Great figure overall but can’t give it a full five stars for reasons related to Target. Firstly, when your guys are packing stuff make sure they treat these items as if they’re shipping their own items and not stuffing them into a box crushing the corners of the packaging or poking holes. Doesn’t matter if the item gets removed from the packaging it’s about that same item not getting damaged. For collectors the packaging is a big deal, but even for an average consumer, that packaging is the only other protection between how the packer handles it and when the delivery people are throwing it from one vehicle to the next before reaching its destination. For example, I know they need improvement in this area because I saw an employee at your store dragging someone’s ... MoreGreat figure overall but can’t give it a full five stars for reasons related to Target. What’s the point in preordering then if you’re just going to have this toy in stock only to price cut it right away??

Absolutely one of the coolest figures to be released in years. Easily worthy of being on a top 10 list for the year of 2024…. Worth the retail price of $50, especially when you compare what you’re getting to other lines and imports… This dinosaur has an amazing original one off sculpt, paint, articulation, a glass eye and it’s big & chunky! No comparison for the value of what you’re getting for the price point, especially considering I got it on sale for $35. Considering a standard marvel legend repaint figure retail for $25-$35 or a 6 inch mezco figure retails for $80-$113…. This toy at $35-$50 is leagues better in almost every way and I truly feel extremely happy with this purchase. Any dislikes or nitpicks I might have are really irrelevant when you consider the ... MoreAbsolutely one of the coolest figures to be released in years. Without question, this is the best Mattel Giganotosaurus yet. I have both this one and the first Giga, and putting them side by side shows a lot of difference. The paint is spot-on to the movie, IT HAS A MOVEABLE TONGUE, glass eyes, and MORE. This is a must-have for all Jurassic World and JW: Dominion fans. I barely had room for it on my collection shelf. It looks perfect displayed. For those who have not watched the movie, the Giga is the main antagonist (I guess?????) dinosaur who at the end of the movie battles the Tyrannosaurus Rex. Personally I LOVED the movie, I guess because it had the Giga in it, and... feathered dino?!!!!! Can't wait for Jurassic world 4! Anyways, I 100% recommend this figure. I'd rather display it then play with it though, since it is from ... MoreWithout question, this is the best Mattel Giganotosaurus yet. Figures huge. Great for display. The tails really really heavy which would be great if it wasn't for the fact that most of the plastic on this is very thin in comparison to the tail. It's fun to pose but still very limited due to its design and the way they went about the joints. Again, the tail being heavy wouldnt have been a problem but it does inhibit its balance with certain poses. Easily fixed with adjusting to compensate as one should but if youre really trying to get a very specific pose, it might be challenging. A lot of people have been experiencing terrible Quality control issues on the initial release of this so hopefully that gets fixed within future batches. Recommend if you're a completionist or really like big articulated dinosaurs.
The Hammond Collection Gigantosaurus is truly a collectible-quality toy. It feels heavy and well-made in your hand. It has several articulated joints and you can pose your dinosaur in different positions for fun pretend play. Every detail was thought of in this toy - it has glass eyes that look realistic. The tongue is also a softer rubbery material (rather than the harder plastic that the rest of the dinosaur is made of), and the tongue can be moved and posed as well, allowing you to pose your dinosaur mid-roar. Take note of the size of this dinosaur - it is 29 inches long. We have had a bit of difficulty in finding a spot big enough to display him in all his glory, but we will clear a larger spot on my son's shelves shortly. I was hoping that the tail could curve around a bit more to accommodate a slightly smaller shelf, but while the articulated joints do allow it to move somewhat, it cannot fully curve around.
My kids 7 and 12 love this figure. They loved it the second they saw the box and the size of it. I let them open themselves and put it together. They had no problem assembling the two pieces and then they were off to create dinosaur battles. The articulation is impressive having multiple posable joins through the tail, legs, arms, neck and jaw. The figure is easily posable and stands on its own in a variety of configurations. The color and skin detail is deep and especially around the face. The teeth and jaws really are terrifying. My kids immediately decided that because of the extensive articulation they were going to make a stop motion video. The fine articulation really lended itself well to stop motion video as they were able to make a very impressive T-Rex vs Gigantosaurs with Jeep video.Overall great figure and one that they will be enjoying for a long time.
My 9 year old son has been playing with Jurassic World toys since he was a toddler. He has dinos ranging from small to huge. But he didn't have one from the Jurassic World Dominion Hammond Collection. Since he really likes his Giganotosaurus he decided he wanted the collector's version. When opening the packing box and taking the product box out you can instantly tell this is a collectible. The box has a nice presentation unlike the toys where the packaging is flimsy and is not fully boxed. The dinosaur build is of great quality. Originally we were going to display this in this playroom but after seeing it he wants to keep it in the box and display it as is.The tail is detached so it is even bigger once assembled. The mug in the picture is for size comparison.
This Giganotosautus is beautiful! It’s large and articulated in the perfect spots. His eyes are bright and clear and really capture how the dinosaur is portrayed in the movie. The toy was a little hard to balance to stand on its own but after some maneuvering we were able to stand it without it using its tail. The craftsmanship is great and feels like it will hold up well. My son is excited to play with this dinosaur. It’s sized perfectly to go with the other dinosaurs in the Hammond collection and the details are stunning.
Not a lot of people like the Jurassic World Dominion design for the Giganotosaurus, but I personally loved it. And while I didn't "hate" Mattel's original mainline toy figure of this dinosaur, it was too small, the detail was hit or miss, and the action feature made it near-impossible to pose. That said, this version of the not-so-iconic dinosaur antagonist is absolutely amazing! Mattel has knocked it out of the Jurassic Park with their newest Hammond Collection figure. For one thing, not only is this Giga a major improvement in every way over the previous version, it fixes all the issues with the other Hammond Collection figures. The detail on this thing is next level; there's no soft detail on it. The paint apps are so good to the point where it doesn't look painted. And then there's all the usual fantastic HC articulation. This is peak Mattel right here. It's also worth mentioning that the Giga has the new smaller feet that have been rolling out across the line since Velociraptor 'Blue' and the Carnotaurus, in addition to having what is probably the most proportionally long tail of any Mattel figure. The only issue I have with the figure is that the arms are definitely a bit too large compared to both the film dinosaur and the real animal, but they look great, nonetheless. Plus, the glass eyes look fantastic! It goes without saying that this dinosaur is indeed gigantic, measuring a whopping 29 inches. That's five inches longer than the enormous HC T rex.Overall, there is no reason to not recommend the Hammond Collection Giganotosaurus. It has an immaculate sculpt and paint job, the articulation is great, and it brings an unparalleled level of detail, realism, and screen accuracy to the line. Pick this Giga up as soon as you can, because trust me, this is one you do not want to miss, even if you aren't a fan of the Dominion design for the Giga. The Giga isn't just the best figure in the Hammond Collection, it's Mattel's best dinosaur to date, period.
My sons have really enjoyed playing with this Giganotosaurus! This thing is HUGE - without actually getting the measuring tape out, Id say a foot tall and just over a foot long. The boys have used this to stage battles with their other toys - and because this guy is so huge, he always wins!It does come in the box in pieces, but it takes just a few seconds to attach and is ready to go -- nothing seems like its loose or will easily come off even though the tail needs to be put on. It also stands really easily and can move well -- the feet are so big, that my boys have been able to set him up so he's hanging off the end of a desk or table as a part of their toy battles. This has been a good addition to the toy chest for my older boys!
