An excellent product, however, I would question one thing about the instructions. It certainly needs more than 4 pulls through to attain maximum sharpness (at least on the initial use). Knives will also benefit from a final honing on a stone following use of the sharpener. Also, get an edge restorer, folks. All knives need the edge restored from time to time.

As a chef this is a great product despite what some reviews are saying, but ONLY for Japanese knives such as shun and global it will not sharpen other knives very easily and would recommenced other sharpeners made to do a 20 degree angle

Bought Kai electric sharpener as I have Kai knives and wanted to sharpen them to their original 16 degree sharpness which this machine does easily and quickly. Very happy with product.

I am very happy with this product, I use it to keep all my shun knifes in razors sharp condition by just pull my knifes through the sharpener 2 to 3 times. the only complaint is that it doesn't sharpen my shun paring knife.
I would not recommend this knife sharpener, it takes atleast 5 minutes to sharpen one knife (mine were blunt), definatley not the 4 pulls stated on the instructions. Doesnt sharpen shorter knives and you cannot run it very long before you have to turn it off or it will overheat, so you cant really sharpen all your knives at once. A sharpeing stone or hand held sharpener is much better
Siezed as soon as I turned it on. I removed the blade cartridge, and found it had been assembled wrongly. I rectified the issue and it seems to operate ok, without being great. Being plastic inside I don't imagine it will last forever, but I didn' t pay a lot for it either. All in all, fair value for money, and will do all I want it to do.
So easy to use and knives are so sharp after just a couple of swipes. My son sharpened all my blunt knives that I thought were past their use by dates. Like a drwaer full of new ones. Love it and thinking of buying myself one.
Excellent and quick results when using my Shun chef and vegetable knives.
Product advertises that it is designed to sharpen Shun Knives. Don't make the mistake of trying this the grinder is way too rough and ruined one of my knives. Had to take them to get professionally sharpened to fix what this machine did.
