I purchased two hampers - one for the bathroom and this one for the laundry. The other one is the darker colour, and is my favourite, but this colour suits the laundry. This basket is stronger than you would think and quite tall so it fits quite a lot of laundry. I love the loop handles which make the interior tote bags quick and easy to grab, and the loops on the bottom mean you can tip everything out and nothing is caught up in the bottom of the bag. The bags are easily attached and detached from the hoop frame at the top, so laundering them is easy. The hoops and handles are different colours for each coloured hamper which is convenient for making sure everything goes back into the correct hamper.

This bin arrived flat-packed with its efficient box inside of a giant empty box that could have easily held the bin assembled. So, there are two boxes to dispose of in order to save exactly nothing.The assembly, actually unnecessary because of the packaging, is a sadistic futz-fest that I would liken to a Wes Craven movie about an IKEA nightmare. The worst part is stretching the fabric cover and trying to insert its seam into a tiny channel. By the time I had this bin assembled I was more than ready to throw it all in the trash.Finally, I did not not anywhere on the website where one is advised that assembly is required.I’ve purchased many J&J products and will never be able yo do so again with absolute confidence.

Once it was put together it’s lovely but that process was the worse “flat pack” experience I have ever had. I had no idea how hard, frustrating and physically challenging. Took me 2 separate days to finish it after watching videos, the JJ video bears no resemblance to the stretching the very un-stretchable fabric that makes the tub. I wasn’t the only one as my son in law who is an avid diyer found making his as stressful! Once it is done it marvellous and beautiful. I can now see why it was on sale perhaps tweaking the design or sending it fully assembled as it is very light might be the way forward. Hope it lasts a long time as I couldn’t contemplate making another!

It was a little fiddly and I would recommend having short nails and a flat head screwdriver on hand as I found that super helpful with the tucking in bits (be super careful not to be too rough with the flat head screwdriver and fabric). I had no issues but can see how someone could if they rush and push too hard. Would also recommend watching the video tutorial on the website as the paper instructions are a little vague. Looks absolutely fabulous and so handy to have the bags with handles living in a 2 story house. It is a bit of a steep price but my last laundry hamper lasted 10 years and that was expensive at that time but much flimsier so overall I think it’s worth the money if you’re after something sturdy and aesthetically pleasing. Plus, the customer service with Joseph Joseph was fantastic. They were out of stock for ages and after contacting them in Facebook, they responded quickly and provided great info. It’s been a couple of months and I’m really happy with it!
When assembled, this is a great product. Stylish, functional and practical. The process of assembly on the other hand gave me great sympathy for the sweatshop employees who pre-assemble nearly every other laundry basket you might purchase. When I remarked the same to my partner he as always provided great clarity. In truth I have nothing in common with a sweatshop labourer. At least they are paid some pittance in return for the nightmare of putting these things together.As a one-time repairer of microelectronics I had the appropriate toolset to ultimately get the body of the basket taut, straight, and centred. If you lack similar background and tools I cannot imagine how you would avoid ending up with a somewhat saggy and offset basket. Either way, good luck.
I purchased 2 laundry baskets - this colour and the silvery grey colour. They both look good but this one is my favourite colour. When putting them together it was hard to see that they would be very strong, but they are surprisingly sturdy. If the fabric around the sides was tighter I would have given them a 5 star rating. I love the separate sections as my husband is a farmer so he puts his work clothes in one section, and casual/good clothes in the other. No sorting in the laundry!! I have purchased several Joseph Joseph products and find them all to be very good quality and smart looking. They design products to fill a need, and these baskets are another example of that.
I brought this laundry basket because of the size and dimensions. It looked perfect for my needs. Ordering and delivery were fine, and wishing the timeframe promised.However, while the instructions for assembling this laundry hamper are very clear the product simply doesn't do what it's supposed to. The sides of the fabrics are supposed to slot into the the bottom of hamper and be held in place by plastic plugs. But it just doesn't work, no matter what I tried. As a result the fabric is crinkled and saggy not taut.Not a great experience for a such a highly rated brand.
It's a modern, light-weight laundry basket with functional 'two sides' for separating your clothes. The outer walls is basically fabric that is stretched around a frame to create a covering of the two separated bags. Once assembled (yes, it did take some doing to get the fabric into the edges of the top and bottom frames) it stays pretty stable. I like the separator bags because they are easy to get in and out of the basket and overall feels well made. I will say that it does take up some space, so not particularly great for small spaces (maybe consider the smaller version of this laundry basket). The directions are a little vague in regards to doing the stretching and inserting the edges into the frames, so you'll need to construct it with this in mind.
While I’ve loved having this in our laundry because it looks great and does the job, I’m extremely disappointed in the fact J&J offer replacement lids for their waste bins, but no replacement lids for this laundry basket.The lid on this has completely snapped after an unfortunate incident and while I wasn’t after a free replacement as it wasn’t faulty, I would have hoped to be able to buy a replacement lid. Especially for the price, I don’t want to throw away the entire basket because it doesn’t have a lid. You would think for a company that specialises in stylish, premium priced products you would expect premium service. This needs to be pulled completely from their catalogue and get a complete makeover. This is not josephjoseph standard imo and after a year of using it, I can confidently say I was ripped off and for how amazing their products usually are, this was seriously frustrating.
