I bought one for my dad who clips it onto his tool belt & takes it out on home inspection jobs, yard/home projects, woodworking, metal detecting, road trips.. you name it! The 3rd one I brought for my brother who uses it mostly while gaming, showers & for photography shoots.Sound Quality:Once again JBL has managed to outshine their competitors and offer some serious sound in a little package. This speaker packs a punch & it has crazy base for its size. It actually thumps which made me laugh considering its small size. As others have mentioned, you might want to consider utilizing an equalizer if you're an avid podcast listener. The base level can drown out the podcast or make conversations sound muddy. Spotify actually has an equalizer built into their app which works great!

I got this the blue JBL Clip 4 as a birthday gift from a WONDERFUL friend. It was such an exciting surprise to receive this speaker and I have been using it NON-stop since receiving the gift. SO HUGE shout out to my friend ;) for the awesome gift.Now to share more about why this speaker is great:1) SUPERB sound quality for such a small speaker2) Great battery life - I am just needing to charge now after 2 days of listening for many hours3) I hear it is waterproof (that’s cool - haven’t tried it out yet)4) Love the blue color!!5) The clip is durable and big enough to fit on most things6) SUPER easy to pair.Overall I just love it and am so thankful to my wonderful friend for the thoughtful gift <3

The good: The sound (A++! for the size), the clip (perfect for hitching onto any bag, article of clothing, etc.), the ease of connectivity (connected to each of my devices with no hang ups).The bad: The rubber on the base and logo was so loose that it began to come off right after opening. I superglued on what I could, and didn't mind having to do that, but what makes me give this a 3 star rating is that the volume up button stopped working within two weeks of purchase. This button is also used for the hard reset of the device which I assume would fix the problem, but alas with it not working I can't perform the hard reset. So I've had to ship back to JBL for a replacement.I assume I likely just got the runt of the pack so to speak and this one couldn't make it ... I was a little disappointed when I realized it doesn't support speaker phone functionality nor does it have the ability to control source media like any other BT speaker I have purchased. This would be fine for someone that only wants to listen to music but misses the functionality most digitally informed users are looking for such as knowing how much battery life is left. On the plus side I am already aquatinted with support because it stopped working after my initial testing.
I bought a jbl clip 3, been using it for years, but the battery is sadly no longer holding a charge or charging. So when i came looking for a new one, i figure upgrading to the jbl clip 4 wasnt a bad idea, same price i paid for the old one. And then as i was trying it out, i come to find they removed features the previous model had. No more phone calls, just audio. No long displays battery life percentage in bluetooth menu. Their "waterproof" is now like phones, no flap to cover the port, just cant charge it until the port dries out. Companies need to stop making new models with less features than the old models. Might ... Excellent pocket sized bluetooth speaker. Typical of JBL it can rock and it can play smooth. Good bass for a small speaker. Not quite as deep bass as other bluetooth speakers like Bose Soundlink but for the price this JBL is good value. My only complaint was I had to return the first one as the sound was choppy. I should've noticed that the seal was not intact and this was most likely a returned product that Best Buy might've simply returned to the shelf from a previous customer complaint instead of having it checked out or stored away. Anyway, Best Buy quickly exchanged it for one that was new with the box seal intact.
