I had to quit drugstore shampoo a few years ago because anytime I used drugstore shampoos, I would lose a massive amount of hair each shower. I also wanted to break the cycle of stripping my hair then coating it in artificial moisture (the sulfate-silicone cycle). I thought JVN, being sulfate and silicone free, was safe - but alas, each time I used the shampoo, I lost an incredible amount of hair. It felt dry and stripped until I used conditioner, indicating to me that it is still the same strip-coat cycle of drugstore shampoos, just with replaced ingredients. I’m sad to have to give it away. The minute I used a different shampoo and conditioner, I barely lost strands in the shower. Now I have to deal with this super sparse hairline and grow it back all over again.

I love this product. It truly is the best I have ever used including high end and drug store. It leaves my hair so much more manageable and just overall prettier. I have always had frizzy, flat root, bushier end thin hair and this just makes my hair a new look completely. I don’t use heat on my hair hardly ever, I’m an air dry kind of person and this product make my all natural hair look done. It gives such a nice texture and smoothness. Bonus, it smells incredible and when used with the pre wash scalp oil it is an extra kick to the greatness. Absolutely blown away. Thank you JVN!

I never like volumizing products bc 1) I hate my hair feeling “squeaky” clean and brittle and 2) the conditioners are never hydrating enough for my hair. I have fine thin, dry & wavy 2b hair. I never had scalp problems before I used JVN haircare. I bought the Embody, Nurture, and hair oil. A month or so into using the products my scalp was in bad condition - flaking, itching - seborrheic dermatitis. I never had this before and always used natural products, so I can only attribute the condition to using chemically harsh ingredients. JVN haircare is not natural and it really damaged my skin. I cannot return anything now since it's after the 30-day window, so that's a bummer. I wish the line would care about using gentle, organic, non-synthetic ingredients. One extra star because my hair itself felt nice after using - but it's not worth the destruction to my scalp.

I have long and fine hair: enough of it to knot really badly but not enough to provide any volume at all. So when I say it's life changing it really is - I no longer have to wash my hair every day, I don't have to use a hairdryer every day either saving time, water and money. I use two pumps of the shampoo every other day and I still have product left in the bottle from starting use at the end of April.I couldn't recommend it more highly. I've bought some for my mum (from whom I inherited my hair thickness) who is also really impressed. It may seem a bit expensive as an initial outlay but I think I'm going to get 4 months of washes from one bottle so will definitely work out cheaper than a high street shampoo.
Purchased the Embody Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner.Pros: Fragrance is mild – doesn’t bother my nose. Makes hair feel soft. Reduces frizz. Doesn’t dry hair out like a lot of volumizing products.More of an observation versus a Con: Can’t say my hair feels any thicker or more voluminous using these compared to non-volumizing shampoo and conditioner…Bonus: Received samples of other JVN products to try with my purchase from the website. Ended up buying Blowout Styling Milk while at Sephora. Planning to buy Nourishing Shine Drops when I finish using another oil.Overall, I am really enjoying the Embody Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner along with the other JVN products I have tried! Definitely will repurchase!
I have been using this shampoo/ conditioner since September. From the beginning I had experienced major knots/ hair loss after just getting out of the shower. I continued to use it and to give it a fair chance because of the clean ingredient list/ a recommendation. From day one, I struggled with the conditioner formula being too thick which made it hard to pump/ the pump got stuck. Over time, the packaging has been allowing water to get into the product and now I am left with watery product (waste of money now). This product is higher priced than your normal drug store brands and shouldn’t been giving these results. I have stopped using this product and will not recommend it to anyone. I was excited to try it (my go to Ouai shampoo for fine hair was about to finish), however that did not end well. My first thought was “wtf is this?”. This shampoo has left my hair like a straw… extremely dry, impossible to brush, generally my hair was looking very matte and not voluminous at all!
