Joseph Joseph - Helix Potato Ricer

$31.95

(893 reviews)

This product is stocked in our Victorian warehouse. Helix presents a new range of food and citrus presses with a unique twisting mechanism that multiplies force. Most potato ricers require strong hands to operate and their vertical squeezing action can often be awkward to use. With the Helix potato ricer, however, the squeezing force is applied horizontally, which is much more comfortable and utilises the power of the shoulders as well. In addition, its unique, twisting mechanism multiplies the force used, which means you get more squeezing power from less effort. The tough, 2 piece design is made from stainless steel and nylon and can be separated for easy cleaning. The Helix range also includes a garlic press and citrus juicer.

Never saw the point of a river for mashed potatoes but as my first grandchild approached weaning I thought it would be useful. Experimented with potatoes and the difference is appreciably better. It is really easy to use, the helix design doesn't need brute strength. Cleans really easily too.Great buy!

A must have kitchen gadget.

Excellent product. I had a regular potato ricer previously ( my daughter had “ borrowed “) and I was pleased with that one. The Joseph and Joseph is effortless with outstanding results it is also very easily cleaned. This product may cost a little more but it is worth every penny. I highly recommend.

Bestest Thing!

Brilliant and easy to use potato ricer
21 December 2020

This is a great potato ricer! Big plus points are the ease of use - just line up the dots and twist 180 degrees till the handles meet. A breeze to use. Another good feature is that the ricer holes are only in the bottom - having had our old one liberally spray potato out of the sides this was a welcome feature! It doesn't seem to collect potato in the bottom of the cup either - big plus! Ours has only had one outing so far so it remains to be seen how it holds up after months of use and dishwashing, however it looks a sturdy piece of kit so I have high hopes. My daughter has no excuse now not to help prepare dinner - she claimed our old masher was 'too stiff' for her to use!!). Delight to use
24 September 2022

So easy to use with 2 hands!!!I suffer with weak wrists and have never been able to use the standard press masher. I even purchased an electric masher which was good but still lumpy. This Joseph Potato ricer is a dream to use with perfectly smooth mash. Use the 2 handles and twist them towards each other. Just add butter and warm milk for the perfect creamy mash ever! Yummy

Joseph has made me very happy
2 April 2023

No more complaints of lumpy mashed potatoes. No need for big biceps with this helix action - great for Boomers who can still afford potatoes or for those with a touch of Artie Arthritis in their hands. So easy to use, with the perfect outcome every time. I was gifted a birthday voucher from MYER one [do yourself a favour; become a member] and was emailed advice of an upcoming sale. Birthday voucher + sale price = one happy mashed potato eating customer. PS: can use on many other veggies and fruit.

My new favourite gadget! Why didn't I buy one sooner? Makes light and delicious work of making mashed potatoes. Brilliant for boiled eggs too. Can't rate it highly enough. I've already recommended this to friends and family.

SOOO GOOD! One twist & you're done!
6 March 2023

I have tried the metal potato ricer, it is messy & floppy. Plus the edges are quite sharp. Very fiddly to manouvre & not that easy to wash.Helix potato ricer from Joseph Joseph releases me from those frustrations!!! So easy to use, you don't need much muscle power to mash your potatoes. The potatoes did not spill over the side like the metal one did. & o my goodness waaaaay easier to wash & clean. My potato mash is not starchy or lumpy... smooth as!A downside would be that you cannot adjust the size of the grater. But i didn't find the need for that, for me the size is enough to ensure a smooth mashed potato.Definitely worth to have for the easiness & practicality of it.

Size isn't everything!
26 June 2022

I am a potato ricer convert and when my last one broke (eddingtons) I was in the market for a new one. What I hate about potato ricers is that you fill them and 80% of the potato is riced and the other 20% spurts over the edges and needs to be fed back in.When I saw this one on JL I tried to scour the reviews to find out what people thought of the size but no one mentioned it. Be under no illusion it is small. This did concern me.However, I made a mountain of mash yesterday and whilst it probably took more times to rice, there was absolutely NO spillage. I did not spend an inordinate amount of time gathering residue and re-feeding it through.Things I don't like - my last one had a hook/rest to balance over a pot/basin. My last one also had balance, this thing ... MoreI am a potato ricer convert and when my last one broke (eddingtons) I was in the market for a new one. What I hate about potato ricers is that you fill them and 80% of the potato is riced and the other 20% spurts over the edges and needs to be fed back in.When I saw this one on JL I tried to scour the reviews to find out what people thought of the size but no one mentioned it. My last one also had balance, this thing doesn't. You cannot rest it without it falling over. That said.. This little ricer is almost perfect and I actually found the movement quite gratifying.Without doubt the best ricer action. Could it be improved? Yes. Would I buy it again? Yes. Without doubt.

Works surprisingly well
21 January 2023

I was a bit suspicious, but the potato ricer was really easy to use, and mashed our potatoes very smoothly. Depending on the size of the potatoes you have to mash one or two at a time. For a large family meal it might not be the best tool as it takes time to do almost individually. But for smaller batches of mash it's really good. Can't wait to try it with some other veggies too.
