I love many Jo Malone fragrances, especially Peonies and Blush Suede, Velvet Rose and Oud, Pomegranate and Noir, Wood Sage & Sea Salt, etc. In my experience the last power is reasonable. I always shower/bathe, moisturize, and use a body oil especially on my pulse points (wrists, inner elbow, behind my ears and knees) then spray the fragrance waiting for it to fully absorb. You know, standard procedure for fragrances. But I was excited to test this out as soon as it arrived today because I read so many (incentivized) positive reviews, articles, etc. about what an extraordinary scent this is. I was hoping it’d be my new summer signature scent alone or layered with WS&SS. But, I was blown away by the strong, indescribable scent. Some descriptions are of bug spray; many are reminded of cleaning products; and one reviewer thought it smelled like toilet bowl tablets, and so did her pasto! Yikes! Wish I read the lower ratings beforehand. I did not. It did eventually dry down to an elegant, unique fruity floral but I can’t suffer an immediate migraine to get to this point again. And strangely, as lovely as it smells now, it’s quickly dissipating! Oh my! This has never happened to me before. I’m a Chanel, Dior, Tom Ford addict since my teens when I first discovered Miss Dior and Coco. Intense fragrances don’t bother me at all. But this scent seemed to overwhelm not just my right wrist but the entire family room! For those who compared this to Chanel’s Coco, I don’t get that at all; however, when a few reviewers said this would be a lovely home scent spread out in airy rooms throughout, I can appreciate that great idea. There’s just something causing a ongoing migraine headache for me, unfortunately. I can definitely see how the dried down version would be wonderfully appealing to many, as it is, but I’ll stick with any of my tried and beloved JM favourites. Try it for yourself and if it’s fit you, amazing! And if it’s not or fails t…

I received the English Pear and Freesia cologne in the mail yesterday. I immediately sprayed some on my wrists and the smell was quite strong at first. It smelled really nice and within moments it dissipated to a much softer scent. I liked it but just didn’t last very long. Maybe I was too sparse with my spray since it is super small. Regular free kind of sample size . I will try again with a more generous spray hoping it will last the whole day. In the end probably would not buy unless the price was reasonable. The scent makes me feel fresh and clean. I did not realize this was a unisex cologne. In my opinion this is too feminine to be a male cologne. The overall scent was flowery with some musky undertones. I would not buy this scent for my husband. He would think ... MoreI received the English Pear and Freesia cologne in the mail yesterday. I would not buy this scent for my husband. He would think it is too feminine. I also feel like this would be a good winter scent. With the musky undertones it reminds me of fall and winter scents. Again I wish the scent stayed on longer. I kept wanting to smell it but after 30 minutes to an hour I could barely smell the scent anymore. But it may stay longer on different people and their different chemistries. Day 2 of trying the tiny spray. I did love the scent but once again dissipated after a short time. Did stay on clothes a small amount. So my total opinion. Nice st first but gone after 2-4 hours.

I completely fell in love with this perfume, and I am officially head over heels for it! As a first time wearer of this brand and scent, I have to admit I was more than pleasantly surprised, I was elated with the results! I immediately knew this was a high-quality perfume. I sprayed myself in the morning, and all throughout the day and night I was receiving compliments while being asked what I was wearing. I was left feeling extremely flattered. I am a perfume lover, I wear something every day, but I am definitely not used to receiving that much attention simply from the way I smell! Not to mention, this perfume lasted all the way up until I took a shower. I know if I could still smell it on myself at the end of the day, that the scent didn't fade at all. It is a fruity front heavy fragrance with a layer of floral and a little bit of spice on the end. I enjoy that you can actually smell the pear because it is not the most common fruit to find in a fragrance. I feel it is a very original scent because nothing jumps out or comes to mind when trying to compare it to another. I love that it makes me feel like I am ready to take on any situation and be able to feel bright and beautiful while doing so. I believe you will love the way it makes you feel as well! If you are looking for a high end, fruity, original, long lasting and undeniably stunning perfume, I highly recommend you give Jo Malone London, English Pear & Freesia Cologne a try!

Joe Malone, London review English pear and freesia cologne I think this cologne would be great for layering. I think the scent would fade quickly if it’s not layered. It has some base notes that would pair well with other colognes. Even though this is a pretty scent I’m not sure that I would’ve picked this scent myself. It kind of reminds me of a bit too gardeny/ flowery if that makes sense. Great for a garden party or wedding. I’m not particularly fond of this combination myself I usually prefer more sophisticated, sensual scents but curious how this would pair with scents like those. I think this is reminiscent of what I envision an English countryside to smell like and the scent does develop more the longer it sits on your skin.
English Pear and Freesia is a strong statement fragrance. You get greeted with a strong juicy pear rosy rhubarb scent and then it transitions into a more soft freesia and patchouli musky scent. This is definitely a more matured sophisticated fragrance and would definitely recommend it for people who are going out for brunch or an event. This is something you want to wear when you want to make a statement. The projection is INTENSE , Sillage is incredible and Longevity is AMAZING.I would most definitely recommend this fragrance if these are notes you enjoy.I was gifted this in return for an honest review
I found English Pear & Freesia by Jo Malone like a walk in an earthy garden! It’s a beautiful fragrance and I found it to be unis£x, with slightly masculine lean. It opens up with ripe juicy pears and touches of Freesia. At dry down the Freesia takes the show and ripe juicy pears goes behind Freesia. At deep dry down, I found the earthy Patchouli takes over the show with all the others notes just leaving a hint. To my nose Patchouli is a very noticeable notes in this fragrance. Even though it’s the base note here, I could smell Patchouli in the background even from spraying time, it just gets prominent with dry downs. The Patchouli is very earthy here making this fragrance unis€x, with slightly masculine lean ….but it’s not a heavy weight smelling Patchouli.I feel ... MoreI found English Pear & Freesia by Jo Malone like a walk in an earthy garden! I feel this fragrance is a perfect Fall /Autumn fragrance. On my skin the longevity is moderate, for about 5-6 hours. The projection is “close scent bubble” for like first two hours on my skin and then it becomes a skin scent for the rest of the time.
This English Pear and Freesia perfume from Jo Malone London has grown on me. It's not what I expected it to smell like when I read the name of the perfume. It doesn't have a super sweet and fruity scent to it nor a strong floral scent like I imagined. It reminds me more of a freshly ripe pear that hasn't fully rippened to where it's super sweet scented yet. It's more of a subtle pear smell with a little bit of a floral scent. It's definitely got a unique smell to it, nothing like I have ever smelled before! I like it more and more as time goes on wearing it. The scent lasts for a moderate amount of hours, not as long as I would like it to last. Maybe it's just me that thinks it fades away quicker, but the scent could still be noticeable to others. First, I am very impressed with the longevity of this perfume. Jo Malone colognes have varying lasting power, and this one was very strong and stayed on me for an entire day. It does not project very far, instead it is fragrance that someone in your personal bubble can smell which I appreciate. I was anticipating a fresh floral and fruit scent. However, the pear and freesia barely have a presence on my skin. I get a burst of juicy pear on initial spray but it quickly fades away and I am left with strong rose and patchouli for the rest of the day. It veers almost masculine. The combination smells sharp and powdery to me and I did not like it. In general I do not like patchouli scents very much. I received a sample of Jo Malone’s bestselling English Pear and Freesia perfume from Skeepers and Jo Malone in exchange for my honest review. I was excited to try this fragrance because of the appealing notes. I love fruity scents, and this one starts beautifully with a top note of King William Pear. The heart of the fragrance is Freesia, another favorite of mine, and it's grounded by a base of Patchouli. The fragrance notes are well-balanced, and it has impressive staying power throughout the day. However, I was disappointed to discover the Patchouli base, as it's not a scent I particularly enjoy (I didn’t realize it had Patchouli when I first received it). My taste in perfume tends to lean towards younger, more playful fragrances—fruity, sweet, and gourmand. I fell in love with the first breath. The scent seemed veiled, prestigious, and thoroughbred to me. It seems simple, but so precise and neat that you can't find fault. It starts with pear, but it is background and the main tone is set by freesia, rhubarb and patchouli. The start seems juicy, but quickly gives way to heart notes, where you understand that the scent is very precise, classic. Intelligent, neat. I can easily imagine it with a jacket, suit, white blouse and black pencil skirt. And the more it is on the skin, the more flowers appear, the pear disappears somewhere altogether. I like its originality, it is easily remembered by the receptors, but the scent is not for every day, it is still a bit heavy
