For years I have operated with two printers—one laser and one inkjet. My current laser printer is a Kyocera colour laser and my most recent ink-jet printer was a Brother. It has multi colored lights for different modes. They are unnecessary and again, if the printer is in a multi use room or bedroom, you need to turn the whole thing off it you don't want it permanently sending out a blue light. The paper support for printing on my 110 came out automatically when the printing function was activated. This one is manual, so if you do use remote printing, the paper shoots out onto the floor unless you leave the support extension permanently open. These are all obvious not key things that impact on the core function of the printer but it makes for a disappointing new purchase. I liked the 110 much better.

First, HP forces you to sign up for their customer program. Then they strong arm you into using their HP+ ink program by declaring how many pages you're going to use and agreeing to pay extra if you happen to use more. Your usage is constantly monitored. You have no choices in brands of replacement ink cartridges. They can deactivate your cartidge. I loaded the software but the printer glitched and despite 3 hours online with tech support, they could never get the printer past error messages. They even remotely accessed my computer to try to fix it but never got it done. I returned this printer and will never buy an HP again. I bought an Epson laser instead and it has performed beautifully!

The Envy 6020e is so ridiculously easy to set up and use. There's not much else to say really - so long as you follow the instructions on the printer itself and onscreen you really can't go wrong. Scanning and printing are both incredibly quiet compared to our old clonky HP printer and despite it being a bigger printer than our old one it actually takes up less space (I know, me neither). The integral paper tray design is inspired and means that what you see is exactly what you get, and the ink-changing could not be easier, its just all so accessible. When I've looked at comparable printers this one beats the rest for simplicity and value. Taking advantage of the 6 month Instant Ink makes so much sense and with code pb83gf you get an extra 3 months free!

I bought this printer just over a year ago. I bought it because of the outstanding HP Envy 4500 I have had for several years with great results! This is a loser. The first 6 months it was ok, but had a few connection issues. Now, just over a year, it will not stay connected and takes hours to connect when it does. It would print the printer info forms, but now it will not print documents and when it did, they looked like the black ink was empty, but it wasn't. And finally last night it simply died. No power, will no come on after numerous attempts to reset and plug and unplugging. I'm done. I signed up for HP instant ink and never got one cartridge and I assume it was because the printer would not stay connected. My wifi is good, this is trash today.
