This boot was recommended in the store but didn't have my size. So, I ordered online with no issues. The boot itself is well made and so far, very durable. Overall the boot is quite confortable on short 6-9 miles hikes. The laces hold and I went up 1 size and orders the wide which I'm glad I did. It takes a little longer to break them in due to the leather upper, but so far so good. The insert they talk about is mediocre at best. At the 8plus mile mark that insert shows how is starts to fail in my situation. It is a selling point for the shoe but not great in my opinion. The sole is great in almost every condition. When climbing hills, big rocks are handled like a champ. When you go up or down and the is that loose or fine rock, Watch Out. I flipped back to my other shoe to see if it was me or the shoe, no issues with slipping with my old boot. The cleats are very hard so not sure if that is the issue for that situation. I haven't tried them in water as I'm in Az with little water yet. The boots are heavier but that is expected due to the leather upper and materials. The mid boot offers great ankle support as well. Time will tell with more wear to see if it just the newness of the shoe. I have only put about 28 miles on the boot in hiking. Plus wearing them for shorter break in times.

This is my second pair of Oboz Boots, having purchased and used the Yellowstone II several years ago and wearing them on numerous hikes and camping trips. I’m still breaking them in, but I am very happy with them so far. The color (Sahara) doesn’t look at all like the pictures online and they are actually much more olive green in reality. Personally I like the actual color even better than the online pics. Comfort was fairly good out of the box…there is a spot on the outside of the left boot that can get uncomfortable after a full day of wear, but I’m guessing this will work out with more break in since they are leather. Overall they feel very well made and look great. Weight feels good for the level of protection and durability offered. I like the way these boots fit comfortably from day one. I bought my first pair in 2017 and took them on day hikes on trails in the hills. They were supportive, thanks to the mid-height, and had no break-in period. Since then I have purchased several more pairs and wear them every day. I usually keep a brown pair and a black pair and alternate them. I usually walk on pavement, about a mile or two per day, and a pair worn every other day lasts me about eighteen months before the bottom starts to show that it has worn through the black part. I ordered my seventh pair from BackCountry just before Christmas and expect it to arrive today. I recommend them to friends. They are also good for my plantar fasciitis -- I replace the original insoles with SuperFeet.

I've had these boots for a couple of months now and I really like them. They provide really good traction in snow and are extremely waterproof. They are very comfortable and not as heavy as they look. And they are not too bulky. The boots are surprisingly warm, which is a good thing in the winter. The only downside of these boots is that the laces that come with the boots are pretty slick and when you tie them up the boots come undone way too frequently. Probably because the laces are slick and there's not enough friction to keep them tied. Or it could just be the way I tie them. But it didn't have this issue with Merrel boots. Overall I really like them and would probably buy these again. The one downside could probably be fixed by a different pair of laces.
This is my favorite hiking boot, with one caveat that drops them a star. If you have long, narrow feet like me, look no further than this boot - I've hiked miles in them straight out of the box with nary a blister. For dirt, gravel, mud, and dry rock, they are perfect and I keep backup pairs on hand, buying whenever they're on sale. I've walked probably thousands of miles in this model at this point. They're rugged, protect your feet from stones and roots, and last a good long while before needing replacement. I'm prone to twisted ankle and since wearing these, haven't had any ankle injuries.The only issue, and this seems to be with Oboz in general - they are slippery on hard, wet surfaces. They're comfortable out of the box and continue to form to the foot as they break in. Great traction and protection. They also look good, a little more aesthetically pleasing than other brands. Just a super solid and durable hiking boot that works in a variety of settings. They've been my go-to's for the last 6-7 years and will probably continue to be. I bought these boots for a long backpacking trip in the Grand Canyon. People were falling all over themselves talking these up, so I figured they must be a decent boot. After getting them broke in months before the trip I figured my feet would be comfortable and happy, not so much. I don't understand this cult like following people have for these boots. The boots felt really decent until we hiked into the bottom of the canyon and the trail became a dry creek bed. We were hiking on small rocks, and I could feel every slightly large rock through the sole. Needless to say, this fatigued my arches significantly. I then switched from the Oboz to a Merrel hiking shoe and the pain went away, then I switched back to the Oboz and the pain started again. I've had Asolo, La Sportiva, Lowa, and Merrel boots and never encountered this issue. I also ended up with blisters on both feet in the same location and will lose a couple toenails on the same toes on both feet as well. I could call this an isolated incident or bad lacing, but my wife has the women's version of this boot and had the exact same issues including blisters and toenail loss in the same toes and blisters in the same areas as my feet. Not a coincidence. I am in the process of selling these, but I just really wanted to burn these, and I wasn't even halfway through the trip. All total we hiked 60miles, and these never got any better. The first and last Oboz I will own, looking for some Asolo Boots as I write this.
I tried on over 10 different brands before deciding on the Bridger from Oboz. I am going on a multiple day hike with a 40 pound pack so I needed something that will give good foot support. I can’t tell you how they will be until after the trip but my initial report is they fit well and my feet do not shift when standing parallel to a slope. The arches feel aggressive without a pack on and I suspect this feature will not seem so pronounced especially with extra weight on my back. They seem to be well made for the $200. My first choice was the zamberlan vioz but opted against because I thought they might be too warm for my summer hiking. The bridgers could be a bit warm too since they are waterproof but my impression is that they won’t be as warm as the zamberlans. Warning! The material the soles are made of are not compatible with certain types of smooth or wet surfaces. I was surprised when using these boots I slipped and fell. After investigating why, it was determined that the boots did not grip the wet surface. Thinking this may have just been a one time anomaly or the soles needed to be broke in more, I was wearing the boots again in the rain and slipped again. When I wore a different pair of boots with different soles, they gripped well and there was no slipping on the same surface the Oboz slipped on. On one of the occasions while wearing the Oboz in the rain, I slipped and fell, tearing a tendon that required surgery to repair. The Oboz "Dry" boots are completely useless and a complete waste of money. BE WARNED!
