I bought this as my 2 year old Canon MG5660 decided to expire after not much use (would not recommend!!) and was pleasantly surprised by same day delivery. The printer itself is much smaller than I imagined, a third of the size of the Canon which frees up some desk space and the free ream of paper was a nice bonus. Really easy to set up (If you follow the instructions! Just make sure the WiFi on your computer is turned on) took about 5 minutes.Prints, scans and copies very well from PC and phone (Samsung S22) and the HP Instant Ink free 2 month trial is awesome at the price compared to buying cartridges normally. This is an ideal printer for home/occasional use, not ideal for heavy print users - they should probably look at something in a higher price bracket. ... MoreI bought this as my 2 year old Canon MG5660 decided to expire after not much use (would not recommend!!) and was pleasantly surprised by same day delivery. Prints really well if a little slow, the scanner/copier takes a little getting used to but once you have the hang of feeding the paper in it works fine for such a small unit. All in all I'm very happy with this purchase and would recommend.

No instructions included, took 4.5 hours to set up. Does not print when connecting wirelessly, needs cable and even then doesn’t print half the time. Needs new printer cartridges every single time you print. Even if leaving for a week and performing multiple cleanings and alignments still doesn’t work. Even with new cartridges pages come out misprinted. Scanner is awful. Paper feed jams consistently. Flimsy piece of garbage and a waste of space and money. I have owned 5 printers in the last 20 years and this is the absolute worst, every HP I have had has been terrible

I bought this printer recently because of it's compact size and the reviews on here.Be warned this is the most counter intuitive printer ever made by HP and not at all user friendly! You have to download an HP app to your computer to use it and all of the features are online. I could not scan a document without first creating an HP account, then to use any of the features connected to my computer I have to have a strong internet connection (which isn't always possible where we live).*A simple print job is okAnything other than copying or direct printing is incredibly frustrating to do.If you connect the printer to a network and then have to change the network the printer simply will not do it unless you have a cable of course which doesn't come with this ... MoreI bought this printer recently because of it's compact size and the reviews on here.Be warned this is the most counter intuitive printer ever made by HP and not at all user friendly! You have to download an HP app to your computer to use it and all of the features are online. Constant Issue
29 January 2023

I have had constant issues with this printer. I was looking for a fuss free option to print from laptop and phone.Issues include:- not printing, popup message says it is offline. I have tried many, many options to 'bringit back online' to no avail.- If/when it does print, it will only print one page, then the paper button flashes and I have to manually press it to release the next page/s.Not sure what else I can do about it except dump it and buy another. It is too cantankerous.

Constant connection issues
29 June 2022

Had bought the printer/scanner as an all in one system to use via laptop and mobile tablet & phone. Had nothing but consistent issues with it trying to connect, even via a USB cable. The HP 'Smart' App constantly crashes and fails to see it's own product. At times it would print directly through Windows drivers but the HP App would fail to 'see' it's own printer. Would require the constant removal and re-installation of the App and drivers on every occasion I needed to use it. Online searches show many complaints from other users with the HP 3700 family range of printers. Will never buy a HP product again. Gave me nothing but shear frustration every time I needed to use it.

Couldn't use due to Internet Speed Requirements
13 March 2023

I was happy to buy a printer this cheap but I quickly figured out why it's so cheap. It will only link up to 2.4 GHz connections on wifi or direct to Ethernet cable. I use my phone as a hotspot for internet and it's on 5GHz, so no dice. This information isn't advised on the package either, so it was a time wasting exercise. Thankfully, Officeworks gave me a refund easily and I purchased something I can use.

I've only been using USB cable. The Wifi instructions were quite confusing and taking up so much of my valuable time. I would expect the printer to work faster with cable than Wifi but to my surprise, I ended up with numerous problems:- Very irresponsive. I would have to hold the power button for more than 5 seconds just to turn it on or off. Afterwards it takes a long while to turn on or off. I've reached a point where the printer's power button is flashing and no longer responding. I don't think I can print ever again.- Too many error notifications: This device can't even print more than 2 or 3 pages without error. I ended up going to the printer interface to cancel the print que. It takes a long while for it to cancel the print so I decided to turn off the printer, turn it back on and retried printing. It ends up working though only for 1 page. Getting a successful print is purely based on luck.- Very poor printing: I tried printing in colour and the page that came out was not even properly aligned even though I selected the 'align page' settings.- Too slow: I find myself waiting around 15 seconds just to get a print.- Incompatibility: It cannot print files that you opened from emails into a new tab. You have to save the file and open it up in a software like Adobe. This will increase your chances of getting an actual print.I'm very dissapointed in this. I get what I paid for I guess. I'm going to have to buy a better printer.

All I did was plug it in to power and attach with USB to my Mac. The Mac and Deskjet connected to each other immediately and set up the Wifi connectivity with very little input from me. When that was done I unhooked the USB connecter and now it talks to all my Mac's and MacBook's without a hitch. For iPhones you just download the HP app from the App Store and you're done an dusted. I've had wifi capable printers from other manufacturers for years and still never managed to get them connected to wifi so I'm very impressed with my 3720. Not only that but it's soooo small! It's 32x19x17. Takes up less than 1/2 the space my previous printer did. .....and as if that wasn't impressive enough, when I sent a page to print....it printed! Straight away! No dithering with the print heads or having to mess about with the paper. It's just like having a printer 15 years ago before they got all clever. This thing just works! The only con is you'll be lucky to get 5 pages out of the colour cartridge that comes with it. I think I printed 3 pages and it just ran out of ink, so get yourself some refill bottles (yes, you can refill the cartridge yourself and the printer won't get all temperamental like C---n printers do).

Network issues
16 October 2022

This is a basic level printer and a convenient size. I don't expect a high-quality print. When I first purchased it, it worked as expected. However then our internet network changed, and since then the printer has not been able to maintain a consistent connection to wifi. I spent hours online with HP and they eventually replaced the printer. However the new printer also cannot stay connected to wifi - to print it's an elaborate set of steps, unplugging it from the wall and then trying to print in the first 2 mins that it reconnects.I have wasted hours trying to get through to HP, downloading their different apps and problem solving. It simply doesn't work, don't waste your time/money on this product.

Portable and economical.

It's a good buy! very affordable yet it does the job in very satisfactory manner. For a student and working like me, it's a must-have for printing, copying and scanning purpose. It prints and scans from your wireless device like laptop or mobile phone. It is very portable and economical, but not for those that needs a more quality print like photos.
