I admit I wasn't expecting much with the "USB powered pump" but it actually works great, and there is a manual fill valve with one way valve for when power is not available. There is an integrated 8' long USB-A cable housed in a storage compartment on the pump. You must use at least a 2 amp output USB device, and you can use a 12V adapter, charger brick, or even a charger battery bank as long as any of them have the requisite 2 amp output. I actually used my little Red Fuel car jumpstarter which is just an 8000 mAH battery pack that isn't much bigger than a cell phone. The mattress fully inflates to nice firmness with that in just five minutes and only uses 6% of my jump ... MoreThis mattress is fairly inexpensive yet is a great option for camping or extra space for guests. The mattress fully inflates to nice firmness with that in just five minutes and only uses 6% of my jump starter's power. Deflation takes the same amount of time and power. The pump has a dial for OFF (valve closed), inflate, and deflate. It's simple to use. The instructions even come with a diagram of how to fold it up so it goes back in the box easily. It also comes with a small patch of repair material. The materials are what you'd expect at this price point, just a velvet-like flocked top and vinyl everywhere else. It would be nice to have a carry bag like my older air mattress, that's the only thing I could think of to improve this one.
I had been looking for an air mattress for some friends coming to visit over this coming summer. I was so thrilled when i found this one. Is is perfect for my needs. One big reason, is....This one had a fast built in pump that that is able to fill the mattress in minutes, so i won't need to leave it up during the day. Another reason is that any usb plug will work, no need for special adapters. I can even use my phones wall adapter to blow up the mattress. Another reason is thre simplicity of cleaning. I don't have to worry about it. It's wipe and put away. My next visitors won't have to sleep on stains or anything like that. The last reason i chose this one was the size, it was perfect for 2 people and i wouldn't have to worry about them having room to sleep. We use air mattresses often going camping and usually use a separate air pump to pump up the air mattress.I saw this Intex Durable-Beam Standard Prestige Air Bed and thought how cool that it uses a built in USB to charge and deflate. So I got the queen size standard air mattress. On the front of it is like a little control panel. It has inflate, deflate and lock. Beside that is a little box that holds the attached USB cord, it also has a stopper where you can still charge it with an air pump.I connected the USB plug into a wall charger, turned the knob to inflate. It took about 7 minutes to fully inflate. I turned it to lock when I was done. To deflate turn the knob to deflate, but it has to be plugged into the USB. It literally got all the air out, that allowed me to fold it away without any extra work and it actually fit right back into the box so I could easily store it away. Plus you can still air it up like a normal air mattress with a pump, it’s always great to have a back up method in case one goes wrong. Must have for campers it’s awesome.
