So in 1892 he outfitted a few folk here in Lynchburg with instruments from a mail-order company. The Silker Cornet Band played for more than 20 years promoting Mr. Jack's whiskey. Today, for a new generation for musicians, Jack Daniel's continue to be the spirit behind the music.
