Hourglass 9.5 Ambient Soft Glow Foundation 30ml

The Hourglass Ambient soft glow foundation has been big on social media and took a few weeks of using it with different skin and products to get a really good opinion of it. This does work with sensitive, acne prone skin types. This has a nice amount of pigment, you need to build it up, it can can look like foundation if you apply too much. This is a medium coverage concealer that can be built up a little but you have to be careful or again, it starts looking like your wearing foundation. If you have normal skin and you have a light amount of dryness or a little bit oil production in your t-zone, this will be a beautiful product. If you are very dry or very oily, pass on this. This is not a “glowy” foundation, if you like that type of finish, you won’t love this. I find this to be a very natural finish that lightly blurs and helps covers things like acne scars and redness without appearing too heavy. Accentuates skin texture

I am really disappointed with this. FYI , my go to is normally CT Beautiful Skin 2.I prepped my skin using this foundation in the same manner as when I was applying my CT.The first time I found it really cakey and made my skin look dull. I looked around the Internet and I got the impression I had used too much.I tried again , also giving myself an extra Spritz WITH CT Hyaluronic Spray. This time I used less than a pump and blended outwards. The coverage was good but still accentuated texture and wrinkles.What I did notice however was that after a few hours my skin started to look a little more dewy and the foundation had settled a bit better. I'm gonna give some main points and then elaborate because I have so much to say about this foundation.1- it is a buttery smooth application2- it gives the prettiest subtle glow, but it's somehow still soft matte3- it IS transfer-proof if you set it with powder and/or setting sprayAs far as the shade range- I always have to mix my foundations anyway so it doesn't really bother me. In response to it transferring- most non-ultra-matte foundations do. Mixed feelings

I love Hourglass’ powder products, so was eager to try this, especially as their shade range is so great (I’m super pale). Shade 1 is a perfect match for my skin, it’s a neutral tone, leaning cool and just blends flawlessly into my neck. I apply with a brush, and don’t have any trouble with applying over a well moisturised base (no primer). However, I do find that this product sits into lines, especially my smile lines, more than any other foundations I’ve tried. It also separates around my nose and smile lines even when set super well in those areas. Texture is slightly accentuated and I do find it to be more mask like and thick than I opt for nowadays. I was getting tired of how dry my face looked throughout the course of the day, so I decided to choose something with a radiant/natural finish. However, I did not want to sacrifice coverage. I chose this foundation in the shade 3, which has natural undertones. Oh my goodness was this the best decision ever. This has great coverage and lasts all day. Im from an area with high humidity and this stuff just does not budge, nor is it too drying. I have oily skin as well and I do not get any shine at all when paired with a silicone primer and CT Airbrush Powder. Non-Influenced Review - HG Foundation

I wasn’t gifted this product. I got a tiny sample of this with one of my Sephora orders and after using it once I bought the full-size bottle the next day. I’m someone who normally never wears foundation because I hate the feel of makeup and think I look fine without it. I tried this foundation on a random date night and DID NOT PRIME OR SET IT at all, not having any expectations. It instantly blurred my skin with a truly air-brushed look and if felt like absolutely nothing on the skin, while even the lightest coverage skin tints eventually make me excited to take it off at the end of the day. If you’re thinking about it, get a free sample made up at your local sephora for color matching purposes because I can guarantee you’ll want to buy it.

Was excited about this and admittedly wasted my money because it will never be used. After a few attempts and even adjusting my skincare routine to see if it would help, sadly, I don’t see the result as marketed. The absolute best foundation ever.

Over the years I've provably tried close to 20 foundations. There have been many I was unhappy with but never one I couldn't stand to finish the bottle. I bought this a week ago and I'm returning today. No other foundation has ever looked this bad. They must be purchasing their five star reviews because I cannot believe anyone would be happy with this. It acts as a drugstore foundation with a high-end price.
