JBL Flip Essential

My boyfriend has one and uses it everyday. He uses it every morning to listen to music or podcasts while showering/getting ready. It’s great to take tailgating. He always takes it outside with him when he’s grilling. And we use it when we hang out around the fire pit or just hanging out on the patio in general. And it does get pretty loud for a small speaker. Just remember to charge it!

Amazing sound! Suggestion to make it even better!

I have this device and it works great. Easy pairing. Except that I have multiple "playing devices" (e.i. FireTV, iPhone, Android, etc.) at home I use this with, sometimes it becomes a bit tedious to have to switch the pairing with each device.I suggest either design a Bluetooth controller box, to where all "playing devices" connect to this controller box, then the controller box only allows 1 "playing device" to play through the JBL Flip sound box.Additionally, it would be nice to have a small remote designed (similar to the one you folks designed for the BoostTV) to control the volumen, turn on/off the JBL Flip sound box and controller. Believe me this 2 new inventions would rock the world! ;)thanks

Awesome headset mic for the price

I would love to have given this product a 5 star rating across the board, except that it has the same problem that almost all headsets with a mic have: When you are on the phone, you can't hear your own voice through the headset. You can only hear your voice in your head and you end up speaking a lot more loudly than you need to. For instance, if you are using this headset in the car (hands-free), it would be most advantageous to be able to hear more than just your phone conversation, wouldn't you agree? This is annoying to me and I wish that an innovative company like yours would find an innovative way to fix it. Overall sound quality is superb and the bass response is excellent, just as one would expect from a JBL product. There is also a button inline that I can't find any instructions for its use. The durability question is kind of irrelevant, considering that this would be determined over a significant period of time and I have only had it for a few weeks and I haven't used it anywhere but in my home, so I can't rate its durability yet.

Great value and quality, battery life a bit short

Great balance of value and acoustic quality. Obviously not studio quality, but probably one of the best 'sweet spot' speakers for most people. Sounds a bit 'bass muddy' out of the box, but spending a little time with phone/device EQ easily fixes that for more crisp, detailed sound. Ideal to keep volume below 70% for best sound and prolong life. Battery life isn't amazing, but build quality is decent for the price. Definitely recommend.

JBL Flip Essential

good little bassy speaker. it's not bad at all for 50 bucks right now. beats most of the competition my friend and I tried to compare it too for the price. wouldn't say it's that good for a small room though, mostly it's good for outdoors if you don't want something super super loud. I take it with my fishing and leave it in my little cart. definitely enough for that purpose. Can actually be a little loud in that situation, but at the pier it's perfect. a lot of people bring their little speakers with them so I drown out their bad music with my good music lol! I wouldn't say it's super good for tailgating it's a little small for that and a little small for the room but then again I like my music very loud.

Just like the last one we lost - maybe better

This is exactly what I wanted and quite a bit cheaper than normal fro Christmas. Go do your price comparisons. There is supposed to be differences between this “Essential “ and all the others, but if you don’t need to pair them, then this thing will make you happy. The bass and sound are outstanding; and the volume will likely never be cranked up all the way unless I am in a stadium. The only negative for me is you can’t pair it with another to have two speakers on opposite ends of the yard.

Good Points: It is really load when turn up. The sound quality is fantastic, very clear. It has two bass speakers at either end which really add to the overall quality of the sound. The speaker is small enough to sit on my desk at home while I do college work. The casing is very robust, and well made, so I have no fear about carrying it around or accidentally dropping it. It charges quickly and the battery had a very long life.Improvement Points: It does not have a type-C charging port, instead having the older type. It is a little inconvenient as most devices now use a type-C.

The speaker itself sounds really good (compared to a CANZ I bought a few years ago from another retailer). But the buying experience was atrocious! I ordered the item 4 different times from my local store, and it was canceled all 4 times due to “low stock”. If the item is out of stock, why allow the transaction to be completed online? And… FOUR TIMES?!I had to drive 4x the distance to another store to finally actually GET the speaker. And the online purchase process denied access to over $11 in Sam’s Cash that I had accumulated prior to the purchase. Seriously annoying!

Unbeatable value. Unmatched bang for buck!

I know there are better sounding or more powerful BT speakers out there but you wont find such a great unit for this price. It sounds incredible. Surprisingly loud, and nice adequate punchy bass from the passive end membranes and pairing could not be easier.Seriously easiest pairing process i have ever seen. Press B once, light changes to flashing blue and echoing tone clearly tells user the device is discoverable.Hangs on to connection from last time and automatically connects SUPER FASTBattery life is EPICI have never run mine out of battery - this includes stints of use of more than 5 hours solid. small package with huge sound

Since I only purchased this speaker based on reviews, I was somewhat unprepared for the incredible full sound that came once I connected. This speaker doesn’t distort at high volume and easily handles the low notes. No thump just real bass and beautiful full spectrum sound.Speaker gives of a pleasant power on and power off sound. When it connects there is another catchy sound making you aware that it has found it’s BT source. Pairing is simple and very quick handshake once pairedYou’re going to love it!
