The HP Omnibook Ultra Flip Copilot+ Laptop Is a high-quality PC with some added AI features built in, though if you're a PC Gamer know that this is not designed to be a gaming laptop (and will not be reviewed/rated as such). The 2.8k OLED touchscreen display (featuring dark blacks, impressive bright colors, and incredible contrast [or differences in brightness levels]) looks absolutely gorgeous, especially with the default black background colorful Windows 11 wallpaper. The screen flips all the way around If you want to use it without the keyboard in the way (like "tablet mode"). The keyboard itself has a very nice feel, you can hear the keypresses as you type, and features a fingerprint sensor on the power button. The install process did not prompt me to set up the fingerprint sensor, but I was able to do that in the settings menu later on. I find the fingerprint more preferred to facial recognition, because facial recognition can unlock it when I don't intend to -- also, it takes just a tap of the finger to sign in with the fingerprint (very fast). This machine is also very lightweight/portable.As per ports, I was only able to locate two of them. One is the USB-C port which is also the power port, and the other seems to be a headphone jack. The major negative of only one USB-C port is if you are charging you can't plug in external USB devices, you'd only be able to use them in battery mode. It's possible you can find some kind of USB-C hub (not included) which might let you charge while at the same time using external devices. I wasn't able to test the headphone port as all of my current headphones are Bluetooth, which of course is also supported. However, without headphones, the quad speaker "Poly Studio" system provides crystal clear sound, loud enough for laptop use, and possibly the best quality sound I've ever heard from a laptop speaker (even comparing it to my MacBook Air M2). You can find the Poly Studio logo on the left edge of the laptop. It seems to support a subset of the Studio Effects (camera effects via AI) when compared with two other Snapdragon based machines I have. Also, when I tried the Automatic Framing (software based) it didn't seem to work - on the Snapdragon machines, as I would move around the screen It would zoom in to keep me in the center gradually, here on the HP it didn't seem to do anything. While I was testing In the evening, i notice the color shifting on the web camera too, which wasn't great, but the picture was clear. The initial set up took an unnecessarily long time to complete, though that may be Microsoft's fault. That is, the setup was interrupted to install a mandatory (not background downloaded) update before letting you set anything other than Wi-Fi up. I don't know exactly how long it took, but after about ten minutes it was like 5-10% done so I went and did other things and came back an hour later and at that point it was ready to proceed with setup.Wi-Fi 7 works great when connected to our Eero Max 7 on Optimum Fiber internet, I took a snapshot (possibly attached to this review) of getting over 500Mbit/s download and upload speeds, with a 5ms ping time, we pay for 500Mbit service so we can't ask for much faster. As per battery, after 30 minutes of usage (while unplugged) it did not go down even 1%. Let's just assume 1% per 30 minutes (it might be significantly better than that), that's 3000 minutes (or about 50 hours) per charge it would get, which for an Intel based machine traditionally would be unheard of in my experience. I am very impressed by the battery. This may be the first Intel-based PC I could wholeheartedly recommend (despite the USB-C Port limitations) in a long time (again, unless you’re a gamer and are not comfortable streaming games through services like the Xbox App Subscription).

I really like this laptop, but I have a few minor issues that I think could have been better addressed with HP.First the design is very sleek and high-end, I think it looks nicer than most of the other laptops I have seen. It is very light and super thin making it easy to carry around in a bag or in your hands. The screen folds back easily to form a tablet and the hinges feel strong. The touch screen is easy to use and picked up my hand movements like a regular tablet. The screen is very bright, good deep colors, and super clear. I watched a movie on this and screen looked similar to my high end 4k tv, perfect for travel. The keyboard is probably one of the best I have used on a laptop. The keys are large enough to not hit two at once. The keys are large enough to not hit two at once. The letters on the keys are huge and easy to see, perfect for someone who has trouble seeing the smaller letters. I don't like that the power button has no indicator that it's the power button, HP just made it a light blue with a line light on it. The touch pad is very large and easy to use, and I haven't yet swiped it while typing on the computer. This laptop only has three USB inputs but two are in an awkward spot and one being on the side. You have to use one of these USB inputs to charge, so you are left with two to connect devices. Two of the USB inputs are on the backside corners of the laptop. One of my USB C adapters is a little thicker and cannot be used in those spots since it wouldn't allow the screen to fully open. I wish HP would have put these on the sides of the computer for ease of use. Since the USB ports are all USB c you are limited as to what you can do with them. Most, if not all of my devices (webcam, flash drives, etc) do not have USB C connecters. So, this means you have to buy adapters to use anything. I have a USB C adapter that I bought for my tablet that also works with this HP computer. The adapter has two regular USB ports and an HDMI port, these are cheap, and I would strongly recommend one with HDMI so you can easily connect to different displays. If you're planning on adding additional RAM you will be sorry to hear that the 16gig is soldered in place. For me 16gig is plenty for the type of work I do on this computer, and I didn't experience any slowdowns or issues even with multiple programs open. The hard drive can be swapped out, but 1tb should be plenty for most users.I did like the headphone jack on the left side. I still use wired headphones and it's nice that they still support this input. The speakers on this computer are pretty good too. I have a gaming laptop and the speakers in this HP sound way better even though they are in a smaller laptop.I played around with the copilot and had fun creating random images or getting helpful information when doing research. While I do think copilot is pretty great, it still needs improvement as some of the pictures or information wasn't perfect.I have had the computer off the charge since this morning watching TV, using internet explorer, running reports, etc and its only down to 70% after five hours. Keep in mind I was on and off the computer during that time and closed the lid to conserve power. My brightness setting for the display was at the medium setting. I feel like this computer could last me pretty much all day on battery if doing lite work.I only gave this computer four stars because of the soldered-on RAM and the strange placement of the USB ports. Overall, I really do like this computer and will be using it every day going forward. I appreciate the lightweight, thin, and compact design of this HP computer.

The specs are awesome for a daily driver for school or work. It's 14" touch screen and ultra thin size, along with weighing in at under 3 pounds, it is the perfect to toss into a backpack. The Intel Core Ultra 7 with 16 GB of memory gives this 2 in 1 plenty of horsepower to run your business apps with ease. The 1TB SSD give the laptop plenty of headroom to have those apps along with any files (and why not some media files, although streaming seems to be the preferred method for that content). 3K OLED display powered by Intel Arc graphics has a respectable resolution of 2880 x 1800. The display sports Gorilla Glass making it resistant to scratching and mild abuse.I wouldn't recommend to use for gaming. Games eat up storage pretty quickly unless you stream or use cloud based. I loaded up one of my favorite AAA games, Days Gone, and even on low graphics settings I got a lot of stutter and dipping frame rates. It might be better for something like PUGB or other less graphics intensive games.I especially like 2 in 1 tablets for a few reasons. Standard laptop orientation is amazing for day to day use but if you need to go keyboard-less you can flip int quickly into tablet form and with the touch screen it's more than capable. I use the 2 in 1 for another reason. If you flip it but not all the way flat, making like a tent, I use as a portable table top display for trade show slideshows or if I'm doing training with a small group I don't need a projector. I can just flip to a tent (inverted V) and I do my tabletop demo or power slides. It's a real effective method and something I use often. For the size the speakers are surprisingly good. Plenty of volume, no rattling, good sound quality. Thumbs up!!!The I/O is decent although you may need to invest in a external I/O hub to gain some features. With two Thunderbolt ports you can plug in a USB-C input monitor, use the other to charge or plug in a fast external drive. For me the angled ports off the back corners is a bid odd but makes sense as it's not quite side and it's not quite back, more out of the way I suppose. The Omnibook Ultra also comes with one USB-C port on the right side and a headphone jack of all things on the left side. I only say that because I assumed most devices were strictly going Bluetooth. I'm not complaining mind you. All I/O is welcome. However, due to the thin profile it is lacking a USB-A port, ethernet jack and no SD card slot (micro or otherwise). Although the WiFi 7 adapter is fast enough if you have a comparable WiFi router. Now to address the lacking I/O. I found it necessary to acquire a USB-C/Thunderbolt hub that not only gives me the capability of plugging in a HDMI monitor or projector, I gained two USB-A ports and a SD card slot. Most can be purchased for under $50 and it's proven to be a necessity for my travels. I can now use my USB-A thumb drives, external hard drive and SD cards. It's a great lightweight and nimble laptop/tablet for everyday use but don't expect to do any serious gaming with it.

Sadly, the pen is not supplied with the laptop but is available form HP and many retailers. The display is glossy but I did not experience any extreme reflections The display is protected by Corning® Gorilla® Glass 5 which is extreamly tuff and will prevent scratches. The Screen is dual hinged and can be folded back to use the laptop as a tablet. The keyboard feels great very comfortable to type on. The keys have great tactile feedback and just the right amount of travel for typing. The aluminum deck and chassis give the keboard a premium feel with no flex whatsoever. The laptop remains light about 2.8lb, due to its excellent design. The multitouch haptec touchpad has adjustable feedback, the dlicks are just right. The touchpad is very responsive and I had no issues with my palm activating touches even with its exceptional sensitivity. Hp has really done their homework with this keyboard and touchpad it is in my opinion the best of any laptop I have ever owned. The ports are housed in the rear cut corners with 2 thunderbolt ports right side one 3.2 usbc and sound jack on leftThe sound from this little laptop is surprisingly good the range is full and it had pretty good base. The metal case and deck help with this but HP again has tuned the speakers just right to get fantastic sound. The 9mp cam with IR can be controlled the Polycam pro app or built in Windows camera app. It is more than adequate for social and business videochat. The Intel Lunar Lake core ultra 7 256v 7nm with 8 cores and 8 threads, Intel Arc140v video and16gb DDR5 is able to handle aps like Davinci resolve, Adobe photoshop and premieve as well as moderate gaming. The Oled screen lends itself to these apps as well as video consumption through streaming services and social media. The fan is very quiet, I have never heard it during use. The laptop supports Wifi 7 and BlueTooth 5.4.HP Ai companion Beta is included, it uses the built in intel NPU and leverages Chat GPT4.0 to answer questions, sumerize articles, brainstorm ideas. To open the HP AI Companion, search for and open HP AI Companion. You can also select the icon from the system tray. To use the Ai Companion, you must create or sign in to an HP account, this must be a different account than an Hp Instant Ink account if you happen to have one. The ability to use the OpenAI ChatGPT 4.0 using the built in NPU to analyze your own data or help with Discovering new ideas is very useful. If you need help with settings or optimizing the performace of your laptop and keeping drivers up to date by just asking is cool to say the least.Overall, this is a great laptop, looks fantastic, feels great, great keyboard, accurate haptic feedback touchpad, bright clear multitouch, pen capable OLED display and convertible to a tablet when needed. The built in NPU is great to have in this era of AI. The keyboard also has a dedicated Microsoft Copilot key. I highly reccomend this for Students, Business and home use. It is good for some gaming but a laptop with a higher powered GPU may be a better choice if you are a heavy gamer.

This HP OmniBook Ultra Flip laptop is a versatile device with enough power to perform demanding tasks and why not also for personal entertainment. In the box comes the laptop along with its 65W usb c charger, a quick start guide and nothing else. The laptop has a 14” screen, a size that makes it very practical. The display is OLED 2.8K, represents colors very well, has a brightness more than enough, it is a touch display that responds quickly and images and videos look great, it is one of the strengths of this device.Regarding the design, it is a discreet, compact, lightweight laptop. The location of the usb c ports seemed interesting to me, the corners are a little used area and that they are in that position looks great. The edges of the display are relatively thin. At the top is the camera and sensors. On top of the webcam there is a cover to hide or show the camera, a very useful extra security feature. Speaking of the webcam the quality leaves a little to be desired, although the webcam fulfills its function and you can change some settings, you need good lighting to get a better result. This device has a 360 design that allows you to use the laptop as a tablet, that is, by turning the display completely and using it with your fingers or with an HP stylus. The speakers are located at the bottom, at the base of the laptop, it has an acceptable quality, the sound is good and complies effectively, however it is an area that can be improved. The touchpad is a perfect size, during the time I have been doing work and editing on this pc I have not had any inconvenience related to the palm of my hand accidentally touching the touchpad. The sensitivity is just right, it doesn't take too much pressure to click, it's just right, the fingers glide nicely over the surface and the shortcuts are handled quite accurately and intuitively. It seems simple but if the touchpad is not well balanced it may not be the best user experience. The battery is a section where this device performs very well. With just one charge you can use this laptop for several hours. Working on editing projects or playing a video game the autonomy surprised me, more than 7 hours straight and in less demanding uses about 10. Of course it depends on the chosen configuration and the programs used, but in general this laptop has a durable battery. The keyboard is well illuminated, has very useful shortcuts, the letters on the keys are big enough, the power button is also the fingerprint reader (which by the way works quite well), the keys sound very little when pressed and has an excellent spacing between them, it is actually very easy and comfortable to type on this keyboard (this review is being written on this laptop).Regarding performance, the laptop can handle many programs, from home office, video editing programs, photography, audio, casual gaming (not for competitive gaming), multimedia content consumption, Copilot AI, design, etc. Despite running different programs and web pages at the same time, the fans do not generate much noise, it is actually a very quiet laptop in this regard. The combination of the Intel Core ultra 7 CPU, with the 16 GB of DDR5 ram, 1TB SSD -nvme and Intel Arc graphics, make this device work quickly and efficiently. In summary, I think this laptop is ideal for content creators, students, or for those who work at home, as well as for those who need a powerful and kind of lightweight device that can be transported to different places. If you need a laptop ready for AI, with a good processor, that makes little noise and does not get too hot, with an elegant and minimalist design, that the battery lasts several hours and does not weigh much, this HP Omnibook Ultra flip laptop is for you. I can highly recommend it.
This laptop is looks great, is fast and very able for a lot of AI generative tasks. Out-of-the-box, it is pretty easy to set up, like any other PC, with the exception that its design elements and the comfort it brings makes me very engaged in using this machine.First of all, it is beautiful. The matte black finish is smudge safe. It says Eclipse Gray but it looks more like black to me—or maybe dark gray. The case is solid and the hinges are tight but they move smoothly. It is light for its size-- that’s why I can’t open the lid with one finger because it carries the laptop out of position. Don’t get me wrong, light does not mean it is not durable. The materials look high-quality and very intact. It looks so good, I will not be embarrassed to carry this to ... MoreThis laptop is looks great, is fast and very able for a lot of AI generative tasks. The materials look high-quality and very intact. It looks so good, I will not be embarrassed to carry this to important meetings. For a 14-inch, it is pretty slim and compact vs 13s, and again, light considering this has an OLED screen. It is bright enough for me to work at my patio, and the darks are so deep, something expected in an OLED, that the default Windows wallpaper looks like it is floating in a dark room. The touch is very responsive and though it does not come with a pen, I am glad it is compatible with my MPP2.0 pen, I can easily write scribble and do my photoshop lasso selections precisely. The laptop folds backwards so it makes it easy to draw on it. The 14 is such a perfect size for on-the-go graphic designing. Plus, on tent mode, it is already compact as it is, but on my desk, it saves even more space. It only has two ports—one for headphones/mic and a Thunderbolt 4. It will work for me because I dock and use multiple screens. So I use all the other ports on my dock. For traveling though, if I will need more than that, like my portable SSD that uses a USB A 3.2, I will have to carry a small hub. This helps the machine to be compact though because most people use Bluetooth peripherals—mouse, keyboard, headphones. It has its built-in camera with a privacy slider (nice touch!), so you technically have what you will mostly need for a daily driver. The integrated graphics card seems to make 160hz available to my monitors though. Usually, this is driven by the card and the dock, so I didn’t bother because I will have to redo my settings if the screens fail to adhere. But it does easily throwout 4K output, again, mainly a dock performance thing, however, with three screens up, I do not see any hiccups in performance either especially with apps up like photoshop, capcut, firefly, gemini, etc.Performance-wise, especially for AI, I am surprised by the 16GB RAM. I thought nowadays, content creation, especially when you use generative AI, requires 32GB to operate smoothly. I use my Adobe creative cloud suite, Various AI web tools like graphic ones and Gemini, and it does not hiccup. If there’s one thing, don’t use the HP-AI app though. It’s so far from all the other tools. I asked it to perform something basic, because it’s main use seems more focused on internal use like do auto updates or something, which you can easily toggle yourself in windows updates, the suggestions are still generic. I asked it to turn the keyboard lights on, which, also by the way, you can press with a simple F5, AI recognized what PC model I was using but it gave me a generic reply like, “In most PCs, it is the F5 or F4”—I mean, c’mon. “In most PCs…??” IT should be able to tell me something specific if it already knows the model, right? That’s such a mediocre attempt at AI. Given that though, it has nothing to do with the actual device so it does not affect my liking for this machine. I would just avoid it if I were you. Stick to the usual AI out there for real productivity.I didn’t try gaming on this, because it is not a gaming laptop with only an integrated GPU. For what I need it for, to drive my business, it has what it needs.I love the keyboard and the size of the pad. The keys are BIG, meaning fonts big. Good for my middle-aged eyes. Backlighting looks clean. And the pad is wide. Though I use my mouse most of the time. The sound from the speakers are decent. Nothing to rave about and is not that important to me since I use speakers and headphones. But it is clear enough maybe to watch movies with it on reverse flip? I don’t do this activity to my work laptops, but the screen is so nice though, it is so tempting to watch those dark movies that show real contrast.Connectivity is not a problem at all. Wifi is fast. It detects Bluetooth devices with a automatic prompt, which is nice. And battery life is pretty decent. 5 hours of work with maybe 4 hours of pause with the lid closed (3 hours on, 4 hours downtime, 2 hours on = 5 total active hours) and I am at 42% (definitely not docked). This is with some music on and continuous working. Oh, and since the power on this only requires a 65W charger, my dock can easily take this on t charge the battery back fast. After a couple of days, I can say this is one of those you will keep until it dies. I’ve had other HPs before (Spectre) which look great too but HP has improved so much through the years. This machine is so dynamic, it is the new daily driver!

Now Intel has answered with its Lunar Lake processors, which are also certified to run AI under Microsoft’s Copilot requirements. As efficient as the ARM based Snapdragon is, some users must also have support for their legacy software that runs on the x86 architecture. With ARM, native software runs efficiently and gets exemplary battery life. But X86 software either runs in emulation which tends to diminish battery life or does not run at all on ARM machines. Lunar Lake handles all your Windows legacy software without a hitch and promises efficiency to compete with Snapdragon. I think it has succeeded. This OmniBook Ultra Flip Core Ultra 7 Series 2 Evo Edition from HP comes in an attractive package with a breathtaking OLED screen sporting 2880 X 1800 3K resolution and 500 nits of brightness. The aluminum case in Eclipse Gray is light at 2.9 lbs, but quite sturdy and cool to the touch- whether starting cold or running all day. It did not heat significantly during my use, and its fan was quiet in the few instances when it actually ran.Key travel is exemplary, and the spacious haptic touchpad is a cinch to use. I have used this computer as a daily driver for almost a week, and it has performed without issue running Windows Office 365 apps for production, web conferencing, and email correspondence. The speakers produce a spacious and non-tinny sound (but who really listens to much audio over laptop speakers?).Battery life can extend to 10 hours or more of real-world use. To get this kind of battery life, of course, you are running the computer in the power efficiency mode, turning down the brightness to about halfway, and letting the computer sleep when you are away from it. Those are reasonable constraints that I always use to increase battery life. If you are going to be gaming, which is not really this model’s forte, or running photo or video editing software, or streaming in HDR with the brightness turned up, your battery life will go down significantly.HP knows how to design a keyboard. It is such a pleasure to type on this machine. For me, key travel could not have been better. The weight and the feel of this machine suited me perfectly. Since it is a 2 in 1 design, it is also possible to use it as a tablet in the tent mode. This is a great convenience when you are trying to show a webpage or a document to someone. There are 3 USB-C ports, all of which offer power delivery and Display Port video. Two of them are Thunderbolt 4, which support DisplayPort 2.1, and one is USB-C 3.1 which supports DisplayPort 1.4a. There is also a headphone/microphone combo jack. The 16GB of LPDDR5X memory and the PCIe 4.0 SSD were speedy, and this machine never bogged down on any task I assigned it. The Intel ARC integrated graphics produced excellent performance on the beautiful OLED screen.I have not used the AI features extensively, and did not on the Snapdragon PC I evaluated earlier. This machine should be ready for those who want to exploit those features with NPU performance of 47 trillion operations per second. I’m learning. Give me time. This laptop succeeds at all levels for me. If it has the features you want, I recommend it highly. When it goes on sale (which is right now as I type this), act immediately!
If you're looking for a lightweight machine with minimal compromises, this is a great option.Pros: Amazing trackpad with accurate volume/brightness gestures (if you enable the feature), great oled display although not the brightest, good speakers if you set the EQ to "movie mode," great build quality and style with aluminum all around, has charging ports on both sides of the machine, touch screen is very responsive and accurate, doesn't get very hot and doesn't have much fan noise.Debatable: I like the keyboard. I feel it is very premium but not all people like low travel keyboards, however this does not bother me at all.Cons: It doesn't have any usb-a ports, the wifi card isn't upgradable although it is an excellent one (intel wifi 7), the webcam isn't the ... MoreIf you're looking for a lightweight machine with minimal compromises, this is a great option.Pros: Amazing trackpad with accurate volume/brightness gestures (if you enable the feature), great oled display although not the brightest, good speakers if you set the EQ to "movie mode," great build quality and style with aluminum all around, has charging ports on both sides of the machine, touch screen is very responsive and accurate, doesn't get very hot and doesn't have much fan noise.Debatable: I like the keyboard. I have used this laptop for 5 days now and it delivers exceptional on most of my requirements. I was looking for a new Windows 11 laptop with copilot, 2k display or greater, with great sound that I could take with me when I travel. I use my laptop extensively when I travel for home office/personal finance, remote work office, and personal photo/video editing. I also watch movies and listen to music, while I travel. I use my laptop extensively when I travel for home office/personal finance, remote work office, and personal photo/video editing. I also watch movies and listen to music, while I travel. I needed to replace a 2 year old HP Dragonfly laptop, which I gave to my daughter. So that is my point of reference. The HP OmniBook Ultra Flip, with its 2-in-1 flip capabilities, have worked out perfectly for most of my needs. The 3k OLED screen is absolutely beautiful. It displays my photos and videos very well for my editing and when showing my work to others. Likewise, the flip option is wonderful. I can set this laptop up on a table in a pyramid to show photos, videos, or for a small presentation. The screen is bright, so everyone could easily see my screen. I also like that I can use it like a tablet in my hotel room or on a plane. The touch screen is very responsive and easy to use as well.Even after installing all my software (i.e., MS-Office, finance, photo/video editing, etc.), it still runs quickly and I didn't experience any over-heating problems. It did get a little hot at times, but not often or too bad that it caused a shut-down. It has an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor, built-in Intel ARC graphics, 16GB LPDDR5x RAM, and 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD storage. The 9MP front camera is truly amazing and it works great for video conferencing, while the microphones worked adequately. The WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 performed equally amazing in my home network and a hotel during a recent trip. I especially like how quickly it recharges. However, you have to make sure you get the right AC power USB-C / Thunderbolt port (angled back right corner). However, on the downside, there are a few things which could have been better. First and foremost is the sound. This laptop has 4 "smallish" speakers on the bottom/side by Poly/Polycom, which HP purchased in 2022. My previous HP laptop had 2 larger speakers by Bang and Olufsen on the top beside the keyboard. I don't feel the sound quality of the speakers are as good on this laptop andI feel they should have been better at this price point. The battery life didn't seem to be very long, but I used it heavily, so I can accurately say if it is better or worse. Lastly, there was one odd thing which I can't quite figure out and resolve. When I started the laptop the first time, the mouse was large, almost to max size. I went into the settings for the mouse and dropped it down, where it stayed small for the rest of the day. But, when I restarted the laptop the next day, it was back to the larger size. I have to decrease the size each day when I start my laptop. I haven't experienced that with other laptops and I am still trying to figure this one out.Overall, this laptop performs very well and I feel it will work out perfectly for my needs. There are a few things (as mentioned above) which I would have expected to see on a laptop in 2024 at this price point. But most of all, over the last 5 days I didn't experience any problems and everything works well. Every device I connected to it (i.e., Headphones, Earphones, Mouse, USB drive and external SSD drives) connected and functioned with ease. I also expect this laptop by HP will continue to perform well as did my previous one did considering HP's reputation and commitment to service. I would certainly recommend this laptop to others and it would make a great gift.
