KEF KC62 Subwoofer (Mineral White)
KEF KC62 is a compact subwoofer that is designed to deliver powerful and accurate bass performances for an enjoyable, immersive experience. The KC62 uses KEF’s ground breaking Uni-Core technology, P-Flex surround design and can be used with almost any speaker system. Why the KC62? The KC62 subwoofer is one of KEF’s smallest subs on the market. It features two 6.5” force cancelling drive units powered by 1,000W RMS of specially designed Class D amplification, which is housed a ultra-compact extruded aluminium cabinet. Uni-Core Technology KEF’s Uni-Core technology combines both drivers into a single magnet system, which reduces cabinet size by over a third, whilst increasing excursion to unlock exceptional output and depth. Compact Sub KEF’s KC62, unlike a lot of subs on the market, is an ultra-compact subwoofer standing at only 24.6cm with a width of only 25.6cm. Contrary to it’s small stature the KC62 is capable of providing accurate, deep bass for an fully immersive movie or musical experience. 1000W RMS The KC62’s twin drivers are powered by 1,000W RMS (2 x 500W) of specially designed Class D amplification, which provides an exceptional level of control and the power to deliver instant bursts of power when needed. 5 Pre-sets The KC62 has five Room Placement Equalisation pre-sets to ensure the same performance no matter where the sub is installed. P-Flex Surround Design KEF’s KC62 P-Flex driver surround has a unique pleated design to improve resistance to acoustic pressure in the cabinet, which allows the driver to move more precisely and produce a deeper and more accurate bass reproduction. Design meets substance The KC62 sub is made from extruded aluminium. It has curved cabinet design that providing strength and style. The ultra-compact size enables it to fit in most locations, and the Carbon Black and Mineral White finishes allow it to match most decors.

I know this woofer has a steep price but it is an excellent match for LS50 Meta. It takes very little space and it complements LS50 perfectly. Very potent for small to mid-sized rooms. It has a very solid build and also looks amazing. Definitely recommended!

I had thought for a while about buying the KC62 as an addition to the already good performing KEF LS50 W II active speakers I purchased a few weeks ago. With expected price rises affecting all walks of life, I decided to jump sooner rather than later. And have not been disappointed at all.A bit pricey, maybe, but this genuinely adds performance value to the LS50 W II that I have, more detailed, wider, taller & deeper sound stage. The 70Hz high pass filter option on the KEF Connect App' when used with the LS50 W II takes some of the workload away from the LS50's Mid/Bass driver, allowing them to be better used in the Mid range.I have a Tidal Hi-Fi subscription, lossless digital and into hires digital sound superb with 'Tidal Connect' functionality & MQA ... As always, the service from Newcastle Richer Sounds was phenomenal, and I'd not buy anywhere else. We listened to the KC62 with LS50 WII in store, then brought it home excited as the sound was outstanding, and this sub is tiny, well built and attractive. After a week of trying to work with the KC62, connected to LS50 wireless IIs following KEF's instructions, I couldn't live with it. Unless you manipulate the gain manually, turn up the volume (not always an option if you want to listen in the evening) or set crossovers to less than optimal frequencies in the KEF app, the sub won't 'wake up' from standby until 2 minutes into a song - and that was with a fairly bass-y track, at volume 30 in the KEF app. When you do get the sub to start playing, it will go back into ... When you do get the sub to start playing, it will go back into standby during songs with less bass or if playing at under volume level 30 - making it a frustrating listening experience. Then, when you stop playing music, there is a low volume noise after turning off music until 10min later when the sub goes back to standby.Even ignoring the above, I couldn't get a balanced sound as there is so little adjustment to stop certain frequencies (resonances / reflections in the room / 'room nodes?) being too much, whilst other frequencies drop off and seem absent. The lowest frequencies are certainly there, but in my experience they were not balanced or at the same volume as the rest of the track. At this level and price, I expected to pair it with my LS50s and enjoy an excellent full-range sound. I spent a lot of time playing with positions, LFE/manual mode, crossovers on the LS50s / on the sub etc.Luckily for me, the amazing staff at richer sounds allowed me to try alternative subs from SVS and REL, and despite the massive price disparity - I've now gone SVS. I love the LS50s, but the KC62 isn't in the same league. At the price point, I expect to enjoy the product and for it to work well consistently, hence I have to say it is very poor value for money.
A small marvel, clean sound, plenty of punch, in a very small unit. Some niggles with LFE and standby power, hopefully they will iron out the bugs in future firmware.
Very compact for a subwoofer but bass extension is excellent. Expensive but worth it.
Together with the LA50 WII, they produce way more sound than my neighbours can handle :). The quality is truly outstanding. Super happy with my purchase
Very happy with the KC62. It complements the LS50 wireless II speakers well. Good price and quick shipping from Living Entertainment. Thanks
I loved the sound of this sub when I heard it at a friend's house paired with the LS50 Wireless speakers. I have the LS50 Wireless II's so felt it a natural pair after enjoying the main speakers for over a year now. However I felt the sub was too boomy in my room, and had to turn the sub down to such a low level it was barely being worked and therefore felt overkill. Richer Sounds have been great throughout the process with advice and after sales support though I've returned this one and will need to rethink if I want to add more low-end to my setup
