Juwel Automatic Fish Feeder

First time use & I'm not impressed.The feeder comes with the insert for the lid which has a flap you leave open while the feeder is set in place. However, as the damp humid air rises from inside the tank (A Juwel Aquarium) the flap surface has condensation and stays wet. When the food spills out of the feeder, it all seems to land on & stick to the wet flap (it fails to then fall into the tank).Have only been away for 3 days and the food inside the feeder is also getting damp and starting to stick inside. Therefore a very poorly conceived feeder system.- Completely useless piece of kit imo!

Good

Simple to use feeder that has been reliable. I bought these because I have some Juwel tanks. One issue is that the food collects on the feeder lid somewhat. The system relies on this kid to act as a ramp to direct some of the food into the feeder hole. It works but there is always some manky food to clean when one returns from vacation. I prefer the eheim. More versatile.

Good product.

The Juwel auto feeder works well. If like me you use flake food, you will need to run an air line ( connection built into feeder body ) this will stop condensation build up. The feeder shut can also become blocked with damp food, although this would take several weeks. All that said this product is good while you take that two week holiday.

Good quality, but some design issues

The product works well, and very simple to use. However, due to humidity where it is positioned, some of the food gets stuck on the sliding tray or spreads around instead of dropping to the water. After two weeks, it accumulated to a large quantity of food left out of the water, and some warms started to appear... I am still looking for some way to work around this. I am not sure if this is an issue with this specific model, or with many of the feeders out there.

Peace of mind

The Easyfeeder fits simply and easily on my Juwel Vision 180 tank. The instructions of how to use the feeder are given on a DVD disc. I was not able to use the disc but YouTube saved the day and so now able to feed fish twice daily, with no fuss or bother.

Review of Juwel Automatic Feeder - 89000

A brand product that allows the feeding of aquarium fish during periods of absence such as holidays. As with all Juwel products it is a quality item that falls into the upper price range and compliments the Juwel range of aquarium tanks. Except for one of the Juwel range it does require a hole to be cut into the lid using a cardboard template supplied with the packaging. A drill and basic hand tools are required to remove the blank coupled with average DIY skills to achieve a good result.

Useful when necessary

Great product when going away, you dont need to worry about your fish. The problem I have had is simply that I have larger pellets in there and smaller pellets because I have different fish but have to let more out in order for large pellets to flow which results in over feeding. Wish there were more settings too but is an awesome product to attach to your Juwel tank. I like the airing feature aswell and very good that it comes with batteries!

Works well, designed for a certain brand of aquarium.

Works as described, releasing fish food into tank once every 24 hours or twice in a 24 hour period 6 hours apart. It is however designed to fit a Juwel fish tank lid, and come with a lid adaptor in which it sits, may not fit with other brands. It is also better suited to pellet food, as flake food tends to stick to the inside of the rotating drum. The amount of food released can be regulated.
