My Son and I have been looking for a good gaming head set for some time. We tried other brands but immediately returned them as they were uncomfortable and the sound quality was poor. The Quantum 100 has far surpassed both of our expectations. It has a rich base, very clear sound, and is extremely comfortable. We use it for the PC, several gaming consoles, a piano, and VR headset. I can honestly say it almost sounds better than not having any headset on at all. It brings you closer to the sound but almost makes the experience more immersive. The microphone works very well and other gamers confirmed our voice is coming through perfectly clear. I am a fan of wireless sets but I love the simplicity of this. The removable microphone makes this extremely versatile and is a great option for listening to music on your phone or any other device. Wireless is great but it is unfortunate when your batter is dying. This is an awesome option to have instead or in addition to. I did receive this product as part of a promotional review. However, I was in the market for as I previously mentioned. The price is very reasonable compared to other wired headsets but none of the ones I tried (and returned) compare to the sound and voice quality of this one. It is very comfortable and the over-the-ear design allows you to wear it for hours on end without experiencing any discomfort on the ears. I would highly recommend this product for anyone in the market for a quality headset at a reasonable price. I am a huge fan of JBL and switched all my audio needs to them after years of being disappointed with other big brand vendors in the sound industry. JBL certainly continues to impress me and the Quantum 100 is another product that reaffirms my positive experience.

I bought this a month ago, Dec 26th to be exact. It arrived December 27, I've been using it for a month as my main headset and about a week ago, I noticed a crack on the right hinge. Today (2/1/23) the crack got worse and now my right ear cup doesn't seal and it feels loose on my head. In fairness to the product, the headset always felt a little tight on my head and the detachable mic sounds great. Still disappointed that the headset didn't last me longer.

The JBL Quantum 100 headset is great for its price. The drivers provide adequate audio quality with a good sound stage. The microphone is excellent, surpassing those on the higher end JBL models and with the perk of being detachable. There are two downsides with this headset. The first is that it's fragile and can break fairly easily, so handle and store it with care. The second is the 3.5mm cable is somewhat short. However, extension cables can be bought and the headset should last if handled with care. I broke my first pair and intend to get another because they do an excellent job for the money.

I was thrilled with this headset AT FIRST, but over time, I have lost some of my initial enthusiasm. OVERALL BUILD quality is good for a very low cost, lightweight entry level headset, but it feels a bit fragile, so I am being very careful with it, notwithstanding I have suffered no structural issues ... yet. I am a headphone junkie, and it appears it may be difficult to find and install replacement ear pads. SPEAKER AUDIO quality is good and on par with similarly priced headphones, providing average size sound stage for close back cans. In contrast, most open back headphone receivers provide a much wider, deeper sound stage - so it is good enough, but not best in class. MICROPHONE audio is very good, but the removable mic boom does not feel particularly durable and employs a proprietary connector handle which means it is essentially impossible to replace with anything other than a $27 (plus shipping) replacement part available only from JBL. This means you will pay nearly as much to replace a lost or broken microphone as you do for the entire headset. The microphone boom arm is very flexible and tends to deform and bend out of place with the slightest force as you use or store the headset. Long durability is, therefore, suspect. Most users will have to adjust the mic boom placement every session, which becomes a serious annoyance over time. (I thoroughly researched alternative replacement parts, but the proprietary grip on the mic boom connector precludes substituting any other part for the original JBL boom.) While this is a decent low cost, entry level headset, which sounds good, I recommend springing for a more robust design with more readily available replacement parts - or with a more substantial, more durable mic boom arm - perhaps the Quantum 200 would be a better choice, or look for something with a more generic connector. While good, it will never supplant my more expensive and more robust Sennheiser or Superlux headsets. So, good, but not great - yet decent value for the price. And that is just MY take ... your mileage may vary. JR
This JBL product has remarkably good sound for an inexpensive headphone set. The cord attached is sturdy (very important!) but rather short. I purchased a 3.5 mm male to female extension cord to use with this headphone. The volume control is located on the earpiece, not inline with the cable like some gaming headsets. The ear cups are comfortable, but the spring on the top band is a bit stiff which can cause some issues for extended use. As with any good fitting headphone of this type. external noises are severely attenuated. I primarily use this to listen to music, I like that the microphone is detachable and separate from the headset, so if you don't use it, you don't need to have it in your face. I think that extended wearing for several hours would be a bit of a struggle because of the tight fit, so I would not recommend it for extending gaming, or as a headset for those who are telephonic customer service representatives. But it is great for listening to music!
So, I actually have the white set (store grabbed wrong item for my online order), but functionally, should be the same. Preface, my use for these is causal listening to videos and music while programming, and mainly for doing voice overs for tutorial videos I started getting into. I'm not an audiophile, and don't need high end mic pickup. I was very impressed with how these fit. They completely cover my ear, with the pads fully resting on my head, with my ears completely inside untouched. So after hours of wear, ears were not bothered at all. Sound quality was really good considering the price point. Yeah, $150+ sets will sound better, but for $30... They completely cover my ear, with the pads fully resting on my head, with my ears completely inside untouched. So after hours of wear, ears were not bothered at all. Sound quality was really good considering the price point. Yeah, $150+ sets will sound better, but for $30... I love having a detachable microphone, and that when in use it does stay in the place you put it well, no noise from head movement. My big issue with older set was the mic was inline in the cord, so any movement where it brushed against anything, that was picked up. Another unexpected bonus, as the ear pieces can turn sideways and lay flat, when I just need the microphone I can turn them that way, dropping the set down and letting ear pieces rest on collarbone, and position the mic to pick up great for voice over recording. Still comfortable, I don't feel like it is choking me hanging around my neck. The build of them, again, for the price not bad. For people who sling them around a bunch, I could see where there would be potential for joints to wear out and possibly break. But if you are being decent with them, I don't see an issue. Volume level could be a better, I have a cheap $15 set I had been using for a while, and they are louder, but the sound range is not as good. I do plan on picking up a $20 headset amp for these for the few times I do want "jam" to some music a little loud. One final note on the microphone. In testing the recording level of these compared to my cheap $15 headphone set and a couple other mics, I had music playing while doing it, and noticed on playback, during the quiet parts of the recording I could hear what was playing during the recording. It wasn't really loud, and for general use (ie talking with people live), probably not going to make a difference or noticed by others, but for recording voice overs, I will be sure not to have anything playing. The cheap headphone set also has the same issue, which surprised me, as it's mic is 5" down from headset in the cord itself. My cheap earbud/boom mic device, no playback audio picked up during recording. So for the price, I'm very happy with these, and would recommend them for causal use like I am doing.
Look, I was suspicious with all these (Basically) paid reviews whom received the product for free. I got the white pair because I couldn't grab the black. They're super comfy over ear and have decent sound quality. They're nothing special, but they are above average (Or a step up from the cheap 20 buck headphones you can get) I'd say. It's certainly a decent product, but not worth full price. If you can pick them up for below 40 like I did, they're a steal! If you're still on edge about buying these, I haven't regretted it for a good pair of over ears that I can use without the mic. Can't comment on the quality of said mic because I got a Razer Seiren Mini on special and use that instead. Quality isn't the best, the plastic feels cheap, but I guess for a product ... MoreLook, I was suspicious with all these (Basically) paid reviews whom received the product for free. Good pair for kiddies getting into gaming or a cheap tie me over pair whilst you save for the better quality ones out there.
I have been looking for a new headset for a while and went with these as a result of being happy with other JBL products. The headphones are lightweight but are made with quality materials. I can't tell if the earpieces are replaceable. The removable microphone has excellent pickup quality, and the jack is recessed with the shape of a pill cross-section with the jack offset to one side, such that the mic does not swivel. The cord is not removable, but seems to be of high quality. The most outstanding feature, to me, is comfort. The size, shape, angle, and cushion of the circumaural cups makes them easy to wear with glasses on, and they do not give me a headache. The size, shape, angle, and cushion of the circumaural cups makes them easy to wear with glasses on, and they do not give me a headache. The headband cushion is wide and textured, and does not pull at my hair like many faux-leather cushions do. They do not come with an adapter to split the 3.5 mm jack into separate headset and mic jacks, so for those with a PC that require this setup to use a headset, that item will need to be purchased separately or, as in my case, already owned. The analog volume control and SPST push button mic control are a nice touch. And after a few years of using a wireless headset, it's very convenient to never worry about whether or not my headset is charged. Overall, I would recommend these and may be interested in one of the higher-tier Quantum headsets, if they only came in color schemes that were somewhat less brash.
This headset is advertised as being suitable for computers...NO. This headset has what is called a "four ring" 3.5mm plug. This plug carries the two audio channels and the microphone. If your computer has a single audio jack, like your phone, this headset will work. If your computer has separate audio & mic jacks, you'll need a $10 adapter to make this work. Both my laptop and my desktop had the dual jacks. And speaking of desktops, the 1.2m cord is too short for desktop use; unless your CPU is right next to your keyboard. Finally, with the volume control set to max, this headset was quieter than the $10 headset that it replaced. Overall, I find this most unsatisfactory.
I got these because there was a review that said that it worked well for Zoom meetings, and that was exactly what I need it for. I've used it now for that task, and I have to report that the design causes some issues. The volume control and mute buttons are on the left side behind the mike. When I put the unit on, I often accidentally change the volume down or mute myself. I very much prefer having those controls on the cord where I can check them. There's also something very fragile feeling about them. You just know they won't last for a decade like my Sony headphones. On the plus side, they do work, the audio is not bad when you do get them cranked all the way up, and they are comfortable enough to be able to ignore them during an hour long meeting.
