I got this for my 7 year old who loves Hot Wheels and Mario Kart and it was a hit. He already had the Thwomp and the Piranha Plant sets, but was SO excited for this one and it did not disappoint. He says it is the best one yet!We have not connected this to the big set, so I don't know how fun that is, but on its own, this is great. It took a little practice to hit the launch just right, (too much force or too little force and the car won't make the jump), but it was enough of a challenge to not make it instantly boring. Add in the rotation of the Chain Chomp (easy to wind so no batteries to worry about) and there were laughs for hours. He even had to take it to grandma's house to keep playing.Great addition to the line. Can't wait to get the next set!

Super fun track for Mario kart cars! My son loved attempting to get the car across while the bomb blocker thing was turning. The size for this track is more compact which I liked, because some car tracks are big and bulky and always falling apart. This one he can move from place to place in the house with no problem. He and his sister took turns trying to successfully make it across the jump. Lots of fun for my 6 year old boy and 4 year old girl. They love Mario/Nintendo characters so that was an added bonus.

I received the Hot Wheels MarioKart Chain Chomp Track Set as part of the Play, Rate, Review program.My grandson was ecstatic when he saw the MarioKart Hot Wheels box. He immediately ripped it open to get the pieces. Adult assembly was required by clicking the pieces together and putting on stickers. Our set included Donkey Kong in a car but there are other characters available (some Hot Wheels cars work too). To play you have set the lock, crank the knob, then turn the button on which starts the chomper spinning and punch down on launcher which sends the car around the track. My 5 year old was very excited about this toy and loved playing with it. The track overall was very easy to assemble. Once assembled, it was very engaging to play with and held his attention.The chain chomp winds up, and I love that it does not require batteries. Using the launcher to launch the car is challenging at times - they have to push down pretty hard and quickly to get Donkey Kong around the track. But once my child mastered the launch, he was very excited. Not only does he race chain chomp, but he also uses the toy for imaginative play and interacts with track. I highly recommend this toy!
Received this product for my son who loves cars and super Mario...it was a win-win. The instructions were clear and it was easy to put the track together. He had fun decorating the track with the stickers and liked the donkey Kong die cast car that came with the track. He enjoyed slamming the car around the track trying to avoid chain chimp. My other kids as well as me and my hubby took turns as well. We made a game out of trying to see how many times we could get the car around the track without getting hit by chain chomp. There are also other sets to get that you could use to make the track bigger so I am going to try to get them all to have one giant super mario track. This is a fun track set that would make a great gift.
My 6yr old is a big Mario Kart fan and he loved this set. It came with a Donkey Kong car. He and his cousins launched the car continuously for hours and never got bored. Chain Chomp didn't really knock cars out of the way, but they liked winding it up. The cons - the stickers tear easily when trying to assemble, but they do give extras - I suspect or this very reason. Donkey Kong's head broke off after 1 miss of the ramp and hitting the floor. Had to superglue it back on.

My older son quickly put together all the pieces without reference to the instructions, it was pretty easy to do, other than sticker placement. After assembly my older son quickly lost interest as you have to keep winding the Chomper. We only played with this particular set, and did not add it to our other track sets. My son said he wished that the Chomper actually chomped as it would be much cooler. My kids ages 5 and 9 loved that this toy was from their favorite game. They immediately wanted to rip open the packaging and play with it.I appreciated that this track was not too big and bulky and I liked that no batteries were required. It works by winding up the chain chomp by hand. While adding the stickers on to the track it was a bit tricky adding the yellow line stickers that were very long and skinny. Not a big deal though.My kids very much enjoyed this set. It was difficult to launch the car over the gap in the track and land on the other side but my kids didn’t seem to mind.
These tracks are a bit janky. This one in particular isnt so bad, but i would have expected better quality from hot wheels and nintendo. My 3 year old still has fun with it. I connected this with the bowsers castle Track as well as the Boo set and Piranha plant set.
My kids love Mario Kart! This toy is a fun and interactive screen free version of the video game. Added bonus is movement that doesn't require batteries! Chain chomp is a wind up so and the kart is pushed through the track by hitting a launcher. Chain chomp has an on/off switch for younger kids to use for a lesser challenge (but lets face it, my 5 year old got Donkey Kong thru the track with the chomper before older siblings or mom & dad). Kit popped together pretty quick, took longer to apply the yellow track stickers, but loved that they included extra stickers in case you goofed. Even my 23 year old cousin was excited to play when family stopped past for a visit. This toy stands out among the other car racing games in our house.
