The iperEspresso Brasile is my favorite espresso from illy. I like the taste of espresso more than I do coffee, and whenever I order coffee, it's almost always as a "Redeye" or equivalent: coffee with shots of espresso. Whenever I've wanted straight shots of espresso, to be sipped immediately upon drawing, I've always enjoyed the flavor of illy espresso. Brasile has a warm caramel flavor, without the bittersweet edge that some espresso's have.

Ordered two cans of this product and cannot get the capsules to brew properly. After initial spurt of coffee the brewing just becomes a dribble. It takes five minutes of brewing to get a decent size coffee. Occasionally there are coffee grounds on the bottom of my cup. I have never had any problems with the other varieties of Illy Iperespresso. I don't know if there is too much coffee in the capsules, which would hinder water flow, or if the capsules themselves are defective in some way.

I've been ordering for a few months so every month I change the coffees so I can taste them all. The Guatemalan coffee is on my top 2 flavors. I can't describe the flavor except that it isn't bitter. Some reviews state it has notes of cocoa but I don't. I just find it a perfect blend of not too strong nor too light. Ill definitely order again.
The coffee is great. The website is horrible. I am a long time drinker of Illy drip coffee. When I was setting up my subscription for coffee bean delivery I saw I could get a free iperEspresso machine with a capsule subscription. I have absolutely loved it. I've switched almost completely to cappuccinos in the morning. Guatemala is my favorite. My only problem is how hard it is to try different flavors with my subscription. The website makes it almost impossible to add new and different coffees once you set it up. So when you set up a subscription, add this one. You won't be disappointed.
I'm really disappointed in illy. We've been subscribers for years and are on our second machine. The last few batches of pods have been defective! We contacted customer service and they told us they couldn't assure us that pods wouldn't be defective that we ordered as a replacement. Well, they were right. The problem continues. We thought it might be a bad batch of Brasile but now it is happening with these Guatemala pods too. Basically, the seal between the top of the body and the body of the pod is not well bonded on half the pods. It's like playing coffee roulette. Sometimes they will brew fine and other times the top unseals causing a distinguishing and annoying mess of grounds and water all over the machine and counter to clean up. I bought this a month ago. the product tastes great. However, some capsules break during brewing and water spills out from all sides. Happened more than once. Have to throw these out and use another.
I bought the Guatemala espresso to replace the idillyum iPer espresso on my regular subscription order. Idillyum has been out of stock everywhere for more than a few months. I prefer the Idillyum as it is much smoother and has richer complexity in flavor than any coffee I have ever tasted. I am using the Arabica iPer Guatemala espresso only as a substitute. It is a bitter cup in comparison. Four stars because it’s the closest I could get as a substitute, one star off for the somewhat acrid taste. No word when or if my preference becomes available again.
I bought 4 coffee machines one being an Illy espresso machine with capsules as well as the equipment and coffee pods from the competing companies.I found Illy to be superior in all categories such as the machine ease of use and the great taste of the Illy coffee products as well as appearance and smells of Illy espresso offerings for sale.I highly recommend Illy over any other coffee product company.My favorite coffee on the market is the Arabica Selection iperEspresso Guatemala for the taste, aroma and appearance.
I love their classic blend and was hoping that a single origin might be worth trying. This was a massive disappointment. Not for me. No body and very little taste
