As written by most other reviews, it feels pricey for a bin but, having used the bin for a few weeks now it really is worth it. I’ll list all the plus points:- lightweight and compact. So easy to take the compartments in/out, you don’t trap your fingers/hands or catch your nails- It has made us SO much more considerate about how we dispose of waste.- we don’t need to change the waste bin as often because the odour control pad really does trap smells (even more so if teamed with a bin powder!)- The small unit for fresh food is perfect to sit on the countertop when preparing food and chucking out into the composter. I am obsessed with cleaning and bins are just germ ridden but this bin is so easy to clean each section and there are no edges/grooves for bits of food/fluid to get trapped into. Nearly every other bin I looked at had places for grime to sit like the hinge, the lip on the lid etc and this one doesn’t. It sounds silly but it’s just a well thought out design- you can use standard liners and they still catch onto the bin just fine. The Joseph liners are decent but not necessary given the price difference

Amazing bin! The Totem Max allows you to have waste and recycling in a compact space, but not feel like the bins are too small. It’s great!Opening and closing the bin is easy and hassle free!I would say that you do end up with finger prints and dirt marks on the outside, but you can easily while them off.The price is definitely high! But I’m extremely happy with the product, and hopefully it will last a very long time!

Bin is excellent for organising waste. Makes recycling and food waste so simple. I was however very disappointed with how flimsy the outer bin is. After only a matter of weeks there is already a dent on the front and I don’t actually know what caused it. Expect to see more appear unfortunately. Very disappointing for the high price.

I am just a little disappointed in the product when comparing it to the previous version!I have had the previous version of the Totem bin for years and used it with great satisfaction. However, I find this newer version a whole lot less sturdy and solid! This applies to the whole size and certainly to the lid. The lid sounds like thin tin when closed, and I have the idea that you push a dent in it in no time. It is also very unfortunate that the bottom bin does not connect well to the top bin, there is a gap between them and that is not pretty. You can see the trash bag and from a certain angle also the trash when the bottom bin is full. This is very unfortunate because I was very satisfied with the previous version.
Fantastic idea. Love that separation of waste but as I have a garbage disposal I don’t use the little caddy.What I will say, is this is my 3rd one. The first two both broke due to the flimsy lid. The fist was the original style and the lid wouldn’t clip shut, the second the plastic in the closing hinge all broke up aster a year… I think JJ could do with improvement there.I did report the last broken lid and I have to say, their customer service was slow so I had to chance it up, However once they were onto it, they were brilliant and sent me a voucher to get a. Brand new complete bin.
We absolutely LOVE Joseph Joseph products and have quite a few items within our home... the kitchen, en-suite, bathroom etc and was so excited to get my new Totem Max 60L bin. Sadly, the excitement wore off very quickly. Both my husband and I were really disappointed by the fit of the bottom bin into the frame. It seems as though it doesn't sit right at all! The video of the bin design looks absolutely brilliant but. for us, this bin is not worth the money paid. This is the first Joseph Joseph item we've bought that we are really disappointed with.
I really did buy this on a splurge and thought to myself I must be crazy to spend this much on a bin but in saying so now that I have it I find it so handy and great to look at. It essentially fulfilled its purpose of getting rid of having two seperate bins in the house (recycling/garbage) and it really is quite convenient having everything in one place. I brought the carbon black colour and it looks amazing as it’s a matte black metal finish on the outside with a plastic lid and plastic bins inside. Ok. Let’s start by saying that you’ve probably asked the wrong person. My Wife ordered this, using my account info, so I get the review request.It’s a bin. It’s pretty good as bins go, but it has no wifi, no bluetooth speaker and I still have to transport it to the outside bins. Admittedly this is done using the easily portable buckets, but for the money I’d expect to be able to ask Alexa to do it for me.So yeah, it looks great in black and is compact and functional. Is it worth £170? Not sure about that. I just paid.My wife loves it though. And let’s be honest, that’s what matters.
I enjoy the functionality of this Totem Max 60L Waste & Recycling Bin. The food compartment is perfect in the waste bin for scraping our plates, but it is very convenient on my kitchen countertop for mise en place while prepping my meals. The capacity of the Recycling Bin is greater than the separate bin I used previously. The Waste Bin is the perfect size for us. I found my old waste can was entirely too large for us. The Integrated Odour control helps absorb any odor that may be offensive. I don't have much of that because the Food Bin has a cover on it. I love that everything is in one unit that saves space in my room.
The Totem Max 60L waste and recycling bin is excellent. It’s so easy and I love the different compartments. Who knew a bin could be organised! The size is perfect and it has helped us to recycle more. I love the fact that it’s a two in one waste and recycle which keeps it looking sleek, compact and space saving!Who knew a bin could look so good!
