Excellent tough long-lasting boots

Bought these in 2018, and wore them out after nearly 6 years. Walked them on bushland tracks and wet grass, approx. 2km, nearly every day.At first, my feet hated them; it took about 5 months for them to wear in and shape themselves to my feet, but for the remaining 5 years my feet loved them - they were super comfy. One shoe developed a leak somewhere in the sole after one year - and I walk through a lot of wet grass. Not ideal.Had to get them repaired twice, costing about $60 each time: the rear inner heals split, and cracks developed on the left and right sides where the toes start; these were patched successfully.Would I buy these again? Absolutely. They've lasted longer and better than any other hiking shoe I've had so far.

I walk of 8-10 km cross country every day over undulating ground, that varies from grass and mud to stoney and rocky. From mid autumn to late spring I'm always in boots and the ground is always wet underfoot and when winter hits the ground is often frosty too.I've tried lots of different boots over many years and I've learned through experience that there is simply no substitute for full grain leather boots with a good waterproof lining. In the past I've always gone with Gore-tex lining and it has always served me well but is expensive. These Tiber boots are my first foray into using NGX lining. Considering I bought these at the summit club price, they are almost half the price of many other boots I've purchased in the past. They remain dry, warm and comfortable and the Vibram soles provide excellent grip and stability.I loved these boots so much that I purchased a second pair at the summit club price and I absolutely feel these are probably the best value for money all round durable boots for my daily walking that I've ever had. Based on the first 500 km, I'm confident that I'll get well over 2,000 km out of my Tiber boots and that's easily on a par with boots twice the price.Great walking and tramping boots that are comfortable, warm, dry and durable at exceptional value for money.

Great boot but!

I love this boot. I’ve bought 3 pair. Very supportive sole and great ankle protection but.. the stitching around toe and crease area is very poor. All my boots have required repairing with shoe glue at 6 months.

Great value
5 June 2022

Summary – The November 2021 sale purchase price of $240.00 was great value.Pros. So comfortable without any need to break in. Trained in them for about 200ks before trekking 110ks on the Larapinta Trail in 2022. Excellent grip experienced on the dry Larapinta Trail from the Vibram soles.Cons. The compound used in the Vibram soles was unexpectedly not strong and small pieces of the sole tread is breaking away. Not having a leather upper the shoes become smelly with prolonged use.

Might not be very durable
8 October 2023

I purchased these boots a few months ago now. I have since done a few 20km day hikes and, more recently, a multiday trek of 200km. Overall, the boots have been perfect. However, the memory foam plantar has now lost a bit of its softness/impact absorption, and the edges of the front cap, sewn into the leather, have started to fail, with the sewing becoming more visible and a gap forming. I have not tested whether this has impacted the waterproof ability, but seeing a gap of about 1mm, I doubt water will not get in. Lovely and comfy boots might not last very long if used frequently.

My Workaday Boots
9 August 2024

I’m a farmer, while I need special boots for special situations, I also need boots that I can wear in and around the house, in clean areas on the farm, on the road, and when running errands. These boots support me beautifully, are versatile, and I wear them 95% of my waking day, every day. They will last me 2 years of continuous heavy use, and I wouldn’t be without them. This is my 4th pair after years of farming.

So far so good
21 June 2024

They're comfortable from day one and have very good grip. I use them for work in steep undulating terrain. I've worn them twice and I'm still getting used to the feel which is normal for a boot I'm not used to. I'm happy with them so far. They cop a flogging, so hopefully they're made well enough to last a while.

Wet feet
10 May 2024

Purchased in 2020 (or there abouts). The leather quickly tore on sticks and vines while hiking.Waterproofing is non-existent and dew from wet grass will make its way to your socks and feet by the afternoon.Dubbin hasn't fixed this issue either.Pretty comfortable though and will continue to wear inbetween drying!

Good leather , vibram sole flexible, gives very good traction on rock and hardwearing. Nose piece does not stand up to off trail use very long which is a major let down for an otherwise comfortable boot. It is not waterproof and neither dubbin nor Nikwax will make it so.
