I'm Toy - Melody Mix

Purchased for my 9m old, however my 4yo and 2yo also love it.Nice sounds, pretty to look at, sturdy. You need to flip the whole thing over to change from using the xylophone to the drum, which is a bit annoying because everything falls out. The chimes string isn't tied, so they end up moving out of place and looking messy, a simple knot during construction could help avoid this.Its really great and wish I had purchased earlier instead of the plastic rubbish my eldest has. Definitely recommend?!

This toy is well constructed, attractive and engaging. However, if you are musical and have good pitch the xylophone will drive you bonkers because it is out of tune. It comprises eight xylophone bars but it certainly does not play an octave of notes! Solution: turn it over and only use the drum!, other than that, it's pretty good.

All round, a good toy.

My son is really enjoying this (1, even thought it's recommended for 3 yrs), and I am quite happy with it. Just a few little things, in that a the frames for the triangle and chimes don't fit snugly into the holes so they wobble, several of the xylophone 'bars' produce the same note, and you can only access the drum/xylophone by flipping the whole thing upside down. It's also a little expensive, but its made of good quality material with a lovely colourful finish, so fair enough!

Consistent winner at our house!

I bought the Melody Mix for my daughters 1st birthday as a toy she could grow into and share with her many cousins. It has been a consistent winner at our house! She was able to play the rattles and drum immediately, has always loved playing the chimes and now at nearing 3 years old it is still well played with and in EXCELLENT condition.A very sturdy toy, it is often played with by several children at once, of varying ages from 1 to 5. One child can have all the parts out, or as our Miss likes to do, she can take one smaller instrument on outings.Fabulous product that I would recommend to anyone, and would buy again (but it's still in one piece so there's no need!).

I can not rate this product highly enough.My son has found his passion for musical instruments and this items gives him a choice of so many wonderful instruments all in one confident space. I love how each instrument has it's own spot and is easy for him to access.The quality is high and made of excellent, strong materials.`

Although it says 3+ there are no clear choking hazards (unless you have a kid who will smash open the maraca).Pros:* he loves it* it is safe and colourful* the range of percussion is lovely (and not too loud. Not a whistle or kazoo in sight)Cons:* not as easy to flip from xylophone to drum as I had hoped. You need to turn the whole frame rather than just the centre which means removing everything. It isn’t particularly tuneful and the tones aren’t all different, in the correct order or evenly spaced (tonally) . For example the second lowest bar (orange) is actually lower than the lowest bar (red). While this doesn’t matter if all you want is to make noise, you cannot “play” tunes on it.I suppose that i was expecting more for something at this price point.At the end of the day, I’m really glad we bought it as he loves it and really that is what matters most.

We’ve been having a great time with this toy. A well made wooden toy with lots to keep a little one entertained, he loves the sound of the chimes and the different handheld instruments add to the fun with a variety of sounds.

Melody Mix Music Set

I brought this for my little 2 year old grandson who loves music. It has a variety of different musical instruments, which produces varying sounds and different actions to use them. It is colourful and compact. He just loves it.

What a fantastic gift for my grandchild, who can use it from babyhood onwards. So many different instruments and sounds to hear, play and enjoy. Plenty of instruments to share with little friends, and easy to pack away. Colourful and sturdy construction ensures longevity. Highly recommended.

Very happy, great quality

My daughter has loved this from the moment we pulled it out of the box. We got it for her first birthday which is younger than is recommended but I can’t see anything that looks overly hazardous and she absolutely loves it. It’s excellent quality and has lots of variety for little hands to explore. The only minor quibble is the xylophone is an odd, minor key - but that’s no big deal, it still sounds nice, you just can’t play as many nursery rhymes. This is the best birthday present we’ve had for our girls!
