Our new puppy arrived eating Purina Pro Plan for toy breeds. When I tried to reorder from Chewy, it was out of stock. I needed to switch foods and do it quickly so Axel would have time to adjust to a new food. When searching, I found this Hill's Science Diet for Small and Mini breeds. I lucked out. Axel likes it and the size of the kibble is perfect. Now...do I stay with Hill's or return to Purina Pro Plan? That is the question of the day....

Our Robbie has been eating Hill's Science Diet puppy food for a while now, after trying many other brands. Some others caused diarrhea, tummy upsets, or he just didn't like the taste. But since starting him on this food, all issues have disappeared. He'll soon be a year old, so I will be transitioning him to another Hill's Science diet food. Hopefully, he will do as well on it. We highly recommend this brand and food.

Our pup Oliver has been a super picky eater. He usually gets bored of foods after a few times having it and would not eat kibble, wet or dry. Our vet recommended this brand, and it has been a game-changer. The kibble is nice and small for his tiny mouth. He loves this Small Paws puppy Hills Science Diet. I highly recommend it!Our local Pet Supermarket does not carry this type of Hill's Science kibble and being able to order it from Chewy with prompt shipment was excellent.

Another wonderful experience with Chewy! My 8 month old Shih Tzu had stopped eating his Royal Canin puppy food. After two months of attempting everything suggested to me I asked my vet about an alternative. He suggested Science Diet. I had received a bag of the RC on auto delivery about two weeks prior and called Chewy to see if I could return it. The representative was so helpful and shipped the SD out quickly. My little guy loves his new food! So happy to have finally found a food he likes.
I recently purchased Hill's Science Diet Puppy Small Paws Chicken Meal, Barley & Brown Rice Dry Dog Food from Chewy and I'm extremely satisfied. The ingredients are high-quality, with real chicken as the main ingredient. The small kibble size is perfect for small breed puppies, and my Yorkie loves it! Chewy's service was fast and hassle-free. Overall, I highly recommend this dog food.
My new puppy was fed the Eukanuba puppy food by the breeder we got him from. I bought a bag before I went to pick him up so we would have food on hand when he came to live with us. We have seen him from when he was an hour old, breeder sent me pics the whole time he was growing to a point we could go get him. I drove 3-1/2 hours to get him. Brought him home and fed him the Eukanuba. My other 2 dogs eat the Science Diet Adult Small Bites Chicken and Barley food. I had forgotten to pick up their left-overs and Little Rascal (that IS his real name) found it and gobbled half of it before I could get to him. Vet gave us trial package of the Science Diet food and he eats it MUCH better than the Eukanuba. He is growing and doing well. I highly recommend the Science Diet ... MoreMy new puppy was fed the Eukanuba puppy food by the breeder we got him from. I persevered to give this to my 18 month old Maltipom since she was 3 months old solely for the nutrition benefit. I mixed it with various food as she inherited the Maltese fussy food trait. I started her on a fresh 7kg bag 2 months ago and 2 weeks in she declined whereby she would lay on her mat most of the day. Her stool became runny until it stopped altogether, she began to vomit daily and after numerous vet tests over 2 weeks whilst on a chicken only diet, the cause could not be found. I again gave her one portion of Hills Science Diet of a morning and by the afternoon she was so unwell again. I put her on chicken only again for a week then offered Royal Canine as she was getting better. She ate like there was no tomorrow and within days she was back to her ... MoreI persevered to give this to my 18 month old Maltipom since she was 3 months old solely for the nutrition benefit. I share my experience solely for awareness that this product may not be suitable for all dogs and have adverse reactions.
Oliver is a 6 month old Dachshund/Chihuahua mix. The food from the breeder was crummy. Not having researched dog food, I got him a bag of Blue Buffalo small breed puppy. He ate it just fine. The next time I accidentally purchased the standard puppy food, so I decided to look into a new brand when I returned it. I did my research. I determined that a grain inclusive diet was best for Oliver. In my research, I kept coming back to Hill's Science Diet. My vet has actually had a Hill's stand in the lobby for years with the science and perscription diets on sale. It also means a lot to me that they meet AAFCO standards, unlike a lot of more expensive, "boutique" brands. Hills has developed their formulas for over a decade and use evidence based practices with their ever improving foods. I decided to go with Hill's because of all of that.I was happy to find a wide range of lifespans, including this meant for smaller breed puppies. Oliver acts like his food is a bowl of treats. He's gone nuts over the food since I first opened the bag, and he enjoys it more than Blue Buffalo. What's more, it's what my vet recommends.
I have a 5-month old maltipom puppy who has been giving me a run for my money (literally) when it comes to her food. I’ve tried a total of 5 brands of high-quality, small breed puppy food! She wouldn’t touch what the breeder sent home, and she quickly started to turn her nose up at the grain-free options I’ve tried. After reading about the possible dangers of a grain-free diet, I decided to try this. I know three other owners who swear by Hill’s Science, but I was reluctant because of the amount of wheat and corn. I did some more research and I’ve come to the conclusion that the “grain-free” craze is just a marketing fad; not based on any real science. I gave this a go and she loves it! My yorkie and jack Russell terrier puppy was eating pro plan puppy with the shredded chicken in it but he wouldn’t eat it anymore . He is a very picky puppy when it comes to food . So since he was eating hills small paws puppy chicken stew in the 3.5 oz i decided to buy a 4.5 bag of the hills puppy dry food . Let me tell you he loves it when I put his bowl down he goes crazy for it . Now I will be buying the bigger bag.
