I really wanted to love the new Polar boots in this series. For some reason, they have a tighter and more destructive fit than the Men's version...which I LOVE..I have all 4 colors ! I have the hardest time getting them on my feet and I can NOT change the insole because of the lack of space within the boot.On the next point of contention ...these do not look brand new. They look like someone wore them for a week..lots of scuff marks and creases in key places that indicate being worn. Looks like they had the same issue I did. ..difficult to get on the feet. I will be returning mine.I wear a size 9 and bought a 9.5. My toes were 1/4 to 1/2 inch from the front. I am going to return them and wash my hands of the Womens version.

These boots fit true to the size chart (measure your foot). Plenty of width in the toe box for feet and winter socks. They are as warm as you'd expect from 200 gm insulation. Problem: I tried two different sizes (5.5 and 6) and both press on the front of my instep (the shoe presses on the top of the foot behind the toes). This cannot be modified by loosening the laces. I don't have high arches or a high instep, just average, slightly bony feet. The shoe's upper doesn't have enough depth at the instep for me.

I’ve worn these boots several times on both gravel trails and in a more wooded trail settings as well as casual wear and I was very happy with them. The toe box is roomier than my other keens but not to an uncomfortable extent. I had no issues with getting them on or off, and they fit well with thick socks and thinner wool socks. Lacing them up, I did have to be careful how tight I made the mid section of the boot, as it dug in a little bit but I expect they’ll loosen up a little over time. The heel fits really well and offers great ankle support, a necessity in hiking boots. The traction is good and I feel stable when wearing them, as a couple of hikes I did, the ground was wet and we had to navigate around some rocky bits and I didn’t feel worried at all. They ... I’ll be bringing them to the northeast soon and am looking forward to having them with me for the cold and probably snowy weather. These are going to be great boots for casual to more difficult hikes as well as walks on trails, dry and wet. They’re my new go-tos!

These boots are great. I didn't have any issues getting them on/off like other reviewers did. They're pretty comfortable-a bit clunky but a nice trade off for the stability they offer. I used them in wooded trails while walking my dog after heavy rains and my feet stayed warm and dry. It was pretty slippery and the traction on these are great. This experience resulted in them being my shoes of choice when moving on an extremely cold and rainy day-they were awesome keeping my feet dry, keeping me from slipping while carrying heavy furniture, and really comfortable. I went on a wet/windy beach and dune walk in these shoes and they were great on slippery/sandy rocks. I plan to use them as my snow shoeing boots when we finally get some snow.
The boots run half a size too large. With an extra insole and thick socks my feet felt well supported and were not slipping. The heel shaft in particular is very supportive and comfortable, as long as the laces are not tightened too much at the top. The top hooks make for secure laces that do not loosen on a long hike, but also present a tripping hazard if the inside ones catch each other. I prevented this from happening by pulling my pant legs tightly over the top of the boots. On muddy trails they provide excellent traction. After walking for a few hours in and out of 1-2 inch puddles, my feet were still dry and warm. An added bonus is that the boot construction kept my feet from supinating, which they tend to do. There is nothing better than finding footwear that fits like you have owned it forever. These boots have ample space for your toes and are snug through the foot and ankle, providing support rather than being constrictive. They are perfect for fall and winter weather. They kept my feet warm paired with wool socks in 17 degree weather. I did a 6 mile hike in some local wetlands and they kept my feet dry, provided good traction on wet leaves and mud, and cleaned up nicely. The best part, this was the second time I wore them and my feet felt fine. These are great boots. I would highly recommend.
I have worn Keen boots for 11 years now and my size has always been 5.5Women's Voyageur Mid 5.5Women's Steens 5.5KEEN Women's Bryce Mid 6 (These are small last)KEEN Targhee II Mid 5.5so I bought the same size for this reference but it turned out that the size 5.5 has been large for me so I have had to buy a second pair half a size down 5, so I must say that:1. BIG: These boots come big in the toe box, I had to use insoles but they still fit me big in size 5.5.2. WARM: They keep my feet warm.3. WATERPROOF: I live in Bogota-Colombia where it rains a lot every day, I have put them in puddles and they have withstood the water.4. LACES: Their laces feel solid and do not come loose easily.5. SIZE GUIDE: The size guide is not true; for example, my longest foot is 22.3 cms and according to this measurement the correct size is 6 but it is too big for me as is size 5.5, and I corroborated this with another pair of boots I bought a year ago Women's Steens Leather Waterproof Boot where I was guided by the sizing chart taking into account the measurement of my feet in cms and bought size 6 but this was too big.CONCLUSION: The centimetres do not correspond to the size that can fit you and vice versa.6. SOLE: Good grip and doesn't let you slip on wet ground.FINAL CONCLUSION:Unfortunately for me who live in Colombia and buy my boots online, I can not return them because it is very expensive, now I have to keep the pair that did not work for me and wait for the new one.I don't know what happens with KEEN that in each model their shoe trees change, so buying online is risky.TIP TO THE MANUFACTURER: Please standardize the sizes, the shoe trees of your boots to avoid having to return boots or spend more money and time and check very well the size guide because it is wrong and the cms do not correspond with the size and vice versa.
I have always worn a Keen Women's 8 wide. However, this shoe runs almost a half size too wide at the toe and that makes my feet "swim around" when I hike. The solution is to wear a heavy sock and that is fine during the winter. But in the summer, it will be too hot. In addition, it would be nice if Keen offered more selection in wide for women. What is up with just two? I would love to wear some of your sandals or casual shoes. Please take your customers in to consideration. Thank you.
I put these on and walked around the neighborhood for 5 miles or so, up hills, etc. They fit perfectly, like my favorite Targhee IIIs. The grass was wet and as I came in and stepped on the ceramic tile floor and went for quite a slip, which doesn't bode well for how the boot would perform on wet rocks. In comparing the bottom soles with my Targhee IIIs, I noticed that the winter boot was far less aggressive and therefore would probably wear out sooner. So, I would choose to keep these boots primarily for when I'm on snowshoes or spikes, which would preserve their soles. I'm wondering how long the waterproofing will last with fabric bits exposed? Or even how warm they will be in comparison to boots that do not have fabric bits exposed?
These shoes seem to run a little large. Even though I usually wear US women's 8.5 or EU 39, I had to go down to US women's 8 or EU 38 with my padded hiking socks. The toe is pretty roomy and a little boxy. I have narrower feet, so sliding around on the downhill was not always the most pleasant feeling. The heel did fit snugly. I adjusted the laces so that even though the toe was moving around, the heel was stable and stayed put. I have extremely high arches, and when I laced over the arch the first few times, there was part of the tongue that continued to push painfully into my foot. If I continue to wear these shoes, I'll have to get arch support and toe stabilizers. Overall, I think this is a great shoe for someone that likes room in the toe but also wants a ... I would not recommend you purchase this shoe online without a fitting, specifically if you have high arches or narrow feet. The waterproofing and toughness of the boot stood up to 4" mud and 8" snow. It was also very easy to wipe clean afterward. Definitely a low-maintenance shoe.
