Instead of blurring imperfections, the powder settled into fine lines and pores, exaggerating them and leaving me with a texture that was far from the promised "poreless" look.Furthermore, the setting power of the Bye Bye Pores Pressed Setting Powder was anything but impressive. Within a few hours of wear, my makeup began to break down, and the powder itself seemed to disappear entirely. The result was an uneven complexion that required constant touch-ups to maintain a presentable appearance. The most concerning aspect of this experience is the discrepancy between IT Cosmetics' claims and the actual performance of the product. The brand markets this product as a solution for minimizing the appearance of pores and achieving a lasting matte finish. Unfortunately, the reality falls far short of these claims, leaving me to wonder if the brand's marketing is nothing more than empty promises. My disappointment is further compounded by the customer service experience with Sephora. After expressing my dissatisfaction with the product, I received a lukewarm response that lacked any meaningful resolution. It is disheartening to invest in a product that fails to deliver and then receive minimal support from the retailer. In conclusion, my encounter with IT Cosmetics' Bye Bye Pores Translucent Pressed Setting Powder at Sephora has been a resounding disappointment. A little goes a long way so go easy on your first couple of times using it. This has become my only setting powder. I absolutely love it! It does exactly what it is supposed to do and those pores disappear. My skin doesn’t feel or looked dried out or caked on like others have caused and a lot goes a long way. Be very sparing at first until you figure out the amount you need for coverage.I did not receive any products or monies related to this review. Just trying to help others that are considering trying this one.

I've tried a sample size of the regular translucent powder by IT Cosmetics and it worked well. I was happy to receive the full sized compact in the Translucent Tan-Rich shade in exchange for my honest review. The compact itself is matte and sleek. It has a mirror on the inside which is opposite of the packed powder. Under the powder, there is a small compartment for the beauty sponge. I find these sponges to be less than ideal and usually use a fluffy brush to apply instead. The shade is a little darker than my skintone and has a redder undertone but it looks okay on my skin. It gives it an airbrushed look and isn't cakey or heavy. It did a decent job blurring my pores and keeping my skin from getting very oily which tends to happen around my t-zone. I may use it to set my contour or bronzer. I plucked sparse hairs on my face and then used the powder to see if it would hide the redness. The redness still peaked through so I would not use it by itself unless you are okay with minor/major imperfections to show through. It would look good over a BB/CC cream or foundation and keep it in place.
I have used many different powders through the years; I used to be an oily skinned person when I was younger but my skin has turned more normal as Ive aged. This is one of those powders that just plain works. Doesn't matter if you're oily, normal, or dry. It is so incredible smoothing. Pores? Where? They don't exist with this powder. Im serious. The translucent works with a lot of different skin tones (with the exception dark and very deep- which is why they created those shades to accommodate those skin tones). I received the shade deep to test and I have to say, despite this being marketed as a setting/finishing powder, this works AMAZING as a bronzer and I am a bronzer fanatic. I own just about every bronzer on the market, high end, luxury, drug store, I have it ... MoreI have used many different powders through the years; I used to be an oily skinned person when I was younger but my skin has turned more normal as Ive aged. It reminds me of the hourglass bronzers... I reach for this over my holy grails. I will forever purchase this as both a setting powder and now bronzer. It will always be in my collection! Highly recommend! For reference I am a 290 in Fenty foundations in the winter.
The powder does what it's supposed to and helps mattify my foundation on humid/oily days, but it's nothing to write home about. I use it primarily in my T zone and to set my color correcting undereye concealer. I prefer to use a flat top brush to apply rather than the included sponge applicator, and use the minimum amount needed to control oil. This pressed powder arrived already cracked from shipping. I probably should have tried to return or exchange it, but figured it wouldn't be too big of a deal. Unfortunately, it's continued to crumble out of the compact, and because of the compact design (the pan with the powder flips up, while the applicator is stored underneath), I have to be very careful with using it. This powder is nothing revolutionary. It's fine really & not a bad powder by any means. The way I tried it was I replaced my current powder w/this one & it didn't change anything else (Tarte pore filling primer & PoreFessional setting spray) but the IT powder didn't do anything additional in terms of pore reduction, which is what its supposed to specifically address. But it mattified the skin ok without being chalky or giving a dry appearance. The finish was actually pretty nice, but not better. I didn't like how the enclosed sponge applied powder unevenly, like too much in some spots & I had to go in with either a brush or my fingers to blend it away. This isn't better than my UD All Nighter powder but the All Nighter offers the longevity I need in a powder. It can ... MoreThis powder is nothing revolutionary. This isn't better than my UD All Nighter powder but the All Nighter offers the longevity I need in a powder. It can really hang in there when other powders allow that oil breakthrough to occur hours sooner than the All Nighter. So I get the best pore reduction & makeup longevity when the PoreFessional setting spray is added to the equation - which by the way is worth trying bcz it does reduce appearance of pores. I just wanted to try this powder & again, it's okay. It's fine, & definitely deserves the 3 stars I gave. But because it didn't really lessen pores, I couldn't give it more. I couldn't ever get myself to pull the trigger on paying full price for this because I NEVER hear ANYONE talking about it - which is oftentimes meaningful. It was never a heavily talked about or loved product by the masses to begin with but I was always curious about it anyway bcz I really like the brand as a whole. So I grabbed it on Ultas 21 days of beauty at half price but I ended up returning it. I decided that even at $10, I didn't want to keep it bcz I'd rather repurchase the UD powder instead of keeping something I may never use or don't fully like. Although I do still like & use the bye bye redness powder.
I recently got to try It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Airbrush Finish Pressed Powder. I have an affinity for It mascaras and a couple of their liners. I have to admit, though, I have a complicated history with their skin cosmetics and shade range, and assumed a long time ago that they just weren’t for me. It’s not just them, though, and It and other brands are taking nice strides in recent years. My problem, most often, is that as shades get darker, the undertones get more red. My undertone is yellow, so even the right depth of shade looks like a red mask on me.I opted for the shade Translucent Deep, which, I believe, was the deepest shade available. This powder did look a bit reddish on the site, but it looked like the closest to my depth of tone, so I was hopeful ... MoreI recently got to try It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Airbrush Finish Pressed Powder. My undertone is yellow, so even the right depth of shade looks like a red mask on me.I opted for the shade Translucent Deep, which, I believe, was the deepest shade available. This powder did look a bit reddish on the site, but it looked like the closest to my depth of tone, so I was hopeful about this powder when I opened it and saw a deep shade that didn’t look reddish. Turns out, the shade is a perfect match, and for these swatches, I couldn’t even tell where I put it. I did two finger swatches, had a hard time seeing them, and used the sponge to really lay it on. It disappeared with barely any blending. On my face, I’ve heard the phrase “like your skin, but better”, and this is that. I wore it the first couple times over foundation, where it performs very nicely. It does a great job of blurring and minimizing my imperfections. My pores are huge, and there’s no hiding that, but they didn’t look as large, and my face just looked smoother and more uniform. I started to see some breakdown on the sides of my nose about 5 hours in, but that’s usually the case for me, and I just blotted and went about my business, because I’m not much for reapplying. The rest of my face, though, still kept a nice, smooth finish. I find stippling it on and pressing it into my primer or foundation helps this by a couple hours, but doesn’t give same blurring effect as a fluffy brush, so I limit the stippling to my nose and chin. Most often, I just wear this powder, since I do
If I decide on any day to not wear make up, I do wear this. Those are not usual days bc I have some discoloration so I usually wear IT cc cream. I also wear the bye-bye dark spot, concealer, and serum under my eyes, and this just seals the deal. It gives me a flawless finish that lasts all day! I hate to say it’s the holy Grail of setting powder. It’s a blurring powder you don’t need A filter powder I am …59 years old. It doesn’t settle into wrinkles powder. I love this powder. I just bought another one, so I could never run out.Love you, It! - DianaInAmesbury
I have dry skin so I need to use a powder that doesn’t make my skin look more dry. I still, however, want it to mattifying any oils in my tzone and set my make up. I found that this powder does all of that really well. I am however, deducting stars because it’s very fragile and every one that I have gotten has broken. I ended up buying the loose powder version (which is great) Super unfortunate though because I generally prefer a pressed powder to loose powder. It is pricey but I would say it’s worth it if it didn’t break so easily so basically, I think the formula is really great and it does a really good job at blurring pores and making your skin look soft but for the price that it is, you shouldn’t have to worry about it breaking immediately.
