Great for a inflatable. Had since about 2020. Pretty good for a kayak (at least easier to transport then my regular ridged kayak). Great if you are not sure you want the hassle of a regular kayak, but not sure if you need one while camping. Used in several lakes so far, haven't used in Puget sound yet. I admittedly weigh alot, so so does have a slight bend if i don't get the inflation perfect (my fault, need more salad). Pump is amazing for a hand pump. Use that pump for so many other things. Kids also like to use kayak as a toy (stripped of the paddles and seats) while swimming at lakes. Another use is as a ball pit in the basement during winter! Kids love jumping into its soft sides. Leave it inflate with the balls in it for a month with little air leaks.

This is our second Intex Explorer K2 Inflatable Kayak. We've had the first one for going on 3 years. My sister and her husband are visiting from New York, and we wanted to go kayaking with them, so purchased this one. We use it a lot in lagoons, creeks, rivers, at the State Park, and other bodies of water. We like the ease of navigating it, the convenience of transporting it to various places, and how quickly it is to inflate and deflate. It is sturdy has only had one small leak in the seam, which we patched and it has worked great ever since. The price has gone up a little, but it has been three years, so I guess that's just inflation. It is worth it as renting kayaks is much more expensive over time. I like the fact that any time we see a body of water we want to try, we can. It has actually saved us money and paid for itself over and over. It's exactly as shown, and includes everything except life vests, which we purchased separately. (They were only $8.00 each.) We've used the hard kayaks, and they aren't as easy to steer nor are they as comfortable as the Intex Explorer K2 Inflatable Kayak. We ordered the Kayak on Wednesday afternoon, and it was delivered on Thursday morning. Great delivery service! Walmart also had the best price.

The base, for example, is solid enough to stand up on when inflated and in the water without the boat folding. This is of great assistance when getting in and out.The boat is extremely stable in the water, and you would have to make a supreme effort to tip it over. Its handles small waves very well. The one design flaw that I really hate is the ribbing on the sides of the boat. The seam in the rubber is along the top of the sponsor. The standard paddles are also rather short. This means that you will brush your hand on the seam which can be painful if you are not careful to avoid doing so2 buoyancy aids will cost you the same as the boat but do get them, particularly with kids involved.Theres room for two 6 footers with a rucksack stowed at each end. I use it with my son, and we pack the kitchen sink for a day on the river. Its a great way to get into boating on your local river or canal. For the money, it has delivered so many wonderful memorable times for my boy too. Best impulse buy EVER.Sorry, long review.

Bought this when it was at an all time low price and for the money about 80 I think, it was a bargain. Put it all together at home first just to ensure I knew what I was doing and was surprised how quickly it was to blow up and assemble. Ive been out on it twice now in the calm waters of Poole harbour and I was pleasantly surprised how quickly this goes with two people paddling. I had thought with the less streamline shape than this solid kayaks that are like a dart in the water, it would be slow going, but get both passengers working in sync and you get places surprisingly quickly. I had thought with the less streamline shape than this solid kayaks that are like a dart in the water, it would be slow going, but get both passengers working in sync and you get places surprisingly quickly. You do sit quite low in it compared to traditional kayaks, so you have to dig the paddels into the water each side, which means you get a bit of splash back from the other side, but not too much. The main problem I found is getting enough back support from the seats to sit upright. Im getting on a bit second half of my 50s and Im not as nimble or flexible as I used to be, so found it quite uncomfortable at first before I got into a good position. You have to pull the straps for the seats really tight to get the backrest to actually hold you upright. Interestingly, I found it far more comfortable in the back seat, whereas my wife found it better in the front. Horses for courses I guess. I have invested in a rechargable electric pump to save all the manual pumping to inflate it, purely to save my back, but I havent tried that yet. Its easily liftable by two once inflated and getting into it was easier than I imagined it would be you just sort of fall into it from the side. Felt very safe in it out on the water too considering Im a nonswimmer I did have a lifejacket on too though. All in all great fun at an affordable price.

I lay the blame firmly at Amazon for making purchases like this too easy, but one day a few weeks back I was living my normal, nonwatersport partaking life, the next day I had a two person kayak on my doorstep. Everything comes in a single heavy bag that feels like it will disintegrate at any minute. Included is the kayak, two sets of paddles, an excellent pump, two seats and a shark fin thing that is fun to hold in the water and scare your 4 year old child with. Within 15 minutes everything was assembled, inflated and ready to go, its incredibly easy to put together and basically fool proof. The main air compartments go up in no time with the included pump, but weirdly the tiny end pieces which are not structurally critical are a nightmare to inflate, they deflate quicker than it seems possible to inflate and shut the valve.Im not sure if it was mentioned in the instructions of course Ive not read them but there is what looks like another valve at the back at floor level, this is presumably to aid drainage once back on dry land. Yeah I didnt plug that first time out, despite taking on water the kayak never felt unstable or at risk of sinking. Fool proof, eh The kayak comfortably held several inches of water, me 6ft and my 4 year old with plenty of room left for our things and the bag, pump etc. You could probably even stand up in it quite comfortably but Im not about to try. Its easy to steer and will move along at a pretty reasonable pace, Ive been out in it on my own a few times as well and its perfectly usable as a oneperson kayak.Deflation is easy, open the valves and its pretty much down in two minutes. Unlike every tent ever, it actually fits back in the bag without needing a PhD in origami as well, a huge bonus when youve had a long day on the water. We love it, a genuine bargain for what appears to be a very well made and thought out piece of kit.

Time will tell. Opened the kayak and pumped up to take a better look at it. The sides of the kayak have lots of deep fold markscreases. Ive included photos so you can get a feel for them on some it is possible to see the white mesh material would be good to know if anyone else has had this. Hoping these are nothing serious, but at this point uncertain if they could develop into holes that some other reviewers have described. Hoping the weather will pick up next week so I can take it out for a test run. Hopefully, it will hold up. Not happy with the crease marks as they look quite deep, but as long as they dont affect the functionality then its just a cosmetic thing then it will be ok. Ill update the review once its been out on the water...

Worth every penny Honestly struggling to say something bad about this particular kayak... See my edit belowMy ONLY reservations The bag it comes with is rather thin and flimsy I can see the zip tearing from the fabric at some point despite being careful. The bag itself is not designed for carrying long distances either. I found having both handles over a single shoulder made carrying the weighty kayak much more comfortable that simply holding it at my side with my hands.Where the rubbery material of the kayak is joined together there are small smooth ridges a mm or two high. One such ridge is about level with where my hands sit naturally when I paddle the boat in the water. It is only of very slight discomfort when my hands brush against it....and thats it ... MoreWorth every penny Honestly struggling to say something bad about this particular kayak... One such ridge is about level with where my hands sit naturally when I paddle the boat in the water. It is only of very slight discomfort when my hands brush against it....and thats it Everything else about this boat is perfect considering its price. Time will tell of its durability Ive taken mine onto various rivers around eight times now. Ive been on similar inflatable kayaks that have cost three times as much money and handle almost exactly the same and are less easy to look after a fabric coating for example. I wholeheartedly give this product both thumbs upEDIT Its only fair for me to add to this review that today I was inflating my kayak and a 80mm split appeared along one of the PVC seams rendering my kayak sadly broken. Ive looked into repair options but because of the size of the hole and its position Im not holding out too much hope. Ive had this kayak for about a year and Ive used it around 25 times. Most of my kayak excursions were out onto my local river, but Ive also taken it out onto the sea a few times great fun but that sand is annoying. I consider myself having looked after it well while not being too precious about it either I dont think I ever over inflated it, I avoided sharp objects and always tried to let it dry out before folding it away. Although I feel like Ive got good use out of this kayak for its money and considering this is a budget model too, Im nevertheless going to deduct a star because I genuinely thought Id be out on the river for a few years to come.SECOND EDIT So, I decided to give fixing the kayak a shot and with a bit of research I bought Highlander Stormseal Adhesive from Amazon and applied a whole tubes worth of glue over the damaged seam. Giving the glue time to set I blew the kayak halfway up then added a second generous coating to be extra sure. Today I took my newly fixed kayak back out onto the river and Im extremely happy to say that it took the full punishment of being blown fully up and being folded away back into the bag afterwards. I guess Ill always be that little bit more careful of how I inflate the kayak and pack it away but despite the fix itself looks a little messy Im so glad to have my kayak back in working order again

Wrong You need to buy life jackets separately, but this canoe comes with a hand pump, two collapsible paddles and a skeg like a keel which assists steering. You need nothing extra to get yourself on the water.Concern 2 It would take ages to inflate. Wrong The instructions are straight forward and it took two of us about 5 minutes to inflate using the hand pump. The valves are designed so that no air comes out when you pull the pump nozzle out. It really was very easy. Dont overinflate. The instructions say firm to the touch but not hard. This is what we did and it was perfect.Concern 3 It would lose air ... MoreI am so impressed with this product. It was as good coming out of the water after 2 hours as it was going in at the beginning.Concern 4 It would take ages to put away again. Wrong We collapsed it after use and then reinflated it when we got home, in order to hose it down. After a couple of hours drying in the garden I collapsed it and folded it up again very quickly.Concern 5 It would come in one of those bags where once you use it for the first time you would NEVER get it back in again. Wrong Once collapsed and folded it easily fit in the bag together with all of its accessories.Concern 6 In use it would be easy to puncture. Well weve only used it the once but the river was quite shallow in parts. We had to remove the skeg which took about 10 seconds to do and even then we ran aground more than once. Yes, of course we were careful but the material seems durable and hardwearing, so providing you are not stupid with it I think it will last well.Concern 7 It would be very unsteady and easy to overturn. Wrong We certainly didnt try to overturn it, but it was easy to get into and out of and I was able to stand up just to grab onto bridges and branches without too much of a problem.Overall we are really pleased with this product and cant wait to get out on the river again.

Initial impressions after first use....Packing and instructionsFits easily inside the bag. Quite heavy but then it is a sturdy twoseater so this is to be expected. If you need to carry some distance, Id recommend removing oars, pump and seats and putting in a second bag. I was glad I unpacked and practiced at home as I was much more confident when we got to the water. Note, assembling the paddles was confusing until I realised the instructions cover two different types and there are two diagrams depending on type.AssemblyGenerally very easy. After a practice takes 10mins. The air compartments 4amp5 spray decks at front and back were a little fiddly they are small and deflated immediately I pulled out the pump. I realised best to inflate by mouth only 4 or 5 puffs, then push a thumb up under the valve to seal it shut before plugging the top.On the waterYoull get a bit wet so wear suitable clothing. Very sturdy and stable. Consensus is that its practically impossible to capsize an inflatable kayak. Pick your launch spot with care so you dont break the little fin skeg at the back or get stuck on stones. From a beach, Id suggest floating it in backwards until the skeg is well clear of the bottom, then straddle the kayak above your seat so you can just sit down. If launching from a deckcanal side you would normally step into a kayak and put most of your weight on one leg as you got in but Id be wary of doing this in an inflatable. I havent tried yet but I imagine it would be best to sit on the deck and then swiftly and confidently swing round and plop into the boat. Obviously DO NOT get into the hilarious situation where your weight is split between the bank and the boat....Because inflatables have widertaller sides you have to lift the paddles quite high and water will steadily drip into the kayak. I realised its best to have the paddle rings as far out as possible to minimise this. Nevertheless, I would want to land the kayak after an hour or two to drain the water before I ended up sitting in a puddle. Note there is a drainage plug at the back of the kayak to make this easy. The seats were comfortable and I felt quite well supported.Im 6 tall and sat at the back. After an hour my feet got uncomfortable being wedged to the sides of the front seat. We stopped and moved the rear seat as far back as possible and the front seat forward. This made it more comfortable for me but also much improved the handling with our weight nearer the ends we travelled straighter and quicker than before, but obviously not as quick as the rigid hull guys. We were fast enough to not embarrass ourselves.Even with the rear seat fully back, there is room for a 30L drybag behind the seat. As with any trip on the water Id recommend tying it to the grabrope so it doesnt float away should the worst happen.AfterLanding was the reverse of launching come it to shore until its shallow enough to get out and wade any closer and you might break off the skeg.We took a large water container in the car to rinse the saltwater off the kayak to save doing it at home. Then a careful drying off with an old towel before deflating. One advantage of this cheap, singleskin type of inflatable is that you can dry it quickly. More expensive, tougher inflatables that have a second skin over the top retain water much longer and need to be left to air dry for some time.It deflates quickly but the bottom and seat valves are like a lilo you have to squeeze them let the air out if easier you can take the pump hose off the pump and push the nozzle into the valve to let the air escape or push something like a coffee stirrer into the valve to stop it closing up.Id take a waterproof tarp or plastic sheet in the car especially if you dont have time to dry it thoroughly before driving off.SinglehandedAs long as I could park very close to the water I would be happy to take this out just myself. Usually a singlehanded paddler would sit on the back seat with it fully forward but my passenger did manage by herself being right at the front.PuntureI managed to puncture it putting it away after the first use, I guess I pushed it down on something sharp while packing away. So when we next came to use it and found it deflating, we applied one of the supplied patches and waited 30mins. This worked fine for about an hour then the patch started to peel off. The patch would probably have worked better if we had been able to clean the area better. Id say these patches are likely to be fine for just a temporary repair and then to do a better job with a PVC repair kit once home. A fellow paddler said always carry duct tape. Sounds like good advice.DogsIve seen several videos and read a couple of reviews with people taking small dogs in this type of inflatable with some padding in the kayak. Im not brave enough to try my 20kg dog who will want to constantly get inout to swim. Maybe someone else has tried
