Joseph Joseph - Rocker Garlic Crusher - Green

This is my second Rocker Garlic Crusher from Peter's of Kensington. After five years of regular use the old one finally broke due to fatigue, so it certainly delivered on quality. I imagine that if you bought the stainless steel version it would last even longer. What I particularly like about this product is that it crushes the garlic into a very fine dice, simultaneously releasing all the flavoursome oil as well so you will notice a very distinctive improvement and concentration of flavour. None of the crushed garlic is wasted either as it is extruded through the fine hexagonal mesh and gathers in the top ready to be scraped directly into your food. Surprisingly, there are no sharp edges or abrasive surfaces to contend with and cleaning is easy, though I do recommend you rinse it off straight away which stops any residue drying out. This is a very sturdy well designed product but what else have we come to expect from Joseph Joseph !

Best garlic press ever!

High quality garlic press, easy to clean and use. Sturdy metal construction, crshes garlic quickly. Some garlic can get stuck in holes, but easily removed with tap. Best crusher I've used, great gift option. Lasts lifetime. Love it!

Garlic Rocker

This is perfect for me. I love to cook but with declining strength in my hands I could no longer squeeze my existing quality garlic crusher. I highly recommend the rocker option. It is so simple, but also strong. And I love green! Thank you Joseph Joseph.

Great alternative garlic press

I was fed up with the hinged garlic presses breaking, not pressing the whole clove, and getting lots of bits stuck in them. This is a simple alternative that actually uses up more of the garlic clove. You do need to press down quite hard but it seems robust enough after a month's use, and it's probably easier to clean than the normal type. The only (slight) disadvantage is that you do get garlic juice all over your chopping board, but overall I prefer it.

My brother in law showed me his favorite kitchen tool and this Joseph Joseph Rocker Garlic Crusher was it. I happened to see one at The Container Store and just had to get it. I love it too! I t works really well and comes out in bigger pieces than pre bought crushed garlic, plus it tastes so fresh and is! I previously had a garlic press whereby you place the garlic in the press and flip it to press the garlic and is not as good, and is more wasteful. I also like the rocking motion and pressing down hard creates bigger pieces of garlic. I give this a thumbs up!

Joseph Joseph garlic rocker - can’t be beat

I have recently bought a second of these items, not because there was a problem with my first (far from it) but because I was so terrified that if anything happened to mine in future I may be without one. It really is the most remarkable product. It is a one-piece (no fiddly bits to clean) solid, well-engineered, efficient garlic mincer. Use it with a mezzaluna board and you can’t go wrong. Easy to clean and use. In passing: don’t be tempted to buy the downmarket version with the plastic surround to the metal mincing grid. I had one of these and it broke on its second use. The full-metal version appears to be unbreakable, even putting your back into garlic mincing with body weight behind it. Advice: buy two and keep one spare. Minced Perfection

Very impressed with this garlic rocker! As someone who has refused to buy a garlic press due to the short life expectancy with their parts, I never thought a rocker could produce the same results. However I was wrong! The best part is, there aren't any working parts that can break after use. The only downfall is the cleaning process, but if you use a forceful enough faucet you won't have too much trouble.

Plastic breaks immediately with light use

This garlic rocker has sharper feeling "teeth" than my stainless full stainless steel one I have. That's why I bought this one at a local kitchen supply store. It lasted about 3 light uses before the plastic broke. Don't buy this plastic version. It's garbage. Not sure how this made it by a single tester before they started selling it.

Works really Well

Easier to use and importantly to clean than a normal garlic press, once you get used to the rocking action. Especially good if you have a lot of garlic to crush.Works well and you can vary the degree of crush easily. I found it worked really well with a little salt, like you do when using a knife blade.Easy to clean, dishwasher.Take note of the instructions not to use on hard garlic, it struggled.

does the job well

Bought this item as stocking stuffers last Christmas. Everyone likes it. Because it is all metal, it is quite sturdy. It works well on garlic, peel then press down with a bit of a rocking motion. I like to first remove the green "germe" inside the garlic clove first. Haven't tried it on frech ginger yet. It's a bit tricky to wash, but not that bad.
