This vacuum is awesome! It is great for cleaning our garage, no problem sucking up spilled cat sand, sucking up sand, dust and dry grass cuttings from the alfresco, sucking up spiderwebs and more!! It is really powerful compared to previous machines we had! Excellent quality too!!!

I bought this for its intended purposes (collecting cold ashes from home fire) and now it's also my go to vacuum to Clea an up DIY jobs. What is the compromise; its 'sucking' power is not as good to a modern vacuum (We also have Dyson Cylinder) and yes, the filter does clog often HOWEVER, it is much more rugged, has 10 times the capacity and it can literally vacuum lumps of cold coal.... (before you have to clean the filter) - It's a great second vacuum for dirty jobs when sucking power is not the top priority
Great vacuum cleaner which is easy to use, however the electrical cord is too short so need an extension lead. It also only vacuums ash and small bits of burnt wood as the hose is narrower than expected as larger pieces of burnt wood tend to get stuck at the entrance of the bin. So a longer electrical cord and a wider hose would greatly improve the quality of this machine. It also works beautifully on hard floors but not on rugs (no separate head for rugs).
I have had the vac for a few weeks now and found it a delight to use - the suction power is incredible brought up the pile of my woollen rugs a treat. Hard floors were a dream too - the head glides across the floor and lifts everything in its path. Then took it to my daughters Uni house - her room is now the cleanest it has ever been as we handed it back to the landlord.Simple instructions, well boxed and so easy to assemble. Overall, great product from a premium brand - easy to use and empty. I am going to invest in the long suction nozzle for car cleaning though. Now looking forward to the first summer BBQ to test it on ash !!
After my previous non Karcher ash vacuum failed I decided to get a quality machine in it's place.The Karcher costs more , but you get more. The build quality is outstanding and functionally is brilliant. The A D 4 Premium works well as a stand alone vacuum cleaner as well as clearing away fire ash and the long hose greatly aids in this.
Bought this as I have been looking for a decent ash vac (had a cheap Chinese unit which ended with a blocked filter and sparks from the motor) for some time.So far it has performed excellently, but the proof will be in the life and ease of replacement of the filters.I purchased this while Karcher had a discounted price, so was much cheaper than a major online supplier.

The way all compents clipped in with a solid feel. Let's face it - a rarity these days.The unit's filters are very cleverly designed. It moves freely on the wheels. The back flow facility is a god send. Suction power is amazing. Not sure why other reviewers were so down on it. If you connect a carpet head, it will do a carpet easily. (The head provided is only really designed for smooth floors but if you drag it backwards, it works on carpet tiles pretty well).Wish I'd realised before purchase that it's only rated for ashes up to 40 degrees C. Oh well, I'll ...
