This was to replace a more expensive De'Longhi kettle that had just stopped working, and this was reflected in the quality, which is ok, but not as good as the old one, although this was about 1/3 of the price, so it is not surprising. So far, it is working fine, although only had a week.The only criticism is that the neck is quite narrow, so it is difficult to see how much water you have put in. There is a clear tube on the side that shows the water level, but this is not easy to see, so is a bit of a waste of time

All about the looks, not the practicality.

This items looks wonderful but, as others have said it is the product of artistic minds, not engineers.1)The kettle can only be filled through the lid. This is tight fitting and EVERY time it is removed, it WILL drip water all over your worktop.2) As the lid is made of chromed metal and very hot if recently boiled, the inevitable contact with your fingers is uncomfortable.3) The worst bit is the water level gauge - it is almost impossible to tell how full the kettle is unless held up to the right light. I've given up waving a half-full kettle about in the air trying to see the level.To conclude? This is like a 1970s Italian sports car. Gorgeous looks but you'll regret buying one!

Beige De'Longhi Argento Kettle

Plus Point(s):Clear and easy-to-use controls,etc.Holds/boils a decent amount of water, as required.Quite stylish and the beige-colour matches our decor.Also purchased the matching toaster.Wife seems very happy!(Possible?) Minus Point(s):It may be louder than some kettles, but this is possibly due to its wide, squat shape and also depend on the quantity of water put into it (i.e. quieter if filled higher?).The finish is not a smooth gloss and is more of a fine-textured, matt one.

Pros: Beautiful colour and stylish designCons: The filter at the spout is very difficult to remove for cleaning. Once replaced afer cleaning it up becomes quite loose and not fixed in position. This aspect of the design is very disappointing and I imagine it won't be long before I need to buy either a new filter or even a new kettle!

Delongi kettle review

This kettle is by far the least quality one I've bought. Plus points: boils quickly. Nice design. But negatively it is very loud when it boils.and physically shakes whilst doing so. The lid does not fit very well compared with the other Delongi kettles I've owned due to it's very thin metal construction.The handle has an inset metal trim which feels sharpe against the surface of the plastic edge. I recommend looking at other similar kettles before buying .

Good looking kettle with design flaws

Purchased a couple of weeks ago to replace an ageing and leaking Tefal kettle (10 years old though). Nice design and colour which matches the DeLonghi toaster. However it is very, very difficult to read the capacity indicator so you have to resort to looking inside the kettle. In addition, the handle is of very poor quality with sharp edges to it. The on/off switch is also poor quality and very flimsy.I doubt that this rsily expensive kettle will last as long as our old Tefal (and at half the price).

Interesting Aesthetics

This Kettle still has lots to go to becoming The Perfect kettle! There were no reviews available for this particular model so I took the chance on it. Wanted the red but it was circ £30 over in price? Love the look and feel (settled for the cream colour)...noisy at first but after a few uses its very quiet:-) BUT it is not a practical kettle. It is too heavy to lift, the handle is very awkward (puts pressure on your wrists - not good for Athritis). In future models manufaturer should consider the old school overaching handle above kettle rather than a side one. Its too high (height dimensions) struggle to get it under a standard height tap. Pros: Nice spout, not heavy.Cons: Awful cheap plastic handle and boil switch. The switch wobbles and feels like it will snap off. The fill indicator is printed in the same colour as the kettle, against a light background, you cannot see where the water level is, terrible for anyone with sight issues. It's also underneath the handle so you can't see it while you are holding the handle and filling the kettle. It's extremely noisy when boiling and not very fast. Would not buy it again. Couldn't return it due to the return cost of tracked parcel postage. Bought in a sale so would lose money on the return. Very disappointed.

Smart Choice

Good looking kettle and right colour for our kitchen. Straightforward control, no temperature adjustment or warning sounds when turned on or boiled. A bit noisy when boiling but it doesn't take long to get to temperature, so we can live with it.I think it was supposed to be quiet boil but this is not the case. No kettle I have used ever has been unless it is the double walled version.

There are better kettles.

Large volume, good solid kettle, however spring on lid makes it difficult to open when hot...lid not heat insulatated. Also noiser than cylinder design kettles when boiling. Filter on spout difficult to get back in place...pops back out when pouring if not done correctly.
