Unique design that is very overpriced. Will not sharpen my simple pocket knife. For knives with a blade around 1/2" wide (very common) the magnetic block will not hold the knife in place. Long flexible knives (fillet knives) also present a problem with the length as the magnet does not hold the knife in place well. Will probably return it for a refund.

This is the best sharpener I’ve used. Its sharpens knives and it’s really easy to use. I highly recommend this Horl2 sharpener!
Best sharpener I've used. Took a bit of time to get my old knives edges back to set angle but once there it takes no time at all to sharpen.

It's early days and so far I have only worked on European chef's knives and some smaller utility knives. I have some reservations which relate to the shape and particularly the handles of the knives I have sharpened and the difficulty of achieving a good fit along the length of the blade. Smaller knives also have their challenges. I am thinking an additional angle support would make longer blades easier but alas, Horl does not sell them separately. Perhaps they might in the future.Once you get the support right, a very sharp knife is going to be the easiest you have ever achieved.There are many more knives in my kitchen awaiting my attention which is probably just as well - it's a learning curve!
