I am so obsessed with this carpet cleaner. I have never owned any other kind before so I have nothing to compare it to but it worked wonders for me. I was able to find it at a discount store (the box was the only thing messed up) and it came with a small little bottle of pet solution. Compared to other models I've used, I've noticed this one doesn't get nearly as hot. If you have stains that are stuck onto your carpet, they will have a hard time loosening, so be sure that the water you load into the machine is very hot — maybe around 140°F or more. You will also have to make more passes compared to other models to thoroughly dry the carpet. It would also work well for spills, since it has a quick-clean mode or suck-only mode. I would totally recommend this machine and would buy it again. The only reason I decided to buy it was that all the stores that used to rent Rug Doctor machines in my area no longer do so. I wish I had bought this years ago - I would have saved a bundle on the rentals and gotten the same results without having to drive to the store and rush the machine back within the 24-hour rental period.

This unit is very similar in operation to my other unit, with many improvements for convenience and use. The only issue that was not improved was the suction shut-off float. Just like my first Hoover cleaner, if you lightly bump a wall the float reacts upward and shuts off the suction. Even the suds in the waste tank can cause the float to be triggered and raised. You then need to turn off the machine until you hear the sound of the float returning back down to it's normal down position. Then you must turn the unit back on and resume cleaning. I thought this problem would have been eliminated in the newer model, but it is the same design as the older model had. Also, many ... It was almost white 3 or 4 years ago but here in so much natural light from bay window it looks yellowish to me, good furniture and had it sprayed against stains, it's just dirty. This came with furniture tools but may as well get it all done in one day, we're elderly and creaky, not the whiz I once was that fixed and cleaned everything while raising 4 kids, lots of pets, learned a lot from Dad brother and oldest sister so quite knowledgeable in many things. But how they left this good Berber tight weave is pretty disgusting. I feel sorry for the dog. I do really like the heat feature that helps dry as you clean, very useful feature on this Hoover. 5*
I bought this product when we moved into our new house hoping to use it to deep clean all the carpets.When we started using it, noticed that when we wanted to suction up the cleaning solutions, the machine would not suction up anything. the carpet was soked in water we couldn't suction. i had to go rent a unit to soak up the water-logged carpets.Called customer care, and they sent a replacement unit, only for the replacement to have the same issues. I will not be buying any Hoover products ever again.
