Got this on a whim. Had a gift voucher and wanted some microwave gadgets to make up the value. We eat a lot of rice so thought we'd give it a go. What a find ! It makes cooking rice a doddle. No more over boiling mess on the hob or stuck rice on a pan. You have to follow the instructions to the letter and it will make perfect rice each time. Top shelf of the dishwasher to clean. Wouldn't be without it.

Bought one for my mother in law, we have had ours for a couple of years. Always cooks rice to perfect and never make too much rice anymore or over boil a saucepan of rice. Has useful instruction leaflet advising how long to cook rice for. We do tend to follow the instructions for one more person than it says and the measuring cup is great for moulding the ‘timbale’ of rice!Highly recommend this product

I bought this with high hopes of making it simple and easy to cook rice more often but unfortunately it has not quite lived up to expectations. I like that it takes up less space than a dedicated rice cooker and the strainer is useful for rinsing your rice before cooking. However, I had been hoping it would be easier than making rice on the stovetop which always seems to overflow and make a mess no matter how much I rinse the rice beforehand. But this simply does the same in the microwave, leaving a starchy mess. I prefer to make medium grain rice, so maybe this is not a problem with other types like jasmine. So overall it does the job, but honestly I wish I had just bought a proper rice cooker (and probably will).

Hands down the best value purchase I have made in a long time. I have used this so many times. The design, the simplicity, the function. Not just awesome for perfect rice, but for any kind of steaming. I am planning to buy a second. Well done Joseph and Joseph. The thoughtfulness that goes into your product design is second to none.

The cooking instructions are inaccurate, I have a standard 800 watt microwave, I cooked the rice precisely according the the instructions a few times and all times it came out dry and uncooked. I worked out that far more water needed adding than instructed and I've been experimenting with increasing the quantities. I've finally been able to get it right but it's made cooking rice more of a hassle than ever and the rice I have ended up with is no better than when I used to cook it in a pan. You will never use a saucepan for rice again as you just measure the rice in the measuring cup provided and add the amount of water then microwave. There is a chart included for 800 watt microwaves (you can adjust the time if your one isn't 800) that gives recommendations for quantities of rice/water and timer setting. You will need a brush to clean the colander component as a few rice grains do get stuck in the holes. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Very precise and clear instructions considering rice varieties available.Well thought practical design allowing all components to be stored away together.The internal basket/sieve is well designed for washing the rice before cooking.Material used in construction is very easy to clean after use.Allows very fast cooking times of rice from its raw state as opposed to conventional cooking methods.
I've used this, and it's helpful if you don't have a stove or the ability to cook correctly, but it doesn't beat the traditional way of cooking rice. I would use this occasionally if I felt lazy, but it won't become a staple in my daily cooking. I tried to cook oats in this. They were claggy; also, cooking oats on a stove is quicker and produces a better and more appealing outcome.
I absolutely love this rice cooker. Really easy to use. As it cooks in microwave it is cheapest way to cook rice with no mess or overspill onto cooker top. Have tried various ways to cook rice in the past and all involve a bit of faff! Not any more. Every time perfectly cooked fluffy rice no matter the variety. The portion size guide is perfect and can make up to 6 portions. Never going back to old way of cooking rice
Amazing quality (as a spectated from JJ). I was skeptical. Being from a Latin household, we cook rice nearly everyday and it’s routine to cook in a metal pan, etc. Looking for something more practical for a family of three and this was absolutely perfect. I didn’t have high expectations but who — it exceeded them! Follow the directions! Also, I will advise you to add a little bit of canola oil or avocado oil (whichever you prefer) and a pinch of salt. It helps with reducing the stickiness and getting fluffy grains! Enjoy! We did!!
