The perfect start The GRX40 series of Ibanez guitars were introduced in the early part of the 2000s for guitarists that want Ibanez quality and branding but at an entry-level price. In true Ibanez style, the GRX40 plays effortlessly but they are head and shoulders above any other guitar in their price category undergoing the same rigorous inspections as their more expensive counterparts. Effortless The GRX40 body is made from poplar a light but solid tonewood with a slightly brighter sound than traditionally heavier body woods. The neck is one-piece maple and the fingerboard is made from Jotoba a tight resonant wood. The Ibanez GRX neck is immensely playable and has 22 medium frets ideal for beginners. Infinite Tone The infinity range of pickups are also ideal for the beginner electric guitarist and produce the searing leads and chunky rhythms expected of Ibanez but without the extra output, a less experienced guitarist may not be able to handle. The simple tremolo adds the correct flavor of vibrato without causing tuning problems and the chrome hardware complements the Black Night finish. The GRX40 is a great starter guitar but is also of a high enough spec that more experienced guitarists can get that Ibanez feel, without the cost.
