This guitar further confirms my opinion that of the major guitar manufacturers, ibanez offer the best quality to cost ratio. This thing is beautiful, finished really nicely for a mass produced. The look is excellent (slight fingerprint magnet), really sleak and sexy, and the trans black finish over the flamed maple is an excellent, unique style. The sound is lovely, nice and deep with clear not representation. The additional cutaways make the guitar really playable for an electric player such as myself and give the whole thing a much more ergonomic feel to a standard dreadnought style acoustic. I've not had a chance to put it through an amp yet so can't comment on the amplified sound. It's finished silky smooth and the mahogany just feels so nice in the hand, even nicer than my natural finished mahogany sound gear bass. It is just so playable in any style, thanks in no small part to the slightly narrower space between strings compared to a regular acoustic (another bit of love from Ibanez for electric players)All in all I'm super happy with this little beauty, a terrifically unique addition to my collection

Pros: Guitar plays great once I set it up and changed the strings also has a great tone both plugged in and unpluggedCons: guitar arrived with neck very bowed, I wish Sam ash would set up their online orders like Sweetwater does , input jack was disconnected upon arrived and has to disassemble to reconnect. Not something you want to do with a brand new guitar. Also fretboard was very dry.Overall 7/10. Could be a little more competitive with the pricing as well

Great Acoustic/Electric for playing in a live band
26 August 2021

I play in a rock band and need to be able to change weapons quickly. The Ibanez has a smaller body (fits in a 000 case) and light weight. It's a very comfortable acoustic to play live. The contoured upper front is very natural feeling and comfortable for finger-picking. The asymmetric neck works out great for me - I have a couple Schecters with this and it really improves your reach across the neck the higher up you play. The contoured back with this style cutaway really lets you get up to the top of the fretboard. Even the neck heel is contoured, which I don't think I've ever seen. This guitar is easy to play the full length of the neck. Unplugged it is bright and projects well, though without much on the lower end. Plugged in you've got all the bass you need. The electronics are straightforward and easy to use, and work well. I was expecting to add more bass to the acoustic EQ on the pedalboard, but this wasn't needed as the signal from the guitar is rich and full. Have I mentioned that the finish is gorgeous? Love the flamed top, back, and sides - it has a very high end look. I really like having the XLR output for plugging in to record on a computer. This is not an expensive guitar, but that's the point. The more bars our band plays in, the less inclined I am to take high-end gear out to play. This fits my needs perfectly, and probably should cost more. And, as always, many thanks to the staff and crew at Sweetwater. Guitar arrived well-packaged, in tune, with perfect intonation. Recommend this guitar And Sweetwater to everyone.

I Love Ibanez but wasn't sure what to expect.
16 November 2021

Overall:I have never owned an Ibanez acoustic guitar. I have owned a few of their electrics though. I have come to expect a certain quality from Ibanez. My first Ibanez was S540Sabre and I absolutely LOVED that guitar. I traded my Fender Strat for it. I was into metal and hard rock and the 540 had the sound and look I wanted. I couldn't believe I traded the guy even up for the 540. I did have Lace Sensor pick-up in it and he was looking for more of a bluesy sound and look. Unfortunately I had that guitar stolen from me. I really couldn't afford another guitar like that one until recently, family and life took over. When I found zZounds I could not believe a website music store like this existed! I was in shock! I really couldn't afford another guitar like that one until recently, family and life took over. When I found zZounds I could not believe a website music store like this existed! I was in shock! Since I found zZounds I have gotten another Ibanez S-series, the S670QM and I absolutely love it! I was able to get a RG421 from another local music store but the guitar was lacking some looks and features I wanted but couldn't afford. I was also able to get my first Marshall Half-Stack and a awesome stomp box! Anyway back to this acoustic. I got it today and started to play it right away. I was comparing it to another electric-acoustic I own and was liking the sound of my cheap one over this one until I plugged it in. HOLY *#$! I am super impressed with they way it sounds through my Marshall! Besides it being one of the most comfortable guitars I have ever played the sound through an amp is second to none. My other cheaper acoustic might sound a little better without and amp bit doesn't even come close to this Ibanez when plugged in. Besides the sound this is one of the most sexiest guitars I have ever owned. The looks are amazing! The contour of the body is like a supermodel! I got the Indigo Blue Burst color and it shines! This guitar is by far one of the best looking I have ever owned. I LOVE Ibanez and I am exclusive to them. I highly recommend this guitar to anyone who is looking for a great electric-acoustic to plug in. The neck is super fast and my fingers glide! I gave it a 3 1/2 for sound because of the lack of fullness when unplugged.

23 August 2023

I upgraded from an Ibanez nylon string guitar; I am completely satisfied with this instrument; getting adjusted to the large frets and all steel strings has not been a major problem. I really like the deep cutaway which makes it easier to reach the high notes. Sweetwater's service was excellent from the day I talked with my customer rep until it arrived at my home in 3 days. No tuning adjustments were necessary as it was ready to play as soon as I unpacked it.

Not what I've come to expect from Ibanez
16 July 2022

Overall:I'm an Ibanez player and I certainly wasn't impressed by this addition to my collection.I'm not convinced this guitar is new. It's covered in scuffs and all the metal seems worn. It's much more flattering in stock photos. The line work around body is poor, the edges don't line up. The flamed maple on the sides may as well be solid black. Can't see the flame like in photos. The finish seems to flex when you poke it. If you hold the guitar upside down by the neck and just spin it or wave it back and forth slightly, the neck joint makes a noise as if it's not fully seated or glued. There are obvious spots that were worn down and have been touched up with black paint that doesn't match the finish. It looks as if the headstock logo was either masked off ... MoreOverall:I'm an Ibanez player and I certainly wasn't impressed by this addition to my collection.I'm not convinced this guitar is new. It looks as if the headstock logo was either masked off improperly during the finish, or removed and applied again. It's crooked with a ghost image behind it.It plays decently well, the fret ends are very smooth. Frets themselves where string makes contact is very rough out of the box.

Very nice guitar
1 August 2019

I loved the finish and the body construction where it's convenient to access the higher frets. The guitar just "hugged" the body well when playing. The pickup was very nice with high quality sound output. The guitar sounded a bit "harsh" in the high-end but I supposed you can use the equalizer to tone it down a little. The neck was very high quality which made playing the notes very easy. If you're looking for a warmer sound this is not the guitar but it's excellent for general playing

excellent guitar especially when used with amp
10 June 2020

If you compare to my Faith Saturn (Dreadnaught), this lacks volume, sustain and base. But I bought for the cutaway, the pre-amp and the mid tone. Acoustically the sound is mellow and refined, but much more reserved, not a criticism just the difference, and one I was after. On the other hand, plug in and amp up and you have a different great sounding guitar. Effortless to play, great looking and sooooo comfortable. This was what I wanted as a contrast, this is what I got. Happy Days.Arrived well set up, down tuned a note and very well packaged.
