I trust HILLS products and it was a very pleasant experience purchasing from this website. Regarding this particular products, we have started to use it for 2 months and one of my two cats (who doesn't have urinary problems and can actually eat ordinary food) absolutely in love with this product. My second cat who has urinary problems and needed to be on a diet forever, not as excited, but most importantly he hen's been seek since he is on the prescribed diet. I would recommend this product!

For a formula that says it limits Magnesium Phosphorus and Calcium it sure has a lot of it compared to my other brand. Too bad Petco specifically states I can't name competitors. Why am I paying double and depending on the retailer/time of year sometimes almost triple the cost of other brands for this food for them to supposedly limit these three ingredients the (also supposedly) cause the stones - although there has been very limited studies since the 80s that have contradictory outcomes about that. ANYWAYS... If it works for your cats, I am glad for you. I am just probably upset because the dry food has so much comparatively and the wet food doesn't even list their Magnesium Phosphorus or Calcium contents (min or max) and I just paid for the third ER visit in 3 ... I am just probably upset because the dry food has so much comparatively and the wet food doesn't even list their Magnesium Phosphorus or Calcium contents (min or max) and I just paid for the third ER visit in 3 less than years for my kitty and this is all I'm feeding him with struvite crystals (the kind that should be able to be controlled with food so they tell me). At least the dang cat eats the stuff. My last cat (dearly departed) hated the weight-controlled version and refused to even entertain the stuff.
My senior cat is a rescue and came to us with a lot of baggage. Over the years there have been numerous occasions when she has urinated outside the litter tray. A complete nightmare to be honest, but we have persevered because we love her. This Multicare Stress Urinary Care has been absolutely wonderful. She's calmer and uses the litter tray more regularly and she also loves the taste. All-in-all, this product is effective in multiple ways and keeps our cat in a good frame of mind while taking care of her urinary health.
My very anxious cat was having issues with frequent visits to the litter box. Two vets have examined her and both are leaning towards a diagnosis of FIC. She’s being transitioned to an all wet diet, but prefers eating dry food to wet. She is not crazy about wet food. The Hills Stress c/d wet doesn’t have much gravy, so she eats it reluctantly. I feed it to her in small doses. She is crazy about the dry food and gobbles it up. The food has helped normalize her trips to the litter box. She’s been on the new diet for 2 weeks and so far, no additional trips to the vet so it appears to be helping her.,
After an emergency trip to the vet, and then a few followup visits, it was determined that my outdoor, semi-feral cat suffered from stress related urinary issues. He has a very nice setup and shelter outdoors, however, he would sometimes have these urinary flare ups after we were away on vacation (he still got fed) or if there had been some days of severe weather, or we also suspected that sightings of certain other animals in the area would also trigger his symptoms. He would go through bouts of urinating every couple of minutes for 5/6 times before it would subside temporarily, to squatting to urinate motionless for 5-10 minutes at a time, to even having urine with blood in it a few times. Ultimately, this food was recommended by the vet. I was somewhat hopeful ... Ultimately, this food was recommended by the vet. I was somewhat hopeful after reading reviews on this food, and after a little over a year on this food, my cat's issues have decreased dramatically. Because of the high cost, I sometimes mix a little 'over the counter' cat food in when things look stable with him, and then if I see that he is starting to exhibit symptoms, I feed him this food 100% and the symptoms will subside. It really has helped. Something to note, however, is that he gained quite a bit of weight on this food, even though I followed the feeding guidelines on the package. The vet had me reduce the amount I was feeding him in order to get him back to a better weight.
Our under 2yr old cat was fine on store brought food until we started to slowly packing boxes for our upcoming move. Slowly he worsened with urinary problems.Medication somewhat worked but unfortunately we were still packing. Had more medication but ended up needing the surgery to unblock him, on a public holiday of course.$3,500 total later....Since being home, this special food is the only permanent solution we've found to prevent a repeat vet visit as he started showing signs again with other urinary brands.Yes it's pricey but happy to spend the $70 every 3 weeks instead of another $3.5K with the possibility of our furbaby being sick & dying.
My poor boy has continual problems with blocked urinary tract, triggered by stress. He was doing just fine on a cheaper brand for a few years but moving homes and then renovations in new home was too much for him. Luckily got him to the vet who managed to unblock him.. only an hour or so from being put down. Have switched to this food and he is a lot more comfortable, much more snugglier as well. Obviously the other brand was working but no-where as effectively as this one is. Unfortunately, I had just ordered 144 sachets of the other brand.. hope my other cat likes it!
My cats liked it but It is way too expensive and misleading. There are other brands out there at the fraction of the cost that work. "I am" not going to so say what I got but maybe you can figure it out because "I am" pretty sure it prbly isn't allowed to say their name in a review. .After reading reviews along with figuring out the percentages of what needs to be in the food to be safe for my kitties, it got real clear to change over to something more affordable and just as good. There is nothing in this food that is special to make it so expensive. I called Hills and they said we are paying for all the scientists that continually work for them to create and test this food. There is nothing in it that makes it special to cost this much money(I asked). They told me ... MoreMy cats liked it but It is way too expensive and misleading. There is nothing in it that makes it special to cost this much money(I asked). They told me it is not what is in it but it is how it is formulated. Take that as you will. I asked them what was in it that dissolves the stones...there is nothing in it that does this because they could not answer that and again answered with the things I said above. Very misleading when reading the bag. Lastly, I'm, also, not impressed with finding big pieces of food that almost looked like dog food in my bag...Almost 100 bucks for a 17lb bag of cat food, I expect high quality and nothing less. IMO, the 34 dollar bag is just as good as the 92.99 dollar bag. I have seen that some vets have actually recommended the cheaper stuff(on the one review, this kind didn't work for them and the vet then mentioned the brand I get saying that is what they feed their cats)
