This party box is a lot of fun, especially when paired up with Apple Music's Karaoke Mode. Quickly pairing with the included microphone, no connectivity issues, and great sound; well worth the money if you're looking for something to entertain guests or bring along with you camping. I do wish there was a stronger IPX rating since it's portable, and a more robust build would be appreciated. Two 44mm tweeters and 5.25" sub is solid, but for the price it would be nice to have even one 4" or 5" mid range speaker. For what it's worth, this is a killer speaker, and I'm picking little complaints out. The JBL Party Box On-The-Go Essential is a very impressive unit. The sound quality is amazing and karaoke makes it the life of the party. Karaoke brings so much joy and fun to any day! It has an option for bass boost too which is very impressive and really pumps it out.The party lights can go to the beat of the music or a someone when they are speaking.The battery life is rated for 6 hoursIt is very easy to carry and has a comfortable gym bag like strap along with the handles on the side too. It has two places for the microphone to be secured and can add additional mics too but only comes with the one. The microphone is secure when walking around with it. My 7 & 9 year old kids were carry it around no problem too and serenading our neighbors.The design is great and I love the carrying strap and microphone holder. Overall I would give it a 10/10. I am very happy with the Party Box On-The-Go Essential. It is such a fun design and will make any gathering more interactive and fun!

I was looking for a speaker that was fun, easy to carry and has great sound. The JBL Party Box on the Go checks those boxes. Is doesn't get more fun that connecting your Bluetooth device to the speaker and use the included microphone to sing along your favorite songs or connect a guitar to the speaker and fill the backyard with sound. The speaker also comes with an included elastic band attached to the speaker so I can put the mic when it is not being used. I was able to take this speaker to many places thanks to its carrying strap, it even comes with a metal bottle opener!!! How cool is that!? Speaking of cool features the speaker lights up with the music, you can turn off this feature to save battery or if you don't want the lights. Love this thing. Its a solid portable speaker and does a great job of making a lot of good sound. It is a bit lighter on the bass but overall I think that it does a really good job. It really comes into its home in outdoor areas as it does a great job of filling a lot of space with sound with out being overpowering. My only gripe would be that it can only link with another speaker of its type and cant use TWS like all the other partyboxes. As for the microphone, it sounds great and doesn't have feedback or any other issues; however, setting it up was a bit confusing (turn the mic on and set it on top of the speaker then turn the speaker on). Overall, sounds great though and a very quality product. Also liked the sound modification knobs on top of it.
Speaker sounds like a cheap knock off. I bought this speaker with very high hopes. My family and friends have jbl speakers. Every single unit that I have listened to blew my mind with quality. This JBL PARTYBOX ON-THE-GO sounds terrible. It stuggles in all areas. It sounds good on a very low level but once you get it to half volume or plus the quality is not there. The other thing is the mic is very low. If you have the music turned up you cant hear anyone on the mic. I would recommend any other jbl speaker but not this unit. If your looking for a portable unit like this one i would recommend the JBL PARTYBOX ENCORE ESSENTIAL with two mic instead. Double if not triple the sound quality of this speaker. Mics work 100 times better.

The quick start guide didn’t offer any clear instructions on how to make it connect but after trying different things I was able to make it connect by turning the mic volume knob all the way off and then back on.
