Hypnotic Poison Eau Sensuelle by Christian Dior 1.7 oz EDT

Hypnotic poison smells kinda like a root beer float to me. I'm sure it performs differently for others, but for me it is a very safe scent that could be worn anywhere including work. It's very light, not strong at all. Someone would literally have to be right up on me to smell it. It lasts about six hours which isn't too bad, but I was expecting it to last all day. It's not a deal breaker but I would tell anyone interested in buying this perfume to test it on their skin first for a day to make sure that you like the scent and it's performance.

What can I say, I adore this scent. I am a fragrance lover and I have many many perfumes but I always come back to my Hypnotic Poison. It's a powdery, vanillic fragrance with an amazing nutty almond and spice undertone. It's sweet without being gourmond or cloying, and a perfect transition scent for anyone wanting to smell more "grown" without smelling too mature. It smells expensive, inviting, warm, and seductive. Oddly enough, I think this could pull unisex on the right man but otherwise on women it smells very feminine and sexy. Some people online have complained about a "play doh" undertone to it but I don't smell that at all. I suppose it all comes down to skin chemistry so it might be worth trying it out at the store before buying.

Chemist Warehouse offer the absolute best price on this very expensive and quality fragrance (gorgeous bottle with the most delicious scent within - not sure what “notes” it contains, but in my opinion I think vanilla is the strongest one of the bunch), yet always package it so well for safe and speedy delivery. Whenever I wear it, Hypnotic Poison always gets a lot of comments on how amazing it smells - and it lasts well into the night after wearing all day! For the price of this perfume, it is a great value. If you live in colder climates you could wear this all year long, but otherwise this is not for warmer climates. Very unique, I’ve never had another fragrance that I would compare it to. Seductive vanilla and amber. The amber in here reminds me slightly of that iconic BR540 which is like ozonic and mesmerizing to me. The vanilla is the star of the show but as it stays on skin longer, it becomes much more complex than just vanilla. Lasts forever and a couple spritzes go a long way. This scent smells exactly as the bottle portrays it. Like a red vixen. PS…some ppl get playdoh vibes from this,and I can kind of see what they mean, but it’s just for a split second.

Definitely a classic from Dior. The packaging is adorable first of all! Reminds me of an apple! The name is also kinda cool. Hypnotic poison is very memorable. As an EDT formulation, this does not last at all. I would rate longevity a 2/10, it is a skin scent within minutes after spraying. Projection is soft, you have to stick your nose close to smell it. The scent though is lovely. An almond marzipan dream. It does sometimes smell a bit like playdough but I don’t mind it. The opening does remind me of root bear but the drydown is stunning!

I think this is a timeless scent. It has a lot of notes but in general it smells sweet but not too much: This is not an ultra gourmand but it has that almondy vanilla type of sweetness that gives you a warm, cozy vibe. Ultra long lasting with a big projection. Great for autumn and winter. I think this is a very beautiful scent but not unique and preatty "grown" in fact EVERYWHERE you go, you'll find someone that smells like hypnotic poison and is usually a mom, an aunt or a grandma.

I cannot believe I have gone all of my life without indulging in the perfection of this decadent, warm, spice vanilla. It is heavenly. It smells like a cloud of vanilla with a hint of spice and musk. The dry down is truly something special and the sweetness lasts for hours! The bottle is beautiful and displays elegantly along with all of my other fragrances. This is absolutely a cold weather perfume in my opinion. A little goes a very long way and the freshness, the warmth, the spicy notes and the decadent vanilla just get better as the hours go by. This is one of my signature perfumes. The notes are vanilla heavy, kind of boozy and warm. I wear this all year round, not just in the winter months. It’s a very sexy and feminine scent. If you like gourmand scents, you will like this. My only issue is the longevity. It fades in an hour or so, so you will have to keep reapplying. Projection is decent but could be better. I will still continue to use this though!
