My pup lost her back leg at 4months old due to injury (pulled from shelter with severe breaks). I knew joint health was a top priority for her remaining back leg. I also know I am not the best a daily medications myself and wanted to make sure she had the best I could give her. I started her on Hills J/D at 4 months and it is the only food she has received in her 11 years. Her back hock joint looks great and x-ray showed no signs of arthritis yet. She still loves to run and swim. She is a 45# lab mix and this food has kept her at a healthy weight. Her coat is average, some slight dryness in winter. Her teeth are fantastic. Nails are healthy and grow pretty quickly (we don't have a lot of concrete for her to naturally wear them down.) Absolutely love and recommend this food. My maltese cross had cruciate ligament surgery on one leg & was starting to struggle on the other leg, the vet confirmed it wasn't his cruciate this time but an arthritic spur that was causing the discomfort. After a course of anti inflammatories to calm it down I tried 4 different supplements and didn't see any improvement, I turned to this as a last resort and after half a bag I saw a huge improvement. He was no longer lifting his leg up after a walk and "toe tapping" (not wanting to put his leg down completely), he started to play again, tackle stairs and seemed generally happier within himself. I’m honestly amazed by the transformation this food has had on my dog’s ability to move, walk and play freely. After just a week!My little terrier has a partially torn crucifer ligament injury and has been on monthly cartrophen injections for the last two years which have been incredible and helped stave off surgery. Excellent product! Quality dog biscuits, that actually work for helping dogs with joint issues and pain. Our 2 dogs are 11yrs old now and having trouble with arthritis. Having these biscuits as part of their everyday meal has made a huge impact on their ability to mobilise around more comfortably, and pain free. It has noticeably improved their qualify of life.Buying from the PetPost made an otherwise excellent but far too expensive product that bit more affordable! Thank you!
My dog has done great on j/d JOINT CARE for 2 years (picture of border collie on front of bag). Then we got a bag of MOBILITY shipped instead, picture of Golden retrieving bag and the size, shape of the kibble was different. After a few servings my dog refused to eat the kibble, which he has never done before What is different about the mobility labeled food and can I still get the former food that was titled j/d JOINT CARE (not mobility) ?
Have been giving this to Paddy, our Australian Cattle Dog. for over a week now on advice from our Vet. He is a very discerning about what he eats. I have wasted good money on expensive foods in the past. This morning he was at the back door waiting for me. When I opened the door had gave me the 'follow me' look as he lead the way down stairs where he sat next to his food bin. He started to salivate (never done that before) as I took the lid off. He loves this food. The stiffness in his back legs after he has been lying down has diminished significantly.
My aged 13 year old female shepherd loves these and I feel better knowing that I am feeding her something that will help her joints and associated aches and pains. She never refuses these as she has in the past with other brands. I just brought home a rescue dog on the weekend who has been raised entirely on dry food and once he got a whiff of my old girl's 'special' biscuits, nothing else was going to be acceptable. He is a young, strong 3 year old who is sitting in front of the pantry door asking for more. I will have to put them up higher, just in case.
I was soo beyond excited when I found this was in stock again after being unavailable everywhere for the last few months.Turns out the product has gone through a transformation? kibble size is smaller, the smell less offensive (for us), looks more powdery and must taste different because our doggo isn't all over it drooling, he peruses and sniffs at it more (it's been about a week).My only hope is that it still maintains the quality Of active ingredients to help pups arthritic symptoms.Love pet circle as usual. Price is still competitive and love the auto delivery since there's one less thing to worry about.
We adopted two 8 year old boys with laxating patellas and were recommended this food immediately. While they ate it, their knees rarely bothered them. And while they limped occasionally, they quickly recovered if they'd pushed themselves too far. Unfortunately, after about 2 months on this food, one of the boys refused to eat it at all. We've had to switch food and use a supplement instead. I'd recommend this dry food, but maybe mix it up occasionally so they don't get bored with it. (Probably good advice for any dog food.)
I am REALLY writing a review for HILLS ZD for allergies and sensitivities: My dogs were all eating HILLS ZD for ALLERGIES and SKIN SENSITIVITES but it has been out of stock at company so our vet suggested this HILLS JD for joints. Our three dogs will eat this JD HILLS where they will not eat any other but NOTHING like they ate HILL ZD; it is a shame Hills cannot get the ingedients as all three of my dogs have lost weight but they are eating again since Petflow sent us ILLS JD. They all have arthritis and the weather has been positively medieval but with the HILLS JD they are walking much better and not strugglings to rise or manuever steps as they did before HILLS JD>
