Hyperlite Mountain Gear Side Entry Dyneema Pod 10L

I've been using the zipper pods for our quilts. but they are a bit snug and great care must be taken. I thought these side entry roll down buckle versions would be better. They are certainly nicer to stuff, no risk of snagging an expensive quilt, but they tend to be more roundish than form fitting. But still like them. With a smaller quilt they work better. I'm trying to stuff a long wide feathered friends into 10 liter and regular into an 8. Work fine in large and small pod but this new style, again, doesn't nest in the pack as nicely. But a more confident dry storage. Still gave 5 stars.

Makes it much easier to pack up. I used to stuff my quilt in the bottom of my pack, but the pod is easier and quicker.I got the 10 liter size, it will fit my 30 degrees regular-wide quilt along with a thermarest x-lite pad. It fits my 22 degrees wide quilt by itself but it’s a bit of work and it’s a tight fit.Fits snuggly into the bottom on my Southwest 40 L. Hiked all day in rain on the AT and everything was completely dry.We’ll worth the money and the weight.

The side entry pod fits in the pack perfectly and offers a handle for carrying. The roll down closure allows the bag to be sized to its contents. I got the largest size and adjusted the closure as items were pulled out. I used one for holding layers of warm clothes as we gained altitude. A second side entry pod held rain gear, gloves and other items I needed to grab easily. The handle made it easier to remove from the pack as compared to the top entry zipper pods. Delivery was fast.
