possibly a two clips on opposite sides would have been better. Other than the above it does its job as expected.
I do not usually complain about things that I buy so it is some years since I bought the above. For some reason the manufacturer has designed the clothesline with the arms sloping upward.This means that the outer line is about 150mm higher from the ground than it would be if the arms were horizontal with the ground. From prior falls, all the tendons in my shoulders are torn. As I grow older, reaching up has become more and more painful. My physiotherapist asked me when the shoulders are the most painful and I told her “when hanging out the clothes”. She said I should write to you so you could advise the manufacturer of this problem and hopefully avoid others experiencing this difficulty. Thank you for your attention.Fred Rudwick
I have had and used a Hills Rotary clothesline in some form for over fifty years and this one is the best yet! The service was great and delivery arranged very smoothly. I required installation and removal of the antique Hills rotary. Dallas contacted me and arranged to attend for installation. He was polite, helpful and efficient. The spot where the old line used to be cannot now be seen. The line works a treat, easy to wind up and down, moves smoothly in the breeze.
