Hungry Bin Worm FRAM with 1000 Worms and Accessories
Unique design and Highly productive Simple to harvest castings No heavy lifting and Small footprint Hungry Bin Dimensions: 60cm (W) x 65cm (D) x 95cm (H) Weight: 16kg The hungry bin is a continuous flow system. When operated correctly, continuous flow systems are far more efficient than worm farms that use stacked trays. The unique shape of the bin creates a large surface area allowing all the worms living in the hungry bin to easily access the food scraps at the top – exploiting the fact they’re surface feeders, and increasing their processing capacity. The tapered sides also encourage the worms to stay on the surface, while compressing their castings below. Once the compost process is complete, the hungry bin is designed to allow the simple and easy harvest of both finished castings and liquid fertiliser. Harvesting castings does not involve any heavy, messy lifting. The floor of the bin is easily removed, allowing approximately 4 litres (3/4 gallons) of castings to break away at the bottom of the taper. This allows the easy removal of finished castings from the bin. Removing the castings is a relatively clean process. Finished castings are largely free of worms. The lid is at a comfortable operating height, and convenient to open and close. Tight fitting, it prevents pests from entering but has sufficient venting to create healthy airflow. The hungry bin even has wheels, making moving the bin light work. The Kit also includes a 9L Slim Caddy, 1000 Worms and a hessian sack blanket.

The bin itself is pretty good. Main issue with it is that the worm pee just falls out the bottom onto a tray. Would be great if there was a tap instead so that it could be funnelled into bottles. The big issue that I have with this package is that I thought it was a complete package. However the coco peat that you get only makes about 10-15 litres of worm bedding and the instructions say to use 80 litres, so I had to go buy another 5 blocks for around $30 on total. The instructions also say to start with 2000 worms but the kit only comes with 1000.Other than that, I’m very happy with the product. The kit was good value versus the standalone bin.

Great bin. Only negative is this kit should come standard with 2000 worms.

The bin was reasonably easy to assemble; important for me as I don't enjoy assembling things. Once together and operating it's very simple to just feed it regularly and the worms do the rest. Have enough garden to feed what the worms discard.
